Comments about Behringer XENYX XL2400 Live Mixer:
i have some behringer's product on my studio, they all work fine. i wonder why so many people complaining about it. if its broke easily that maybe coz you're not careful enough. i bought this product as replacement of xl2442fx, 4 years using behringer 2442fx mixer, only once a little issue that some noice comes out of it. but after repair, it works just fine. and i continue my trust to behringer by using this xl 2400
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL2400 Live Mixer:
Not sure that I can trust Behringer products at all anymore.
Features are fine; if they only worked...
Broke under warranty. Cost ~$60 to ship it for repair. Returned with same problems a few weeks later. Behringer absolutely no help. I own other Behringer stuff and it's not the highest quality but usually works during the warranty period.
Total waste of my church's money.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL2400 Live Mixer:
I want to like Behringer, really I do. I believe Uli Behringer is a tremendous businessman, and some of their products are stellar like their Virtualizer, DI boxes, and Truth Monitors. I use the Behringer rack mixer in a studio, and it performs well, however....
I'm primarily writing the review as means of a genuine caveat for other musicians who really are considering this desk. Listen to what your gut is telling you. It's not junk, but I feel you better have the number for a local tech who is prepared to work on Behringer after the warranty runs out.
I don't think I've ever given a '1' rating before, however this mixer rightfully deserves it. Here was how I was greeted personally with my Behringer Mixer today.
1) Specifically sub groups 1/2 were DOA staright out of the box.
2) Monitor outs failed to work on the left channel
3) Channel bleed through was really notable, with audible clicks and popping present constantly-subtle, but still not to any real working standard. I'm not a nit picker, but these three significant issues straight out of the box speaks volumes with regard to a seriously lacking quality control system in place.
4) The shell material is so thin that simply pressing buss switches causes the frame to bend and sway. As of this writing there is another Xenyx series mixer here with a bent frame. I believe it would take only 1 drop to do serious damage to the unit. Wings are plastic and very fragile in my opinion.
At the price I cannot really make excuses about feature to value for money ratio. This much for a mixer is not loose change, it's a decent enough investment, and the mixer should be ready for work. It isnt.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL2400 Live Mixer:
Bad unit from the get go. Failing channels, problems sending to master and sub busses (usually one side) -- channels slowly fade out losing output, needs phantom power reset to "reboot" or start working again which only lasts 10min. or so. Behringer new support company for warranty service is an absolute joke. First attempt to repair took way too long, finally shipped out for service, came back with all the same problems on different channels and same overall buss problems. They did offer to replace the unit with a new one and again, they claim they emailed the ups tag, need info repeated all over again... 2 1/2 weeks in maybe I'll get the ups email today to ship out and we'll see if the new replacement unit works or not. Probably my best bet is to immediately sell it while it's working, take a major loss and find something reliable. Purchase powered mixer few years ago, dsp blew within a few weeks, the replacement has worked for years now thankfully - this has been a very bad experience and the warrenty is up in 1 month. YES, that's right 11 months of not being able to use what I purchased. They are trying to make good but the service co., the repair co. and behringer overall has failed me terribly with this purchase. You will see other reviews on this and other sites mirroring this exact scenario. Really a shame.
If the board worked, I would rate the features a 9.
This is the most horrible piece of Behringer gear I've ever purchased, and I've purchased quite a bit.
Only great value if you get what you pay for.. a working unit. I and others like me did not.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL2400 Live Mixer:
This board is one of the most annoying things I've ever seen. The board is magnificent in a features to value ratio, I love the routing, I love the layout. A great board at first glance. I have done nothing but pamper this board from the day I received it (when it worked perfectly). I've owned it for about 3 months now, it's done a maximum of 3 gigs and about as many recording sessions...and already it has major issues. It lives on a nice stand untouched in my apartment for most of the time. I never let anyone else touch it.The Master L/R has decided the Left channel isn't worthy anymore and has decided to either let it play intermittently, feed out static, or just cut out completely. Nothing a whack on the board won't fix (usually), but come on, why are we resorting to that? Fortunately it's only the Master L/R and the Tape Out L/R works fine and is recording correctly in stereo. However, live performance is now dubious at best unless I get it fixed. Also, Channel 6 is hit and miss. Can't wait to see what else will go amiss. As I said, great value board, great features for the price, but if a board that is cared for impeccably ends up having this issues so early in its life, one has to question its quality.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL2400 Live Mixer:
This board is hundred times better then the Sl or Ub mixers the EQ. on the mono channels are much like the MX9000 and 8000 Eurodesk. It has Six send with all but two Switchable Pre and post and Six sends are balanced 4 XLR outputs and two TRS. This also has 16 balanced out for recording Very nice and clean. On the FX return?s I would have rather had four monitor send faders than the 2 FX return there with two more rows of led?s. One more thing I would change on this board would be insets on the monitor sends for EQ and compression. The layout of this board is nice expect for the numbering. I do not want stereo channels in the middle of the snake. So I just renumbered the board so 9/10 was now 17/18 and channel 17 became 9 and so on. I would recommend this board to a sound personal or experienced Engineer. This is not for a mixer for the average Joe?s band. Audiocharlie
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL2400 Live Mixer:
I purchased this board to fill a gap in my pro sound inventory. I run a smaller Soundcraft and a large Crest. This board has a small footprint and sounds real good with my dbx rack drive unit after I "PINK" the room. Lots of features for the money. I thought about a Mackie but guys in the industry are having trouble with certain models of Mackie.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL2400 Live Mixer:
bought this as a replacement for a Mackie VLZ.Features are great for the price however the most important thing is the tone and its bad!It sounds terrible just really wooly and horrible.I will be returning it ASAP and buying a Mackie Onyx
