Behringer

Perfect for small groups or as a studio cornerstone.

The Behringer Xenyx 1002 mixing console has 10 inputs and an FX send control for each channel. Assignable CD/tape inputs have been incorporated for routing flexibility. Behringer's innovative and affordable Xenyx mixers provide the home recordist and club musician with pristine sound quality and cutting-edge features for very little outlay. The Xenyx Mic Preamp approaches the sound quality, transparency, headroom, and even the dynamic range of boutique-style, standalone mic preamps. Behringer's neo-classic "British EQ" brings back the warmth and musicality of those '60s and '70s mega-console desks that made music history.

  • Premium ultra low-noise, high headroom analog mixer

  • Neo-classic "British" 3-band EQs for warm and musical sound
  • 1 post fader FX send per channel for external FX devices
  • Main mix outputs plus separate control room, phones and stereo CD/tape outputs
  • CD/tape inputs assignable to main mix or control room/phones outputs

Workhorse Mixer

Features:

Give it a 7 since only so many features can be crowded onto such a small device.

Quality:

This is my third small Beringer mixer and the previous two are over a decade old & still going strong.

Value:

Value is excellent.  Quality & logevity at a modest price equals value.

Overall:

Overall this is a great little mixer.  Have used them for live recordings and never been disappointed. But be aware that the mic preamps are quite noisy, so if using to record anything other than loud rock, country, etc. then pay more for quieter mic pres.

I used this as my in ear monitor mixer on stage.  It lasted 100s of gigs over about 5 years.  I finaly had the main slider give out last night.  I'll probably pic up another one just like it.

I mainly bought this mixer just to power my headphones for when I'm playing along with songs on my drums. This mixer gave me more than enough power for that. To my surprise I discovered that this mixer is also great for recording vocals and electric and acoustic/electric guitars. I have not tried to record drums with this, but I will and I believe it will get the job done with some over head condensers. This mixer is a huge step up from recording my band's songs with a chat mic. Buy it now!
