Did A/B comparison with this mic as soon as I received it with my EV n/d 727. Crisper, better low end & clearer. Using the Blue Encore 200 was like taking a filter off the EV mic. Love it. I've become so used to it I'm starting to use it in home recording. Also, you can't go wrong with the copper look on top!. A+++

I bought this last year and right from the get go i had issues. I sent it in to Blue for repair and got it back but it's still not working right. I see some people are having good luck with it and that's fine and dandy. My experience has been terrible and will never buy another Blue product! A waste of money and time!!!
I don't like trashing or bad mouthing things but i'll make an exception here!

encore to you blue!!!

Comments about BLUE enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

Completely shocked ! Went to GC to get a senheiser amp mic and new vocal mic. My intention was to buy a senheiser vocal mic as well until they put the encore in front of me. I have been singing and playing guitar for about thirteen years, and i have learned you get what you pay for, but with this mic in my opinion for under a grand you will not find a better one. I haveowned and used Sure, senheiser audix, peavey and audio technica, including the high end stuff and this mic is hands down the best i've owned and used. Couldnt be happier.

Sweet Jesus!

Comments about BLUE enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

What a microphone. Had no experience with Blue but kept reading good things. Replaced an SM58 with the Blue and was beyond pleased. No feedback, tremendous clarity and warmth. I have to crank my 58 to get half the overall sound that the 200 produces at low levels and almost invariably the feedback would kick in. Yes, its a dynamic mic that uses Phantom Power and that confuses people. But once you hook it up, you'll get it. It sounds like you're singing into headphones in a studio. For my band, I'm running it through a $50 Rolls I use in my home studio, but you can get cheaper PP. For my acoustic gigs, I use my on-board PP on my Fishman Solo. Killer sound either way. I play harp from a neck rack and with the 58 I often had to play right into the mic or turn it up so loud to pick up the harp it would feedback. The range on the 200 solves that problem. From a tactile standpoint, the feel is outstanding. Frightfully well constructed, it's about 4 ounces heavier that than the 58 and 5 more than the Beta 58A. I'm a big boy and like the feel of a beefy mic. You get the impression you could drive nails with it during the day and croon "Wicked Game" that night. And did I mention the look? This is the baddest looking mic I've ever seen. The pics don't do it justice. I got audible gasps when I pulled it out of its felt-lined case. This thing is amazing. Best $ I've ever spent.

I purchased 2 Blue Encore200 mics to replace 2 Shure 58's that were stolen after a show. These were offered by MF as a 2 for the price of 1 promo and I was in a bind and for the price I thought why not. I'm glad I did. These mics sound better than the Shure 58! Great flat response! I was so impressed I also purchased 2 Blue Encore 300's again at the 2 for 1 promo price to replace an EV condenser that was also taken the same night. The Blue condensers blow the EV away! My conclusion, BUY these mics!

Comments about BLUE enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

at first I was skeptical, but the guys atG>C> let me hook it up on there massive p.a. to hear the differance. first th encore 200 vs. the sm58, not even close. Way more open sounding and much clearer, against the beta 58 & 57, same result, and finnaly againt my prior fave, the audix line. From the om2 and up, still no match. Even better than the sennh. 9 series, just pick one up, the best bang for buck on the market, hands down. The only drawback is the need of phantom power, its not a condencer mic, but man this thing is sharp, litterally zero feedback, espe. vs. other mics. Just too crazy, I wish I could get an endorsement from them, at Least I would have some kik back for braggin, but am still glad to pay for this monster. And finnaly it looks really awesome, pics dont do justice!

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this mic. My preliminary test confirmed that this was a significant improvement over my old mic (EV N/D257B.) The nuances are there and it seemed "rich and warm." In short I liked my voice a lot better all of a sudden!

Comments about BLUE enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I bought these at the beginning of the BOGO special and boy is this a steal. This mic is head and shoulders above the SM58 and I prefer it over the Beta 58 as well. Never have I owned such an honest mic. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it or not because I noticed that I sounded pretty terrible, but after hearing other people use it on our stage, I realized that the microphone literally just DOES NOT color your sound. And why should it? That's what preamps and EQ are for. What you get from the microphone itself is a brutally honest representation of the voice or instrument you are micing. You also get the added bonus of being the only kids on the block with a microphone that looks as snazzy as these!

Bear in mind that these mics, although dynamic, require phantom power. This allows for ultra low impedance for long cable runs if necessary, amongst other things. There's a nice little indicator on the handle that lets you know if the mic is receiving phantom power. Feels great in the hands, and the mic clips are sturdy and firmly grip the microphone without having to force it into the clip. The textures between the mic itself and the clip are made so they come in and out easily, but don't slip (even when you're drunk and trip over the cord and pull the whole thing down stand and all). Which btw, the grills on these things are also very strong. Not even a dent or a scratch!

I highly recommend taking advantage of this BOGO sale while it lasts.

