I have to say I was impressed with this little guy! I had it connected to my home studio in minutes. Sound quality is good...I have it running out of a Presonus AudioBox 44vsl. I set the phones output on my AudioBox between 1/4 & 1/2 (depending on project), and the phones sound perfect. No distortion, very clear sound! Pots feel pretty good....I encourage making sure the unit is secure, it is very lightweight and could easily fall off your console if a headphone pulled on it. I plan placing velcro on mine to lock it in place. No on/off switch, but not a big deal. I run a master switch that controls all my equipment in my studio. I am very happy I purchased this little amp, excellent addition to a home recording studio!

Comments about Behringer MICROAMP HA400 Headphone Amp:

This little guy was exactly what I needed. It's compact, strong enough to pack in a bag and move over and over again, and it splits a stereo signal from one headphone out to four. It's made a huge difference in my home recording process. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Comments about Behringer MICROAMP HA400 Headphone Amp:

Comparing with iPhone; listening critically with headphones plugged directly in, then comparing it with the iPhone running through the amp and there is no noticeable loss in quality! Can still hear the small detailed noises of the guitars, the ringing of cymbals, the bass is still clear and deep.
It is an amp, so it will definitely be much louder with both devices turned up all the way, so for the sake of my hearing and the headphones, I only turned it up as loud as I could bear.
Gain controls are smooth and firm.
Can't find anything wrong with it. It's a simple device, so I'd say it's flawless for it's function!

Comments about Behringer MICROAMP HA400 Headphone Amp:

People like to whine about Behringer gear; they say it's cheap and flimsy, or it doesn't compare to the "pro brands." Truthfully, it depends what you're buying. I've had Behringer effects pedals and amps that I've truly hated, but I've experienced a great deal of their live sound/studio equipment and, frankly, I'm usually impressed. Think about what this is, in essence: a powered splitter. Unless the connections get wonky down the road (which I don't expect, given the solid metal chassis) there's not much they could have screwed up in there. This box does exactly what I need it to do without complaint. Good on you, Behringer!

I bought this for my studio as headphone splitters were distorting the output signal. Currently I have 3 headphones and a pair of monitors plugged into this. They all sound crystal clear with no dist. at all. Good price. nice knobs, very durable design. Very pleased with this.

Behringer MICROAMP HA400 Headphone Amp - does what it's supposed to

              By Jason Bronson

Comments about Behringer MICROAMP HA400 Headphone Amp:

The Behringer MICROAMP HA400 Headphone Amp is a great little product that is a perfect tool for my home studio. At about half the price of other similar products, it's a great value. I've seen a couple of reviewers say it isn't loud enough, but that certainly hasn't been my experience - this thing puts out plenty of volume if you've got all your other levels set correctly. The one minor complaint I have is the lack of a power switch - you have to unplug the AC adapter to turn it off. If you know audio gear, then you know Behringer's reputation has really tanked in the last several years; unless this product suddenly starts developing problems like dropping channels or shorting out on me, I'd say it's an exception to the "steer clear of Behringer" rule.
It doesn't have a lot of "features," but it has plenty of value for the price and it does what it's supposed to do.
The housing and knobs feel solid and sturdy. The sound is good - I'm using fairly cheap headphones to record punk/indie rock with a band, and everyone is able to hear clearly even when guitars and drums are loud in the studio. It has rubber feet that help keep it in place on a desktop, and its somewhat surprising heft adds to that stability, especially when plugging in cables and turning the knobs. I've only had it for a couple of weeks but its been used several times with no problems whatsoever.
Great price on this product. Simple as that.

              Solid little headphone amp.

              from The Midwestâ„¢

Comments about Behringer MICROAMP HA400 Headphone Amp:

There aren't a lot of features here, because it's a 4-channel headphone amp. The volume knobs work, and unlike the monitor jack on my mixer, it has more than enough power to drive my Sennheiser HD-205 IIs. I didn't have any issues with the sound quality. There seems to be plenty of headroom and useable gain for what I do. I don't have to hand headphones off to musicians recording takes, and the HA400 lets me monitor on my cans and hear what the artist is hearing. It's a fine basic building block for any small project studio where up to 4 folks might need to hear the same signal.
Will it make you sound like Bob Clearmountain? Probably not. Nary a tube in sight, no eq, no special sauce to be seen. It's a 4-channel headphone amp. It powers four pairs of headphones from a single quarter inch TRS cable. That's it. It's not rocket science. The HA400 is simple and affordable.
The enclosure is solid. The knobs feel a little gritty, but it's not a dealbreaker for me. The sound is transparent enough for my purposes.
I got mine for a great price, which seems quite reasonable.

Comments about Behringer MICROAMP HA400 Headphone Amp:

This is a very useful product.
This amp has separate controls for each headphone which is what I was looking for. Works great.
I think the quality is good. The box seems quite sturdy. I am very pleased
I bought this to use with my band; the Prairieland Pickers.
Since we did not want to go wireless, we use this amp straight off the sound mixer instead of relying on stage monitors which allows us to have wired earbuds to hear one another. Since we are a sit down band and don't move around, this works very well.
