OVERVIEW

1600W 20-channel powered mixer with dual multi-FX processor and FBQ Feedback Detection System.

The Behringer EUROPOWER PMP6000 Powered Mixer (2 x 800W stereo, 1600W bridged mode) produces even more power than previous mixers while maintaining famously low weight and high efficiency. The Behringer EUROPOWER PMP6000 mixer employs Class-D technology including a switch-mode power supply, significantly reducing weight and heat. The 20-Channel Behringer PMP6000 features 12 built-in XENYX mic preamps, 2 studio-grade 24-bit FX processors with 100 presets, and FBQ Feedback Detection.

What is Class-D Technology?
Instead of operating relatively continuously like Class AB circuits, Class-D amps switch on and off thousands of times per second, delivering power only when needed. In other words, the amplifier is either fully on or fully off, which significantly reduces power losses from the output devices given off as heat. Less heat means the amps don't need massive heat sinks, and that makes them lighter. This no-compromise design means the EUROPOWER PMP6000 mixer will deliver full power with incredible fidelity all night long, without the need for lengthy rest cycles.

When used in conjunction with switching-mode power supplies, which don't require huge and heavy transformers, Behringer's Class-D amplifiers provide tremendous dynamic punch and superior fidelity. The resulting speaker systems are much lighter, making them easy to transport and set up.

Massive Mono or Stunning Stereo
EUROPOWER PMP6000 gives you the choice of 2 x 800-watt stereo, 2 x 800-watt dual mono mode (giving you a mono version of the main signal through one powered output plus a mono version of all monitor send signals through the second powered input) or 1,600-watt bridged mono sound. Whether the center of attention happens to be a folk trio, a speech, or a synth-rock band with mind-boggling stereo patches, the EUROPOWER PMP6000 mixers can accommodate. This sonic versatility also makes it an excellent choice for churches, where vocals and stereo recordings often share face time.

Classic Control, State-of-the-Art Sound
Leave the mic preamps at home, because the quality of sound that was once only available in the studio is ready to go wherever you do. Built-in, boutique-caliber mic preamps with switchable +48V phantom power make it possible to use either dynamic or condenser mics with the EUROPOWER PMP6000. It gives you 12 mic inputs.

Built-in Digital Effects Processor
The EUROPOWER PMP6000 comes equipped with dual 24-bit FX processors, giving you 100 mind-blowing digital effect presets such as delay, chorus, and reverb. Apply them to any channel, as well as to the monitors and main output. In case you're pulling double duty as sound engineer and performer, the FX processor features a footswitch jack for remote on/off. Of course, if you have treasured outboard gear you've grown attached to, the EUROPOWER PMP6000 can integrate them into the mix while leaving out the built-in FX processor.

Changing the Channels
The EUROPOWER PMP6000 mixer has excellent flexibility to accommodate whatever a performance requires. You get 8 channels for mics, guitars, and other mono instruments. Stereo channels 9-16 are designed to work in pairs as stereo channels, or independently for more mono instruments. All mono channels have 3-band EQ, switchable low-cut filter for eliminating infrasonics, and Clip LEDs to indicate when the input signal is too hot.

The FBQ Feedback Detection system automatically shows you which frequencies are causing feedback. Just touch the FBQ button and watch the red LEDs on the 7-band graphic EQ pinpoint show you which frequencies to adjust for optimized sound, without the feedback.

The Ins and Outs
Use the CD/Tape In RCA inputs to feed in external stereo signals from CD players or tape decks. The Voice Canceller switch eliminates the vocals from prerecorded music for instant karaoke applications.

CD/Tape Out RCA outputs send line-level signals from the mixer to a recording device. The left and right output 1/4" connectors can be used for a variety of purposes, including connecting more power amps. Connect monitor power amps or active monitor speakers to the Mon Sound output. Powered outputs on this mixer are available in professional Speakon-compatible format.

