As a 20+ year professional gigging vocalist and recent DJ I can tell this EQ does an excellent job managing the sound of my QSC sound system, for almost two years now. The sweepable high- and low-cut channel filters and EQ feedback detection has saved my rock band's sound and QSC speakers from damage several times. I love the high-low cut feature. My unit runs a clean sound without issue so to the so called "sound experts" commenting it's junk or a tin can, you may want to check your cables and other gear for damage. This unit hasn't failed me yet so don't be so quick to judge. It's not like you can't return it after trying it for yourself.

Unit will not control HZ correctly. Features useless.
Well I went through all the reviews and decided to try this out. I spent 4 hours working with it and my conclusion is that for live sound especially drums this unit is worthless. It may work for your home stero but for real control of the HZ without a bunch of crossover between frequancies I would deffinitly not recommend this to anyone. I tested it on a drum set and set up a low frequancy feedback. I then tweeked all the Loz Hz sliders down and the feedback stayed no change. The feeback indicators showed nothing. I then used my Mackie board, CFX 16 and did the same thing and it worked fine getting rid of the feedback. All this thing seems to do is boost frequancies and very little to nothing to cut low frequancies. Not impressed my old 1980's Peavey 31 works far better than this thing ever thought of doing. Do not waste you time or your money. I have been doing Sound and Live Gigs as a drummer for over 45 years and this thing is JUNK.
Switches stick, Feedback indicator dosent show the frequancy feeding back. Crosstalk between frequancy very high.
Dose not do its intended purpose controling HZ

Dont get it!

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

It might just be my luck, but both Behringer products i have owned really have not pleased me. Behringer make equipment that seems amazing at a low price, which behringer really show by the poor quality of their products. I will not be purchasing anything from behringer in a hurry
For the price of this unit, there are some really good features, it seams, with an adjustable low cut and high cut filter, and also a low pass output on the rear. The low pass output however does not have a separate level control, and also the low cut filter also cuts the bass on the low pass output aswell, and also these features only seem to have a slope of 6dB/octave. The FBQ feature is more of an analyser than a feedback detector.
This is one place where you can really tell it is a cheep graphic. The frequency faders feel cheep and 'dry', not smooth like all other graphics from difference manufactuers. You also have to be very carefull with it for your P.A. as i am finding the dBu readings to be very inaccurate. Also, the sound quality, amazing at lower volumes, but getting to higher volumes where and eq is needed the most, this eq seems to be sending out a dirty signal, even though the input is reading -8dB and -12dB output. There is major distortion, even if you turn the bass back. If i bypass the EQ there are no problems at all. So in my opinion, if you want to get a good sound at high volumes aswell as low volumes, this eq is useless.

Great EQ, not so great xover

By Steve-hQ4ZF

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

As an equalizer alone, it is amazing! I use it in my studio to fine tune my monitors for my less than perfect room, and the sound quality is truly amazing. However, the crossover is noisy! No matter what I do I cannot get by sub up to a reasonable volume without static, and I know for sure it isn't my $400 sub. It doesn't feel that great, I love the metal casing but the EQ sliders feel very cheap. They are not as smooth as I'd like and they just don't feel that sturdy. For the money it's a great buy! Just not ideal for use in a studio.

One channel went out about 18 months after I purchased it. It would block the effects out of the monitor, while the other channel worked fine. Im glad I had the extra coverage to get money back from the unit. There are better units out there.

Hello noise!

By bryce burke

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

I used to think this eq was ok, but ever since I became accustomed to hearing better gear. I realized that it wasn't as good as I'd thought it to be. It's probably the noisiest piece of rack gear that I've ever heard. A hobbyist will enjoy it, and a pro will tend to stay away. If you're searching for clearer quality, then this unit is NOT for you. Even though a 31 band should have precision, I feel like this one sucks all the life out of the signal!

This is a great unit for the money

By FeelTheLove

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

I'm using this unit on my high-end Klipsch home audio system as an EQ on a QSC RHX850 Amp. It was a downright bargain, given the price and the things I can do with it. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the sub-woofer level control (hard to get at in the rack), but that was not a big deal. Otherwise, I absolutely loved this unit.