Comments about BLUE enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I have owned the enCore 200 for several months. Its very good indeed. Very rugged and well made. Solid. I have compared it mostly with several condenser mics (Rode NT1-a, MXL 4000, Apex 460) and the usual shures (beta 58a in particular). I like it much better than the 58a and the Rode. Its very smooth and detailed and eliminates the slight grainy quality i hear with the 58a, but there is a slight tonal shift up that works with some voices (male & female) but not with others. It didn't have quite as much output as I expected (which lowered the features mark). Its not in the same league as my Heil PR35 though, which is now my go-to mike in most situation.

I bought 2 of these mics one was missing from my package and I had to wait for Musicians Friend to send me another then one blew up at a concert and Musicians Friend told me I had to deal with the company that made it. I called Blue Microphone spoke to a live person who took all of my info to give to the repair dept who never called or emailed me back. Really unhappy with this product and this company and Musicians Friend for not standing behind this product.

Comments about BLUE enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

When we started our band over three years ago we started with cheap mics since we had no cash flow. After a year we upgraded to Sennheiser e822s and again a year after that moved to a Sennheiser e835 (or vis-vera, I can't remember now). In December of 2012 I got a Blue Encore 200 and was absolutely blown away at the sound, quality and durability of this mic. I was the first on the block to get one and now several musicians I know have bought them because of the amazing quality. I'm a singer, not a sound engineer so let me say it this way. When I have this mic in my hand, it's got a great weight and has some amazing clarity. If something happened to mine today I'd have a replacement tomorrow. It's just that good. I've been using it for 10 months now with absolutely no problems and no diminishing quality over time.

Comments about BLUE enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I preordered a Blue Encore 200 and Encore 300. I used the 200 last night; and everyone noticed a complete difference. What's the "difference"? I took it right out of the box, and ran it flat on the board all night. No feedback, no hassle.I'm a 54 year old that sings 99% of our songs, and I heard articulation out front, and in the earbuds. The tone was warm and smooth-to the point that people in the audience noticed my voice sounded like a recording out front. We use a semi-very nice PA;( Mackie board,Crown power amps,Mackie tops, JBL bottoms) which would make singing into a turtle shell sound good;but this mic "fits" the PA nicely. Be ready to hear yourself beyond the same ol'SM-58 you are used too. The Blue Encore 200 is very solid as well as heavy. Should stay in great shape for a long time. The only thing I don't like about this order, is the scary and tiny mic stand holder for the mic.( you'll see what I mean) Again; I sounded immediately warmer and smoother, without even messing with the EQ,and the Beta 58 goes into the mic case as a backup.

Did not know what to think, never owned a Blue condenser mic. A GC tech recommended this mic over an SM-58 or an EV-967, have to admit I was skeptical but decided to give it a try. Well - I was wrong to be skeptical. Feels solid, looks great, very warm, clear, clean, crisp vocals that surprised me. I had no intention of purchasing a Blue stage mic but as it turns out it was a great choice. I would put this mic in the "best for the price" category. Less feedback and slightly lower output than the EV-969 but cleaner/clearer, EQ it up just a bit and it's there. No comparison to the Sure - MUCH clearer/cleaner than the SM 58. This mic is well worth the price.

I've had this mic for about a week now and still can't get over how great it sounds. I was singing through an AKG D5 and thought that sounded good, better than my old sm58. Now I have the Blue Encore 200, I can't think of what the other mics might be good for (fishing weights?) I don't know. The Encore 200 is built very solid, sounds clear and looks cool. It's more than worth the money, I'll be buying the 300 when it comes out because I'm sure the quality will be superb for the price range of these mics. And do it before they figure out they could be getting much more for their products.

The phantom powered dynamic capsule offers incredibly quiet operation coupled with amazing dynamic range. I would likely have to spend at least double the price to replicate the quality sound produced by this mic.

Comments about BLUE enCORE 200 Dynamic Live Vocal Microphone:

I bought this on clearance. When I compared this mic to my go to (OM5 for 10+ yrs) the way it made my voice sound was so sweet that everyone in rehearsal was surprised. I Would definitely buy another one. The lack of proximity effect bass boost is perfect for male voices and this mic didn't disappoint in that category. Also the amount of headroom made feedback no issue at all.

In an A/B Comparison, it is more detailed and less distorted than an Sm58. It has better highs and lows, with no mid sacrifice. An Sm58 feels better in my hand, because the weight seems perfect and it just curves up in my hand. The blue is not awkward but it just doesn't feel perfect, and it is heavier. I'm fairly confident I could use the blue to record grade A hard rock and heavy metal vocals, which I never felt confident with on the Sm58. It might even end up stacking up for softer vox too. I haven't used it live yet, but most venues have phantom power now. If they don't I wouldn't really want to play there anyway. It is a very beautiful microphone however, the copper looking grill is unique.

As soon as I get this mic, i wanted to test it.
I plugged Beta 58 and encore 200 into 2 separate channels and recorded them at the same time.
I couldn't believe my ears. BLUE has more open (wider) sound then BETA. Flat response on all frequencies.
Closer to condenser then to dynamic mic. I like it.
