    Comments about Behringer HD400:

Had my doubts about this unit because it would be my fourth one. Hooked it up as soon as I got it. Worked perfectly. Sound was crystal-clear. The previous three are going in the dump. Great product for the price.

    HD400

    Comments about Behringer HD400:

I used the unit to remove a ground loop between my computer (through the fast track ultra 8R as the fast track lacks a ground pin) and the 4 channel behringer headphone amp. I plugged this little beauty in between the headphone amp and the ultra 8R and it works perfect, saved me from buying xlr patch cables and now i can simply leave it attached in the safety of my gear rack.
Really not much to say here, Its a very simple item feature wise basic, no user adjustable parameters just plug and play.
A nice metal flake silver paint and screen printed or painted graphics, steel case apears to be about 22 gauge so it is very thin, but it will be behind my rack so this is not a concern at this point.
awesome value wise, I had been using 2 of the behringer ultra DI units to lift a ground loop on a stereo signal and they were a little less when I bought them and this now only cost me a little more and free'd the DI's to get back to the front lines.

    UPDATE Review...

    Comments about Behringer HD400:

I got it at first for my single coil guitars, it does not help with ac hum from pickups, BUT it does break ground loops, i had a pretty bad ground loop from my rackunit/mixer to my computer, so i put it between my mixer (behringer xenyx 1202fx) and my computer, ground loop is gone, and is very quiet, and very little if any signal loss. I do NOT reccomend this for guitar hum, but for ground loops it works great. I took mine apart, all it is 2 little isolation transformers, which makes sense why it works so good on ground loops.

    Excellent

    Comments about Behringer HD400:

This thing is an awesome ground loop (60 Cycle) hum eliminator. Most identical units go for twice the price.Take note, this is not a NOISE GATE. Its removes hum that is caused by GROUNDING issues, not noise due to HIGH gain or noise in your chain. If you want to eliminate noise get a noise gate like a NS2 or spend some cash and get a Decimator Gstring (if you get the Gstring you will need one of these). Also, like others have said, you need to connect this thing up correctly or it will just cause more issues or noise then without it.The way you need to use this, from the instructions, is to put it after the device in your chain that is creating the ground loop. For example, if you are running two amps in stereo, put it after the device that splits your signal and before each amp input. Im guessing thats why it has "2 inputs"For my application, my Decimator GString was creating a ground loop, so I connect one channel to the Guitar out and the other channel to the DEC out jacks on my Decimator Gstring. This break the ground loop that the Decimator is creating. So again, this product works great and does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do.

Stops ground loop hum just like it's supposed to.

    Comments about Behringer HD400:

Stops ground loop hum just like it's supposed to. I have an Alesis drum pad that was getting really bad ground loop hum from my laptop. I could only use my laptop running on battery before I bought the Behringer HD400. Now battery life isn't an issue because I can plug it in and play without hum. The Behringer HD400 isn't designed to stop single coil pickup hum, if that is your problem you should shield the cavity of your guitar. Or you could buy a clue and a guitar with humbuckers. The HD400 works quite well when used for the purpose it was designed for. And if you're a gear snob and won't get it because the brand is Behringer then you deserve to pay more for a more expensive product that does the same thing.

    Worked for me

    Comments about Behringer HD400:

I placed this between my Zoom 8-track and my Behringer active monitors. Absolutely removed the hum coming from the Zoom going out the monitor speakers. Built solid . Don't know about other applications but it worked for mine.