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

Other Owners have had some complaints, and they may have recieved a faulty unit, but I have
NEVER had problems with any Behringer Product, and I own many.
Features here are amazing. This is the 2nd Unit I've purchased for my Recordings. Never had any problems. The Low/High Cut Filters are terrific, and they do just what they are supposed to do. The 31 Bands enable precise cut/boost anywhere in the frequency spectrum. It may take someone who is new to high quality EQ's to get control of everything, but just follow the instructions, listen closely, and you will soon be making some improvements in your sound.
All Faders and Knobs have smooth operation. Well constructed Unit.
Absolutely amazing value!
There is no other Brand that I trust to use in my Home Recordings, not in this price range. For your hard earned money, you get more than your money's worth.

Great! Cheap!

By dennis russell

from Santa Barbara, CA

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

I got this unit because I play in an acoustic/old-time/early country band. We like to use mics rather than pickups, which makes feedback a potential problem. Ring out the room/sound system with this unit and feedback is nearly non-existent.
My only criticism is that the faders on the individual bands could feel a bit more solid. Considering features vs. price, however, I'm willing to deal with that.
Just as advertised: 31 bands, feedback indicators, limiting. Just what one would expect an EQ to have.
Sound quality is excellent. Nice and transparent. In the two rigs I use it with there is no significant noise added by this unit.
I've marked down 3 points because faders themselves feel a bit flimsy, other than that I very happy with it. I've had other Behringer products and not had any problems with them. This one seems to be similar in materials and features.
I've found Behringer products to be reliabe and great products for the money. This unit is as well.

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

We have one these things at my place of work, and this thing is a nightmare to use. it doesn't do what its supposed to do. I can't get any decent signal to come out of this thing, no matter how much I adjust it. I'm still kind of new to doing live sound, but all i know is that this thing sucks. The best signal i can probably get is a flat, neutral signal, and I just use the on board eq on our mixer. The feedback reader doesn't work properly. I have to aimlessly look for the frequencies that are feeding back. If your opening a venue or starting your career in live sound or preforming, do not buy it.

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

Have had this in use for a couple months now and couldn't be happier with it. The ONLY reason I gave it a 4.5 on features is once it's mounted in a rack case the sub crossover is difficult to adjust being on the back of the unit, but it's not changed too often so it's a minor thing. Great Behringer quality and packed with features. The feedback detection feature works great, you can adjust out feedback without loosing full frequency ranges like feedback destroyers tend to do.

    Great Unit for the Money

    By Soundy Guy/ Musician

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

Started out with two of these I've been using on my 4 monitor runs and they work great. I rarely if ever use the feedback detection thingy but it does work. These are quiet units and offer both 1/4 inch and XLR I/O and work well for me. I bought a more expensive brand X unit for my 10,000 watt stereo FOH rig and wasn't happy with the noise it created. I was in a pinch and bought a third one of these to use "temporarily" FOH and it is as dead quiet as the two on my monitors. I now PROUDLY use the 3102 in my FOH rack and have no problems with it. Sure it might not have as smooth faders or refined looks as brand X, but it does the job for me rather nicely. Maybe not what you'd see in a pro studio or touring pro road system but for your average joe musician/sound guy like me, it does the job and people are impressed. Function over form baby!

Comments about Behringer Ultragraph Pro FBQ3102 EQ:

Bought this EQ a few years ago. It is still working great. I use it in my main front of house and monitor rigs. Anyone who knows how to ring out the EQ will have no problem with this EQ. I have used EQs many thousands $$$ more costly ... but in the end - any EQ that does its job with no extra noise is all it takes. This EQ is that good. In fact - sold other very expensive EQs and switched to this EQ exclusively for live rigs. Can't go wrong with this EQ - highly recommended.

Lots of tone shaping available with this unit...more than I've ever had. Combined with the Behringer RX1202FX mixer, the overall sound of my home studio is improved. Very quiet. Especially like the shaping of the bass tones - allowed removal of the "muddy" (floor mounted subwoofer) while bringing out the "crisp", with more punch.
