OVERVIEW

Take total control of your live sound setup.

The Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro is the flagship of the entire FBQ series. An ultra-musical 31-band stereo graphic equalizer, the FBQ6200 goes the distance to offer maximum performance and flexibility in both live and studio applications.

Start with the forward-looking, patent-pending FBQ Feedback Detection System that instantly reveals feedback frequencies and also can be used as an audio analyzer.

A whole battery of superb features makes the FBQ6200 score high on the ease-of-use scale: dedicated limiters with gain reduction meters for each channel protect your sound system from overload and distortion, and a pink noise generator provides test signals for equalizing your sound system to any room acoustics.

A mono subwoofer output with dedicated level control and adjustable crossover frequency gives your music some extra verve. Additional sweepable high- and low-cut filters for each channel remove unwanted frequencies such as floor rumble and tape hiss. Level setting is no sweat thanks to the highly accurate 8-digit LED input/output metering and input gain control.

Top-drawer components such as the ultralow-noise audio operational amplifiers, servo balanced inputs and outputs with 1/4" TRS and gold-plated XLR connectors and the relay-controlled hard-bypass with an auto-bypass function offer outstanding audio performance. Expect reliability in the long run with the high-quality illuminated 45-mm detented ALPS faders, potentiometers, and illuminated switches. Any way you look at it, the FBQ6200 has all the right stuff to become a welcome addition to your touring rack.

It clouds your sound. Sure, you can counour your way around that, but with all settings at zero, sending your signal through it has a slight muffling effect, even on bypass.

The BIG issue is durability. What good is paying a bit less for a piece of gear then having to replace it? I can live with having to tweak around a bit to overcome minor sonic issues in exchange for a price advantage, particularly for live sound where there are so many venue noise factors that the differences between this product and higher quality units are lost. Live gear needs to be durable. This unit failed. It has static and dropout issues that developed miraculously at the end of the warranty period. Studio gear needs to sound really, really good, and be sonically invisible when not employed. This unit failed.

I'll be taking it with me on my next visit to the rifle range.
Features are pretty good - or would be if the thing sounded better and held together.
It worked for a while.
It has no value at all if it's unreliable. If it were a dependable device it would be a decent value for the money.

A disappointment

Comments about Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro EQ:

I purchased this device a few months ago. While the EQ works fine there is a lot of background noise and humming associated with the machine. Not quite all. I guess I expected more from Behringer.

Musicians Friend ain't no Friend

By Dave-DrXyv

from Derry, NH

Comments about Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro EQ:

This EQ is very mediocre. I bought this as I thought it would suffice to simply eq a room and provide some boost. The boost was ok at first until I hooked it up. One channel out of the box was cooked so I called my Musician's Friend. They were no friend not only did I buy this defective equipment I bought the extended warranty to. Musicians Friend not only took my product money, warranty money, and shipping charges they took my faith in their business. The warranty I was told did not start until after Behringer's ended. So they simply said can't help ya call Behringer at this number, It wasn't even toll free!!! Musicians friend is nothing more than a cash drop. Don't expect any customer support Musicians Friend aint no friend.

Comments about Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro EQ:

Have used this for nearly a year as a feedback buster for live shows. Once you "ring out" the PA (as described in the manual) and eliminate problem spots, you will be set! Works like a champ.

FBQ 6200

By The Kid-hz4IJ

Comments about Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro EQ:

It's not what i realy expect about the feedback detection. The sound check before the show, the led's take to mush time to indicate, the feedback is so loud bust the ears before the led'd light. It's working, but we will not use it in show, only in studio or pratice. To must complaint from early fans.

Comments about Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro EQ:

1st it is not a feedback destroyer. Read the manual. It has a feedback detection wich lets you know where to high of frequency is coming throuh. Great product for your home studio or guitar rig. I only use a uber metal pedal and celan setting on my randall rh200 head then the fbq6200 and a few tweaks here and there and crystal clear sound. You're suppose to cut out frequency not higher it. But great product. 5 stars!!

Great as long as you don't need it

By Anonymous

Comments about Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro EQ:

I bought the feedback destroyer because my band's practice space was small and we were constantly fighting with feedback problems. The unit did what it was supposed to do and did it very well - no feedback. The problem was that it cut out so many frequencies that the vocalists began having problems hearing themselves well. The unit seems to have a lot of configurable options so I might have been able to get it set up so that it didn't destroy too many frequencies or be overly sensitive but to be honest I found the setup a bit complicated and didn't want to invest the time and energy into figuring it out. We did use it at some live gigs and it was excellent for that since we wanted to avoid feedback at all costs. Recently I expanded our practice space and we have also started using in-ear monitors, so the feedback problem was fixed without the ultragraph being involved. I would highly recommend this unit as a last line of defense against feedback when playing a live gig but can't recommend using it regularly for practice. The price and quality were very good. A useful addition to anyone's PA system and a good value.

Very Nice EQ!

Comments about Behringer FBQ6200 Ultragraph Pro EQ:

I needed an EQ that had a subwoofer out and didn't cost a million dollars. The FBQ6200 fit the bill, it has a subwoofer out jack. The EQ sliders have a cool feature that I didn't know about, the red LEDs on the sliders glow brighter with the intensity of the signal bands. So you can visually see what notes are showing up in whatever bands. Pretty good tool for those of us a little tone deaf. I'm using this with a JVC DVD player analog out to the FBQ6200 UltragraphPro, and then into a Yamaha MX-1 amp, finally to some Warfedale 400 towers. Very nice clean sound, don't even have to mess with the EQ too much at all. My next step is to get a amp and a 15" subwoofer to take advantage of that subwoofer-out jack on the EQ!
