As I am writing this, I am waiting for my second FX1222 following the failure of my first one after 2 days. I could have done a straight return - but I thought the FX1222 had a lot to offer for the money so I had enough confidence in the excellent return policy to take another chance. I shopped hard to find a different replacement and felt nothing had the functionality for the price (inputs, FX, other features). For the two days my first one was working, like others writing reviews, I was super impressed and wondered why it took me so long to find this little gem. Then on day three - Channel three completely died. I even thought about keeping it with just one less channel to use, but decided not to. I'm also thinking about ordering another one (at this great price) just to carry along as a back-up - I wouldn't want to be ready to perform somewhere where I only had my equipment to rely on and find out my mixer was dead. Hopefully, I can get a good year out of the next one that's en route at this moment.

This review is for the Behringer Xenyx 1222fx MixerThe main problem that I have with this board is that it failed after only a few uses, and for no apparent reason. one day I had it set up using only two of the six single mic inputs, without using phantom power, everything sounded fine, (which don't get me wrong, for features and sound quality this board is pretty decent) but then I powered down the board and left it alone for a day or two. The next time I turned it on, channels 1-8 had no volume except for with the gain and channel faders cranked all the way up, which for some reason a less than 1/32" turn on the gain knob would cause the clip light to come on constant, along with the level set light. Also all of the faders and pots feel crunchy, not smooth when being used. Keep in mind this is a board that was very well taken care of, has only been moved once from where it was setup in my house, has never had anything spilled on it/dropped on it/been used incorrectly (in truth it was only actually used a half dozen times). I suggest anybody interested in purchasing a behringer product look up some information on their products, there are a lot of people who have problems with early failure using Behringer equipment. It should be reasonable to expect that any piece of gear should last through far more than a half dozen uses and still perform flawlessly.

Sounds Great when it is working!

By Frank M-hF1Wn

from Seattle, WA

I have owned 4 Behringer Mixers now. The first one failed miserably the second lasted 3 months. Now i have 2 of these 1222FX boards. Just returned the first one after 8 months. The effects channel "went bad" on it, making all kinds of noise all of a sudden for no reason. Prompt return, so we will see how it goes from here.Let me say this, when this product is working, the board sounds sweet. It is very quiet, the effects are decent and it comes with a compressor feature also it is rack mountable. Let me note it is the only board at this price point that is rack mountable. Mackie Pro fx boards are similar but not rackable. Best features at this price and sounds very good, but the quality SUCKS. Keep your box, packing materials and receipt. I know some folks who have had their Behringer boards for years, just be prepared to go through a few of them until you can find one that will hold together.

GREAT MIXER, GREAT PRICE.....

By Hawaiian Axe

from Hawaii

I would put this mixer up against Mackie cfx12, or Yamaha Mg12 anyday month or time of the year. I was not a big fan of behringer mixers but one of my friends let me use it for one gig and I was sold. XENYX series is behringer best right now, and for the price you can't go wrong I use this mixer 5 days a week for the last year so far so good!!!!

It is what it is worth

By Citson

I use this product in my home studio for recording, it has great features but the quality is really bad, the right fader doesn't work and the right output doesn't sound, it is a cheap mixer.

good board

I got this board to run a mix for my home recording studio, and so far have been pleased. You get a good solid and consistent sound. I am pretty impressed with the 24-bit multi-fx processor which really kicks this board up a notch. My only issues were that it took my a while to get the board to read any kind of signal. and during recording I always get a hum reguardless of which insrument is being used. other than that it's a great board that gives you a little more than you payed for.

This is Great!!!

By havenman

from South Bend, IN

I just got this mixer four days ago, and let me say I was a little hesitant. I wanted the bigger ones. But I found this at a good price and bought it. I love it. The knobs are so smooth and the FX are nice. The preamps are great. Creating a smooth rich tone with my recording mic. I love this mixer. This is a great affordable mixer for beginners. It is a little bigger than I thought, but hey, it is worth it. This is a good mixer.

vocal duo

By The Carriers

from Beverly Hills FL

Just got the 1222fx Zenox mixer about a month ago. It is very easy to use and well thought out. Have used peavey for years and will continue to use some of their products but their new line of mixers do not compare with this.Only negative I have is when I use xrl corded type mics they crackel and cut out in channel 2 and the effects seem to come and go but nice other than that.

Behringer Mixer....AMAZNG!!!!

By AWAREofBEARS

from Santa Cruz, Ca

The only word that comes to mind when i use this mixer is "WOW". Ease of use is amazing, do not let the price fool you. I am a recording artist in an ambient indie rock band and we are more stoked than ever for this little thing. With in minutes i was recording straight to my laptop. DO NOT HESITATE, BUY THIS MIXER. You get your bang for your buck 1000 times over. I feel like sending more money to musicians friend, it feels like stealing for the price.
