OVERVIEW

Lightweight, high-density 6000-watt power amplifier

The NU6000, part of the iNUKE series from Behringer, is an extremely lightweight and durable power amplifier that will fit comfortably into any standard 19" rack with the rest of your gear. The NU6000 has a "back-to-front" ventilation system and incorporates High-Density Class-D components with "near-zero" thermal build-up, which allows the unit to run cool and avoid the need for massive heat sinks. Each channel has their own independent DC, LF, and thermal overload components that will automatically protect the amplifier and speakers to avoid any damage to your system.

The exterior of the NU6000 is manufactured with a sturdy metal housing that secures all of the internal components. The rear panel of the NU6000 has XLR and TRS input connections, and also features professional twist-lock speaker outputs that provide versatile and secure connections for your system. There are 4-segment signal and limit LED's on the front of the NU6000 that help you visually monitor performance levels. The NU6000 operates in stereo or dual-mono modes, and has a switch-mode power supply that provides noise-free audio with good transient response and low power consumption. The iNUKE series VU600 offers a durable and affordable power amplification solution for your sound system.

We are a fairly Large Church, Once a year we host an event called "Praise in the Park" Where we rent the entire Waterfront park of Buffalo. We needed to power our Subwoofer array to create a power alley. These Amps delivered! We set them up to power 4 18" subs each at a 4 Ohm load rated at 2250 per side. These amps ran cool for 9 hrs. Never over heated even though we ran them just below maximum power. The only down side is that they pull a great deal of power. We had to give each amp it's own dedicated 20 amp line of power. If you want to run an amp farm your going to need at least one circuit per amp. In other words 8 amps = 8 circuits or dedicated outlets or you will find yourself flipping breakers back on. If you feed these amps clean power they WILL deliver Bone Crushing Bass.. The kind of bass that make your eyes, and internal organs wobble! Great Job!

I have had the amp a week shy of 2 years It sounds awesome while it's working. It shutdown at a major gig with over a 1000 guest two weeks ago in the early evening. If you purchase the amp send in the registration I forgot and have to pay Behringer for the repair. A good amp should not only sound great but be dependable. Either buy two and keep the extra on hand or buy a Crown they are work horses and last a long time. I gave the Behringer a try,it's not a dependable amp if you gig a lot. Dj AL SOLeiL

Comments about Behringer iNUKE NU6000 Power Amp:

I purchased the NU6000 to power a pair of Peavey Elements outdoor full range speakers. I made a direct A/B comparison between the EP2000 and NU6000. The sound quality of the EP2000 is clearly superior so I opted to stick with the EP series and return the iNuke. There is a warmth and depth to the EP that the iNuke simply doesn't have. The iNuke is very harsh sounding compared to the EP. The EP was also dead quiet when turned on. The iNuke produced a clearly audible "buzz" through the speakers.

I also have an NU3000 for powering a Peavey Elements dual 12 inch sub. It works great for this. I would still give a slight edge to the EP for powering the sub, but it is not very noticeable and the low power draw of the NU3000 for subwoofer use I think outweighs the very slight difference in sound quality.

In summary, if you absolutely need a lightweight, inexpensive amplifier for mobile purposes, the iNuke fits the bill, but comes with some compromises in sound quality especially when paired with full range or mid/high loudspeakers.

Comments about Behringer iNUKE NU6000 Power Amp:

We bought this amp to lighten our rig, increase power, and decrease electricity consumption. I don't see a lot of people writing about this much, but a big concern for us at a lot of places we play is that we're often starving for more juice to run our amps. This one runs 10x more efficiently than the one we replaced and weighs half as much. Our first outdoor gig with this amp had me very pleased. We were able to run this amp and an additional 2000 watt powered sub off one normal circuit without losing our instruments when the bass hit. (That was normally an issue for us). I can't attest to the longevity of the amp since we've only had a behringer amp for about a year, but I will say that sound quality it is on par with more expensive brands and is much lighter. We've used peavey for 11 years and Mackie for 3 and have had good luck with those rigs (all of it still works) so hopefully this lasts a while.

