Ive had two of these mixers, but I was never crazy about them. The outputs are horribly low quality. They bend and break easily. I never abuse my equipment, but this thing might as well be made of glass. I could never figure out how I burned out my first mixer, but my second mixer's left output got jostled just slightly while it was on. There was some crackling from the left speaker before I could kill the power, and the exhaust smelled. Clearly it burned out. The sound quality of the system is not AWFUL. Most of the effects are complete garbage (there are 99 effects but most of them are about the same and just too trippy). The EQ isnt fantastic. Even with my SM-58, vocals sound pretty stale. Its not certanly not going ot make you sound any better than you are, and it will not last you longer than a year or so; especially if you plan on moving it around and taking it for gigs. I will not be purchasing another one. Also, the tape out is awfully buzzy. Don't use this thing to record.

Not worth it

I have owned two of these units.  I love the compact design and this unit fits my needs pretty well, but the units don't last a year.  The quality is terrible. I use them with 3 Audio Technica wireless microphones and 4 Galaxy HotSpot speakers as a monitoring system for the 3-piece horn section of the rock band I play with.  The first one stopped working after 8-9 months.  We were doing a sound check at a gig, stopped hearing sound and looked at the unit.  All of the lights were off.  Replaced the fuse, still did not power on (and the new fuse didn't blow).  Had that electrical burnt smell at the fan port.  Since I bought it at an online auction, no warranty. Replaced it with a second unit.  This one lasted slightly longer - 11 months.  Was 5 songs into the first set at a gig when I smelled that electrical smell again.  Turned around and the whole back of the stage was filled with smoke, which was pouring out of the back of the unit.  Darn lucky we didn't set off the fire suppression system at the venue. Needlass to say, I won't be buying another.

Dull Surprise

Got this last week so I wouldn't have to leave my better powered-mixer onsite overnight for a freebie job--less pain if stolen. It fed 2 Yamaha BR12 speakers in parallel and worked fine. Room was a medium-size gym-like room in a local armory. I would say it was pushed to its limit, but adequate for that job. Sound wasn't too impressive but got better with some EQ. Used only for voice announcements. I don't know if they turned it off for the night when done, but no calls the next morning when they resumed to finish the second day. One thing that pissed me off was that the molded plastic cabinet was cracked in a couple of places on the bottom of the main outer case--like someone drop-kicked it. The front panel molded plastic had come dislodged from the groove the two pieces dovetail together in, but there was no indication of shipping damage on the box or plastic overwrap. (Was NOT packed inside another one when shipped). I heard something loose inside and shook it and a piece of plastic fell out--a tab from that warped/separated area. Another loose part wouldn't come out, so thinking it was a screw I gave in and opened-up the whole thing. It was a screw but it was inside a broken-off plastic mounting post. LUCKILY I HAD OPENED IT UP, because I found that when the front and main boards were assembled, the two metal plates that contact each other perpendicularly had pinched one of the main AC wires!!! The insulation was cut and half the strands of wire were severed. Had I powered-up the unit it would have been an instant fry-job. So I taped the injury and carefully put it back together. Consumer intervention I really hate to have to do, but time was tight and I didn't have time to send it back and wait for another one. Since I hear these things have a short life anyway, does it really matter?? It won't get much use from me usually, so that is in its favor.

PMP518M- Worst Behringer purchase I've ever made

Avoid this PMP518M mixer. I have had ALOT of luck with Behringer--- mixers, active speakers, guitar stuff, etc. Leave this one alone--- it's not even stereo! It is underpowered and just does not sound good. Behringer makes products with amazing value but this is not one of them.

Seems like a good deal. One of the cheapest powered amps on the market. Let's put some emphasis on the "cheap" here though. Hardly a year old and it literally blows up on us one day. We send it back to Behringer (at our expense) and get a new replacement in exchange. Plug it in and guess what? All the channels are fuzzy. Now more time and money lost. Learn a lesson from us. Junk gear like this just doesn't pay off!
