I have owned this for a little over two years now and have to say this is THE best value I have ever bought. I use it 2 to 3 times a week (over 320 shows so far) for a blues/country band and a blues jam. It has enough power (with good speakers) to fill a 100 person club. I use it with one channel running the mains and the other the monitors. It works really well this way and seems to have good balance. This smaller lighter unit is ideal for gigs where you need to run the sound from the stage. The protection circuits really do work! (may have to restart the unit after it protects). I haul it around in a Gig Skinz ? pretty good case but have dropped it a couple of times and the back two legs are a little bent now. No damage to the unit though ? seems that hard knocks won?t upset the PHM1000. The only thing I can think of that would make it better is FireWire out ? actually this applies to all Behringer mixers. They seem to be about 3 years behind on this (USB is the wrong answer).

I was smitten with the features, portability, light weight, design and bought one. There was a distortion in the sound at various pitches. I tried every possibility for set up and it was definitely the mixer. I contacted the company, sent the unit back and they sent me a new one. Exact same problem. Behringer support still simply advised how to set it up properly. So I sent it back and got a Yamaha EMX212s and it is great! After owning many of Behringer's products, they let me down this time.

Great Value

Although mine is more powerful than the specs listed for some reason - my PMH1000 600Watt @ 8ohm in bridge mode, 300watt @ 4ohm, or 150watt @8ohm. It is a quality product with nice features. The sound quality is studio clear, and when the volume is punched up, has a great sound as well. I have been very satisfied with it. I also own a PMH2000, and will post an equally satisfactory review for it.

Great mixer, underpowered though

I got this mixer a few moths ago and i got one 150 watt speaker. (I paid as much for the speaker as i did for the mixer) It's sounds very good, epecially with my SM58. I run my guitars, a keyboard and a bass through it regularly. I use it mostly at home so the power problem isn't a huge issue so if you need lots of power pretend this is an unpowered mixer. The effects are fun to play with altough some are useless. You have to take care of the faders though because they are cheap and will break. I like the EQ and how it lights up when active. and there are plenty of inputs. Overall great buy for home, practice or SMALL gigs.

Great mixer, weak amp

By RockPreacher

from Ashdown, Arkansas

The Behringer PMH1000 is a great little mixer. It does everything I could want with the exception of a weak amp. I had to purchase a separate power amp to get the volume I need. We use it with our church youth band and for sound with our video projector. Excellent value for the money with great features.

Great Bang For not so Many Bucks

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I Have had this amp for about a year now, but it's been over at my friends house the majority of the time. I've been keeping it at my home for a few weeks now. This thing rocks. It has pretty decent volume, but if your doing a decent size gig you'll need another amp. It has line outs for it though. The only thing i don't like is there is no USP port, so i had to buy a sound card for my computer. Other, than that It's great.Best bang for a broke musician.

Great Product for the $$

By Nick-1bKQj

I Use this Mixer everyday at home in studio to practice with. And use it in concerts every weekend, power wise it does well in small to medium size churches. Large venues though it is a great mixer but I use an amp with larger speakers. Overall you can't beat the Behringer brand. They put great quality into everything they make.

Grear for my first 12 channel board

The Beheringer 1000 is a great board. for the price that I paid for it, i think its worth it all.I will learn it slowly but surely. i have a Crate CMX42P and a Kustom. The sound quality of the Behringer is greater than that of the Crate. i have more features with this board than the others. The voice canceler dooesn't work as well as I expected but it to. it cancels sone of the music as well.

Another perfect price-point hit by Behringer

I installed this mixer in a tiny pub for acoustic music, and gave it a test-drive for an open mic night. I was very pleased with the ease-of-use, and the sound quality is better than some older MX series mixers I've used. The worst complaints are that the meters lie, a dummy-proofing effort to prevent overdriving the amps, and the stereo line strips don't have a left/mono input option, while the stereo inputs that don't have EQ etc do have that option. The good news is that it may actually have two 300W amps, like the logo on the actual mixer says.

good choice

By Joyful noise

Just got this mixer about a week ago, then i read some of the reviews here about it being underpowered. it made me weak in the knees, i thougth I bought the wrong product for what i need. So I used it with our speakers at my church and it did sound under powered. so i started researching for the best speaker to install. Now I just got a pair of speakers and it works great. its not underpowered at all. just need to select the right speaker. So if you're thinking of buying this, couple it with a pair of speakers with a sensitivity of not less than 95 1w/1m. dont worry about the wattage too much. it will put you off.

A great powered mixer

By christopher burton

from Phila., PA

I think this mixer is a great start for a small band. It amasing how light it is with so much inputs and the sound is so digital and setreo like you are in a real studio. I noticed a lack of power in main/moniter mode but when you add the equilizer and more trim its not as bad. nice job Behringer for making a good mixer for people who dont want to go too much out there pockets. I give it two thumps up

I bought this unit about 6 months ago,and I am very happy with the unit. I play mainly in single or duo settings, so being very loud is not a concern of mine. The clean sound it puts out is very good. I can't say much for the echo and reverb effects, I've yet to find a setting I reall like. But for the price, you can't beat it.