Small, Simple, Superb
Medium-sized events call for a lightweight, easy-to-use powered mixer. The EUROPOWER PMP6000 mixer is one of the most efficient, affordable mixers for the job, and is even suitable for use as pure analog mixer or as a pure power amplifier. With new technological advantages and incredible built-in features, it's easier than ever to lend exceptional sound quality to all kinds of public performances.

It's a 9 for me because it is not the best but it is far from the worse! We are not a metal band... we play good ol' Rock & Roll. The only problems I ever face with this unit is that fact that I forget all the features it incorporates into one great package. We've since added 4 Behringer F1120 Powered Monitors (which run great as well) and if we really need to push some wattage for an outdoor gig, the Peavey Main Speakers are swapped for a pair of 1976 Cerwin-Vega V-35s. With the fact these 2 speakers are very efficient, the Behringer PMP6000 almost asks if I would like to push it even harder! I've no amature! I've been gigging on all levels for over 40 years...
Behringer has been shadowed by the big name companies but, if you know what you are doing when it comes to sound this unit will work for you. The Features are right in front of you & simple to use ((but, you have to have some knowledge of how to operate the system or know how to read the manual)). I've owned this unit for almost a year now, playing every weekend in a 4 piece band... 4 microphones; Stereo Nord Keyboard; my Taylor Acoustic Guitar runs through this unit into 2 Peavey PV112s & 2 PV115s - we run is Stereo - more power than we honestly need to perform at outdoor gigs. We never went into bridging the unit for the maximum power... we had no need to! If you read some of the reviews stating it has no power, they are playing way too loud to begin with. My group is comprised of 4 seasoned professional musicians & never once did anyone complain.
I protect it when moving it around but, it's built just as good as Peavey, Yamaha or Mackie.
Bang for the buck!!! Here it is!

Behringer markets a great looking product, however based on this experience, coupled with Behringer's poor reputation for reliability, we are returning the second unit and will pay more for a Peavey with far fewer features and less power. I have owned several Peavey amps, as have the members of my band. Peavey makes some of the ugliest products out there (just look at their logo), but I have found them to be extremely reliable with many years of trouble free usage. It appears that Behringer is mostly about bells, whistles and marketing. We gave them a shot and now we'll go with a proven product.
I was dazzled by the features and power of this unit and seduced by the amazing price. There is nothing that compares to the total package for under $1000. Behringer's reputation has not been the best but I had heard they we're getting better, so I took a shot.

The board arrived and we powered it up - no output from the B channel. We of course tripled checked our connection chain and reversed everything to rule out bad cables and speakers. The results were the same. The meters showed signal going to both A and B - but no output from the B power amp. Based on the A channel the sound quality is excellent. Very nice effects, too.

Shipped it back to MF and they kindly rushed a second unit off to us. Received the second one - exact same problem. Looks like there may be a batch of boards that slipped through QC at Behringer.
You can't touch the features and power offered by this unit for less than twice the price. If only it worked!

Absolute garbage, ran the unit stationary for 9 months before it started acting up and at 12 months it flamed out specacularily
well if you consider the 600 I paid for a flaming hulk papwerweight valuable, this mixer is for you

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP6000 20-Channel Powered Mixer:

Played a Gig last night using this mixer no power at all I brought my Mackies 450 v2s as monitors and they had more power than this board in questioned. I have earlier version of this mixer PMX 5000 which I think has more muscle then this unit and still my PMX 5000 doesn't cut either have tie in an external power amp to be able to an average club. Behringer rates their units in peak watts which is about half of the real watts. Don't spend your hard earned money on Behringer powered mixers because you will shopping again for system that will do the job. I just telling you all if had known this before hand I would got something else be and saving some time and money

Whats wrong?

