Nice and light and compact. The better the speakers, the better the sound.Less is better as far as the controls are concerned.I got mine on sale, and I would have paid more,I was that satisfied. This is not a high powered unit.If thats what you need,to blow a roof off...don't get this. The power rating is 100 watts RMS @ 8 ohms.I'm in an acoustic folk-rock band where clear vocals and back-up vocals are most important. In a word,it sounds great. This amp will handle a medium sized hall up to 150 fairly racus fans in a 5000 sq. foot space no problem.Use good mics and good speakers, and I don't believe you'll be disappointed.I'm thinking that Beringer stuff is very under-rated quality-wise......Have fun........

I have owned two of these units. I love the compact design and this unit fits my needs pretty well, but the units don't last a year. The quality is terrible.I use them with 3 Audio Technica wireless microphones and 4 Galaxy HotSpot speakers as a monitoring system for the 3-piece horn section of the rock band I play with. The first one stopped working after 8-9 months. We were doing a sound check at a gig, stopped hearing sound and looked at the unit. All of the lights were off. Replaced the fuse, still did not power on (and the new fuse didn't blow). Had that electrical burnt smell at the fan port. Since I bought it at an online auction, no warranty.Replaced it with a second unit. This one lasted slightly longer - 11 months. Was 5 songs into the first set at a gig when I smelled that electrical smell again. Turned around and the whole back of the stage was filled with smoke, which was pouring out of the back of the unit. Darn lucky we didn't set off the fire suppression system at the venue.Needlass to say, I won't be buying another.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP518M Powered Mixer:

Great little mixer for the money. Can get pretty loud. We use it to run audio through a video feed in the main lobby of our church and it gets plenty loud to be heard over 200 people talking in a concrete floored room. We also use it for speaking for special events. Could also work well for a singer/songwriter type event.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP518M Powered Mixer:

The Berhinger PMP518M powered mixer is a bargain at its sale price. The 180 watts advertised is PEAK power, the amp is just 105 watts RMS into 4 ohms. The on board reverbs are nice, but some other effects seem unusable to me. Other reviewers note its lack of monitor/line outs, but the Amp Insert jack can send AND receive a line signal. It's a TRS jack and it will receive a line signal from the tip of TRS cable, but it will also send a signal through the sleeve of that cable. By taking a standard instrument cable (TS) and plugging the cable into the Amp Insert jack half-way, you can duplicate the mixer's signal to its own amp and send it to another power amp to run more speakers. In my case (an acoustic duo), I run two mics, an acoustic guitar and a digital keyboard into the mixer, use the mixer's amp to run 2 monitors, and use the line out to feed a powered main speaker, a great setup for a pub or restaurant setting.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP518M Powered Mixer:

I bought this unit a while back and sold it to a young band. I regretted it since. I have another pair of Behringer non-powered speakers and this is a perfect back-up to my main unit.

The sound is clear, and although it says 180 watts, it definitely can crank out the volume, it gets loud. I play weekends as a single with guitar, vocals, and backing tracks I created. This unit can cover a medium sized club very easily. I used it one night at a noisy bar party, with lots of loud people and I turned it up to 4 and it easily went over the top of all the noise. It just kept on cranking out deep low end and crisp highs.

I have only one complaint. On occasion, I play larger shows where I would like to line out my own mix to a larger mixer. That way I still have total control over my stage sound. The one thing Behringer left out on this little jewel is a Line Out. That would have made it perfect for any situation I could ever imagine. Other than that, this is the perfect little compliment for my backup PA system.

I've owned Behringer stuff for 12 years and I've only had one bad instance with a monitor handle that broke off due to misuse. I filled the screw holes with wood glue, put back the screws and carrying handle and now it takes all the abuse I throw at it.

I'm very excited because MF finally put this mixer on sale again, and I'm getting it for practically a song. You can't find a better value for the money. If you miss this sale, buy it next time, I promise you you won't be disappointed.

This Amp is a nice compact unit. The main flaw is overheating and skipping. I've owned two of these amps and both did the same thing. Shut down in the middle of a performance.
