Behringer

Premium 5-input mixer with XENYX mic preamp and USB/audio interface.

The XENYX 302USB is ideally suited for a small home studio or the on-the-go recording enthusiast. At approximately 4" long and 5" wide (117 x 135 mm), the XENYX 302USB respects your desk space, while providing an XLR & 1/4" combination socket, stereo USB/Line channel plus a dedicated 2-Track input.

Small, but mighty!
Don’t let the XENYX 302USB’s diminutive size fool you—this little gem is loaded with features typically reserved for larger, more expensive mixers. For instance, we equipped the Mic input with our XENYX mic preamp, which is legendary for its sonic clarity and high-headroom performance. Behringer also gave the Mic and Line/USB channels our 2-band British-style EQs (Low and High), and provide a 2-Track input that can be assigned to either the Main Mix or Phones.

You can even power the XENYX 302USB from your computer’s USB port, which is great for capturing the sounds of migratory birds in flight, or for posting your podcast straight to the Web. Sports announcers, radio and TV reporters will definitely want one of these in their field bag. Incredible sonic performance, versatility and extreme value in a small package—that’s the XENYX 302USB!

I Love this thing. After years of demoing and recording material I have collected quite a bit of stuff, but this thing is awesome. I will probably buy a couple more. Fits very easily on my gear laden desktop because of its size. I have heard people talk of issues with humming and buzzing but I suspect that is a PC issue or something cause mine is fine. I have not got to use this to its potential yet but so far so amazing. I hear people say bad things about behringer but I own a couple pieces from them and I have been extremely satisfied every time. This especially, just plug it in set your DAW to recognize and there you go. I was able to use it 5 min after the unboxing. For me it took over my audio on the PC but thats not a bad thing when the mixer is plugged in all sound goes through the mixer. Unplugged it goes through the PC speakers. Thats awesome cause I spend alot of time on youtube and to have it ported through a mixer is something i didnt even know i wanted lol. This mixer is beneficial for making good guitar tutorial videos for youtube. BUY THIS if your looking for an easy inexpensive audio interface. It is a tiny MONSTER! For the money this is the best deal. The only thing better would be to have efx built in but for a little more money you could get that from behringer too.
This is ideal for amatuer recording and demoing at home, pod casting, making youtube videos. Nice metal chasis seems like it will last for years. Just get this if your trying to decide its worth the money.

Firstly, I received this unit very promptly from Musician's Friend. Thank You for your continued good service. Now, This Behringer mixer that I paid extra for USB connectivity, makes a very loud continuous noise if you use the USB for power. The mixer works OK but I paid for USB and I Can't use it. I would not buy any Behringer products again.

Comments about Behringer XENYX 302USB Mixer:

In my home recording studio, I have and use 8-channel and 12-channel XENEX mixers, and am very happy with them. But I needed a simple and ultra-portable mixer to do only two things: serve as a microphone pre-amp for our voice narrations at our multi-media shows, and also feed video and audio sound from a laptop computer to the same portable speaker system. The 302USB is perfect for this task, and performs very well.

Use it to increase the audio output of an iPad Mini. I have two other Behringer mixers that will do the same thing, but take up too much space for one specific use. This mixer is perfect!

Comments about Behringer XENYX 302USB Mixer:

I am one of the die hard fans of the Rockband games, I like sitting around and having a beer sometimes with friends, while playing rockband, I think the dinky usb mic that came with the game is kind of cheesy, it might be okay but between the lack of adjustments and only a mic volume adjustment on the game sucked I wanted something better to work on my vocals. I have a keyboard and a real guitar but this is a nice way to incorporate music involvement and appreciation in a different setting. I first just tried a different mic a samson q2u I think, cause it have usb and xlr and headphones out, but still didn't give me the adjustments I needed for sound monitoring with the ps3. Not the mics fault is the ps3 and the games fault. So I got this unit and the options are great, and yes will connect straight to the ps3 and will read it as an audio input device and you can just plug a mic into this mixer, the mic will actually do both the usb and xlr at the same time but the setup I like the best is that I have separates meaning I have an older marantz preamp I just got and a technical pro 4100 watt rackmountable amp for my main setup I just got too, and the ps3 goes to the preamp and then I have 2 "Y" cables that come out of there one goes to this mixer and the other to the amp. I use the xlr connector from the mic to this mixer and use line in from the ps3 sound and channel it just to the headphones instead of main out only the mic goes to main usb out, but this way I can mix them together to give me the optimal headphone out from the mic and the sound from the ps3 rockband game with the adjustments I was looking for. when I dont do this and watch regular tv I reconnect and come from the preamp to the mixer to use the gain and eq help then go to the amp, I am trying to run a custom setting with all this stuff that suits my purpose for the speakers I built too, and this little thing seems to help really good for now, I may get an extra 31 band eq later down the road but for what I am trying to do now this think is pretty versatile, I only wished it had more selection options so I didn't have to rewire it each time like having the mic go to usb out and the other channel so I could continue to use the channel input gain settings to the amp, but most people probably wont use a setup like this I am using a pro audio amp with a home av-preamp and I think the signals are setup differently cause I dont think I get enough signal output out of the preamp that I would like, but the sound quality is so much better than the old sony reciever I had, but for this setup really helps and proabably the best model because of the rca jacks and 3.5mm headphone connectors, off switch would be nice have to unplug usb cable every night to turn off is all.

Comments about Behringer XENYX 302USB Mixer:

You can't beat it for the price. Its a budget friendly mixer / interface so its not fair to compare it to higher end products. You won't be disappointed but you will want to upgrade when you can afford better. Download a driver from the Behringer site. I tried the ASIO4ALL driver but the Behringer USB driver seems to work best for me.

For experienced users, documentation should include a block diagram ('view sheet') like their other mixers.

Very flexible and compact. Ubuntu 12.04LTS has driver. A very good deal, especially with a 3 year warranty.

          Very satisfied.
