Not Bad for a Baby EQ

I Have Had one of these for a couple of years now; Where it has sat between my mixer's output and multi-track and for most part (shame on me) has been inactive.. The Other day however I decided to wire it directly between my Boss GT-10 and my mixer... LOL Nice... Through my Monitors, PA and Headphones It adds depth of sound and spatial quality to my guitar's "every day" sound. It also enables me to remove some of the annoyances from my guitar's output that the tone control cannot normally adequately handle which comes in especially useful in different acoustic environments or when switching between instruments. If you are new to EQ's get one of these "dirt cheap and works" EQ's and play around with it in your signal chain. Once you get the knack of using it you well find it invaluable for on the fly signal adjustments. This Little Behringer MINIFBQ does such a good, quiet and valuable job I just had to order the The Behringer DEQ1024 just for the fun of seeing what that beast can do.

After getting a new pair of subs I thought this would help boost the bassy punch in my kick drum.  I was getting mostly mid-tone before, since I got bottom of the line mics (I'm cheap) and this thing was such a steal that I couldn't resist.  Unfortunately it doesn't capture the low end very well at all.  In fact, I would say that the 63 and the 125 Hz channels could be removed and it would not effect the performance of this thing.  It spent about a year collecting dust til I started using it to help mic my ukulele, and it works great with that.  The little nylon strings aren't really impressive live and this really made it sound full and strong and not toy-ish. Good high-mid range and sucky/no low.  I can't say it's not usefull, but not really what I wanted.

I had this for about a week now and it is still great. I felt I needed a eq to help my speakers with the high frequencys, they kept on giving to much high end treble which this can fix. It can also be good for some songs that just sound horrible.

First off, there is a definitely an un-tapped market for for this type of device. I was looking for a small destop EQ for my computer. I didn't need any thing fancy and 9 bands was perfect. This EQ was just what I needed. Sadly though, this device seemed to make the sound less punchy than without it. Although I could shape the sound, it completely lost its life. It just felt like I every song I played I had to start tweaking it to get it to sound right. What sealed the coffin on this for me was after about a week with it, the right channel started crackeling and was noisy. It will be going back to vendor. I wish more companies would manufacture a device like this, I think it is an untapped market.
