I Had one of these for 2 weeks. I purchased it for a small Karaoke gig That I have an Employee Run for me most of the time. I use Behringer 2031A Active Studio Monitors for Mains,(Small Bar)and a computor Based Karaoke System. The Musical part(The Computer sound feed)sounded fine but i use Gemsound Cheapy Mics(Roudy Bar Prone to Broken Mics). The Gain had to be set nearly wide open and even then the "Sweet Spot" was so small it was nearly Impossible to mix correctly for so many different singers. Overall it was a good Mixer for the Price But did not fill my needs so I returned it and got a Mackie DFX 6 and I Love it, My Employees Love it and My Customers Love it.It Didn't come with a USB Hookup but the same thing can done using the "Tape Out" to your "Line In" on your PC if your sound card is 24 Bit and Mine is however I don't use this to record...Yet.Behringer Makes good Products at fair prices. This is a good unit and I would recomend it if you cannot come up with the extra $ to get the Mackie Mixer. If you can,Just do it. even with less features it really does sound that much better. I still like Behringer but Mackie gets My vote every time! Spend carfully, shop smart your Paycheck may depend on it someday.

I had been looking forward to getting this mixer for a long time. After using it for less than a week, the FX send began to hiss really loudly . . . it did that a few times after that, then finally quit working altogether. Disappointment!I'm not sure how common this defect is. I will return mine all the same, and try an Alesis. On a positive note, the effects on this mixer sound pretty good (although they cannot be modified); and the USB connector turned out to be a viable computer interface.

    Killer Mixer

    Ask me a question

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1204FX Mixer:

I bought this Behringer Xenyx model to replace my Mackie 1202 - what an improvement! I use it in my studio and live. The best FX presets for vocals are #s 00 and 80 - killer chorus that will have the audience's attention guaranteed! I am a composer of pop rock music - collaborators are asking me what plug-ins I'm using in mixing production ; )) Definite buy!

    Sound software

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1204FX Mixer:

The mixer is a beautiful piece of work. It works like a charm and the effects are great. However, the energyXT2 that comes with it to interface with the computer is certainally not plugg and play. It is clumsy at best and I still haven't been able to record anything with it. Very very disappointing. I am going to try another cpu interface as this one simply wont work for me, althought the board is great. Also there are virtually no tutorials to get one started to record. It is NOT plug and play.

    Great little Mixer

    By Matt-77G_A

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1204FX Mixer:

I bought this board about a year ago. Today, no problems at all. I use it for small recording projects. It is very durible also. I had it out at an event several months ago and someone knocked it off the table and it fell to the floor. I little dent on the bottom edge by the mains control. But it still works like a charm. Behringer is one of my favorites. But this is not big enough to use for live mixing, just for small projects here and there. Buy this product is that is something you are wanting to do!

    Behringer XENYX 1204FX

    By Pastor

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1204FX Mixer:

I purchased the Behringer XENYX 1204FX to mix sound for weekly sermon radio program that myself and a fellow minister produces for a local radio program. At first we were using Shure SM 58 mics that did not require Phamton power. The Behringer XENYX 1204FX gain adjust had to be set at 100%. It was difficult to mix and adjust but the sound was still great. I decided to purchase 2 studio mics that required phamton power. The mixing board now works great. The gain pot is set at approximately 50% and the board controls and sound is much easier to control. I had a learning curve. So the bottom line is make sure you have mics that requires phamtom power. If not you may have some difficulty. Pastor

    excellent for starting out!

    By tlctog-JHwr9

    from Alaska!

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1204FX Mixer:

I bought this mixer because I wanted to step up from my old cassette 4-track. I like to get my song ideas recorded and go back later and listen to them, and with the cassette recorder this was cumbersome. The Behringer allows me to hook up right to my computer, where I can easily access any idea at any time. I've always had good luck with Behringer products (I own this, mics, guitar and bass amps and have never had any problems) and I would say the workmanship and feel of the controls surpass any other mixer at this price range. I would highly recommend this inexpensive piece of equipment if you are just starting out in recording but want something with decent effects and intuitive usability.

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1204FX Mixer:

I was looking for a mixer with a good amount of imputs and at least three types of outputs. this mixer has more than proven its self to be high quality. The only complant that i have is that i wish it had an additional out puts such as sub 1-4, over all very good buy.

    About what you'd expect

    By Scott-BhSZG

    from Omaha, NE

Comments about Behringer XENYX 1204FX Mixer:

The price is good for what you get. The gain pot on channel two has an issue so I will need to send it in for repair. The effects are decent but I like the effects on the Alesis multimix better. I think the eq on the Eurorack series was actually more to my liking. Ah, well. Can't win 'em all.