as stated it doesn't have any where near the power as stated, the mono setting didn't operate, its distortion ratio was even more the nail, I'm glad I could return it and lucked out that it did have defect to enable the return

Been using my Inuke 6000 for a year.60+ performances with a loud Nirvanaish sounding band and DJ'ing UGH Rap and dance music. It will protect if you run it too loud for too long but trust me when I say this your speakers WILL be smoking by that point but still work.So congrats to Behringer for helping me BE HEARD FOR 10 years.. I also use a 10 year old beat to hell PMP5000 for a mixer. The amp still works but one side is fritzy.(Hence the INuke). Buy one and you should enjoy. I did. :)

The iNUKE 6000 amps are superior for the price and output power they are rated for. They are being utilized to power (4) 3-way tops, (2) on-stage monitors, and (2) FH subs. We have a lot of headroom when it comes to extra power, you can call power on reserve!...NUKE 'EM BABY!...

Comments about Behringer iNUKE NU6000 Power Amp:

As my review title says, I am well aware that sound snobs will tell you NOT to use Behringer gear. And some of their gear--especially in the past--has been substandard. However, I've had very good "luck" with several Behringer products. Their power amps, especially, are a bargain with excellent sound quality at an affordable price. I bought this amp to replace a 50 lb. Behringer EP4000 I've used for 6 years. That amp has been a dependable "tank"--lots of power, and just as heavy. After years of packing an amp rack around filled with class A/B amps has led me to replace them all with these lightweight class D amps. I went with Behringer because for the price, they have proven to be dependable and powerful. So I now have an iNukeNU6000, iNuke NU3000 and iNuke NU4-6000... All of which drive mains and six monitor mixes (if needed). In the small venues my bands play (no concert halls...mostly bars and private events) these amps provide more than enough sound. The quality is high. The amps stay cool. I will even be running a mix for a nationally recognized artist in a couple weeks using these amps. So I will let you know how these stand up over time. My NU3000 has held up for over two years without a problem so I expect the same from all the rest. Keeping these safely encased in an amp rack makes a huge difference in their expected lifespan.

This is another poorly built product by Behringer. Buy a better product because a good amp is important to your sound system. I read the reviews about this amp and got three of them. The wrong thing to do. The power ratings are not true, I tested the amps, they can not product the power given. One broke down after a few months and trying to get warranty work from Behringer, good luck. You will never talk to a real person. The numbers are answering machines. As a experience sound person, I should have known that the novice reviewing this product did not have any knowledge about amps. Please beware!

Comments about Behringer iNUKE NU6000 Power Amp:

I recently purchased this amp and a smaller iNuke 3000 to power my P.A. system. I run 2 18" sub woofers in mono bridge mode and 2 x 4 ohm full range cabinets each containing 2 x 15" 2 x 6" and an HF driver.

I'm running the 3000 at full throttle and the 6000 at 70%.

There was all but zero white noise at idle (you have to get right up to the mains and listen for it)and the sound was clean.

After a 3 hour gig the fans were blowing COLD air!

At just 12 lbs these amps are very easy to carry. They replaced old Peavey CS800X amps which weigh 48 lbs each. My rack went from 104 lbs down to 30 lbs and my bandmates were thanking me for the reduced weight.

My total output went from 2400 watts with the CS amps up to 9000 watts with the iNukes! We play small to medium venues and a few small outdoor gigs (carnivals, block parties, pig roasts, picnics) and although the old amps did an adequate job, I didn't have much headroom left. With the iNukes I had PLENTY of headroom.

The sound is clean and clear with no discernable distortion.

You could spend a small fortune for "better quality" brands like Crown, QSC or Yamaha or get these and have some $$$ left for other gear. If you don't try and push an amp past its capabilities you WILL get clean results. I suspect those who say Behringer products are sloppy are trying to do just that.

Get amps bigger than you need and run them at part throttle to get a clean result. For the price you can't go wrong with these light, powerful class D amps.