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP6000 20-Channel Powered Mixer:

I will say this. Musicians Friend has been very helpful in working this out. I think maybe the Behringer company should be called out on this. If you can't make a good product get out of the business.
I play in an acoustic band. We purchased this to drive 2 JBLs rated at 8 ohms. The mixer is rated the same. All we heard after hooking it up was very low volume distortion in the speakers. We are just playing microphones acoustic/electric instruments.
Maybe it's a lemon. who knows .The manual has very little information. It is thick but written in a number of languages. Welcome to the Global age!
For something that doesn't work. You decide.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP6000 20-Channel Powered Mixer:

My band has been using this mixer for about 6 months. We only use one of the powered channels to run our JBL mains that have a 15", 10" and a horn and we are running it at 4ohms. Although it does a good job for small to medium venues there's no way it's putting out 800 watts at 4ohms. My guess would be 400-500 watts max. The stero channels are weak and hard to get enough signal into them without an outboard preamp. I will say that the sound reproduction is very good, it's very crisp and the drums sound much, much better than I thought they would but we're also running 4 18" subs which are powered by a EP4000 at 4ohms. I recommend a sonic maximizer to brighten up the vocals and the cymbals. We also do not use the onboard EQ. We use a outboard 15 band EQ for the mains and another for the monitors. If I were going to use the onboard EQ I'd only use it for the monitors.

All and all I'd say it's a good mixer for the money as long as we get the service from it. We are a Rock band and don't have any trouble getting plenty of power into the mains.

Delivered by UPS at about 4pm - opened box about 5:30pm to discover handle broken and separated from side of console with a small broken piece of plastic in the box. Immediately called customer service and was informed that they would inform UPS to come to inspect the box and item for return. In the meantime, we needed this mixer for a performance on July 27. It's Monday the 29th and I am waiting for UPS to call.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP6000 20-Channel Powered Mixer:

I use this board mainly for my one-man acoustic show. I play both outdoors and indoors. I also have used it a number of times with my classic rock band.

Since the acoustic shows are generally much smaller, I use board power for the mains, and an active monitor. I use the mono out to run the signal to the monitor. This way, I am hearing exactly what the audience is hearing. You can's get much simpler than that!

For the full band gigs, I do not usually use board power. It is just not adequate for the venues we have played. I rely on three power amps, a 31 band eq, and cross-over. One amp covers the monitors, one for the subs (excellent Peavey 1-18s) and one for the mains (excellent PV1-15s). With this setup, the sound is superb. The cross-over allows me to drive the speakers VERY hard with great efficiency - PLENTY of volume, and headroom in abundance.

The board's built-in effects are adequate, the preamps are clear and crisp, and the channels have excellent eq shaping. In three years of use, I have never had a single complaint on the sound, only compliments.

I have never had any kind of failure, the board functions as well today as it did when new. Yes, I take very good care of it. It is always transported in a road case. I do not let anyone near it who has a drink in their hand, and when it is set up in the practice room, I keep it covered with a towel so it doesn't get dusty. Good care pays off with any piece of equipment.

I have recommended this board to many people, and I would definitely replace it with another just like it if it were stolen.

      Rock On!

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP6000 20-Channel Powered Mixer:

i purchased this mixer and it worked and sounded great. i was using powered mains, not the internal power amp. when i went to use the internal power amp, for my monitors, only the A side worked? Nothing would come out of the B side. I researched further, and read a whole lot of negative reviews, about this problem & Behringer's Quality control. I took mine to my favorite nearby music store, and they fixed the problem INSTANTLY! In order for ther internal power amp to run 4 monitors @ 4 ohms, you have to "trick" the mixer. Insert a jumper from L power amp insert to A monitor send, then do the same thing on the B side. Now i have all 1600 watts pushing my 4 monitors, using the internal power amp. Quick fix & only took 2 jumper cords! I was ready to ship it back, because i thought the mixer was defective. The way Behringer designed this unit, they want YOU to buy an External power amp! NO NEED TO FOR THAT. PROBLEM SOLVED. I hope this helps out any further folks stumbling on this problem.
