Now you and your audience can enjoy the same sterling, high-definition sound!

The Bose L1 Model 1 Dual System/Quad Bass Package includes two Bose L1 Model I Cylindrical Radiator Speakers, two Bose L1 Model I Power Stands, and four Bose B1 Bass Modules.

L1 Model I Cylindrical Radiator Speaker

The L1 Model I Cylindrical Radiator Speaker is an integral component of the from Bose L1 Model I system. The unique Cylindrical Radiator loudspeaker comes in two sections and has a line array of 24 small drivers mounted into a vertical speaker enclosure for wide, horizontal sound coverage. This proprietary design helps fill the room with clear sound like no ordinary speaker can. In comparison to a conventional audio speaker, volume and tone diminish very slowly over distance.

The loudspeaker's wedge-shaped dispersion pattern sends little sound to the floors, upper walls and ceilings, minimizing room reverberation and increasing clarity. In contrast to a conventional setup, the L1 speaker system lets you, your fellow musicians and the audience hear the same sound. You don't need any other stage monitors, mixers or PA speakers. The Bose L1 system replaces them all with one sleek, powerful setup.

The L1 Cylindrical Radiator loudspeaker features a two-piece, interlocking design for quick and easy transport, setup and breakdown. Each section of loudspeaker is 43 1/2" (1.1 m) high. It includes an interlocking bayonet with center and bottom latches.

L1 Model I Power Stand

As well as being the mechanical support for the Bose L1 Cylidrical Radiator loudspeaker, the Bose L1 Model I Power Stand houses the amplifier and mixer for the 4-channel system L1 system. This innovative system eliminates the need for conventional monitors, mixers, and PA speakers. It is the ultimate in fidelity and is extremely lightweight and portable. Features of the PS1 Power stand include:

Integrated power amplifiers:

Provide clean, precise amplification for L1 Model I loudspeaker and up to two B1 bass modules. Musicians can play soft or loud with confidence the system will accurately amplify their performance.

Four-channel mixer:

Primary mic/line input channels 1 and 2 accept XLR and 1/4" TRS connections; they feature ultra-low noise preamps, two-stage clip lights, trim controls and XLR line-out channels. Secondary input channels 3 and 4 accept 1/4" unbalanced line-level sources like keyboards, sequencers, mixers and MP3 players.

ToneMatch presets:

Proprietary ToneMatch presets optimize L1 system to match intended natural sound of specific instruments and microphones on channels I and 2. Select presets independently for these channels using pushbutton controls.

Channel inserts/effects loops:

Connect channels 1 and 2 to external effects and processors via 1/4" TRS line input/output connections. Use a stereo plug to connect the send and return signals with one cord.

Bass module out:

Delivers amplified bass output signal to one or two B1 bass modules. The Bose L1 system automatically adjusts equalization appropriately when bass modules are connected.

Bass line out:

Post-DSP bass signal output. Accepts 1/4" TRS phone cable. Use to connect PackLite amplifier with up to two additional bass modules. Can also be used to connect powered subwoofer or additional amplification system.

Digital data out:

Send digital mix of channels 1 and 2 to external recording gear at 48KHz sample rate.

Digital data in:

Update product software and ToneMatch presets via this digital input connector.

R1 remote input:

Seven-pin connection works with R1 remote control.

B1 Bass Module

The Bose B1 Bass Module works seamlessly with the L1 Model I PA System to deliver the low-frequency impact you want through 2 high-output, high-excursion 6-1/2" drivers. It produces deep, strong bass for keyboards, kick drum, bass guitar, and other instruments that play in the baritone/bass range. Light and compact, strong bass is yours without the bulk and weight of traditional subwoofers. Connects to the power stand with a single cable.

Church systems parable

By Thomas Trueman

from Church City

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1 Dual System/Quad Bass Package:

My friend bought one of these systems for his church to use with his vocal band. They sing to prerecorded tracks, just like Karaoke. So the feature of having different types of inputs was important to him, and it worked out well. The sanctuary is large, so they bought this large system, as they believed what the salesman told them. "This is 'new' technology that only Bose has mastered... Although it looks small it can fill the entire church." They believed and bought. They were wrong. They never could get it loud or clear enough. It was never intelligible; meaning, you couldn't hear the words either of sermons or songs. They returned the system and bought cheap Peavey powered speakers, placed them throughout the sanctuary. Now everybody hears every word and the music sounds great... even inspirational!I guess that shows... be careful what you believe!

Bose L1 needs more development

By sharkbite 09

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1 Dual System/Quad Bass Package:

I have seen these used in several differnt settings. For a single guitar/vocalist they sound OK.I recently saw the L1 system ( 3 used in a 3 pc band each w dual sub units) and it just did not deliver. Kick drum was almost non existant and the bass guitar was muddy and the guitar could not be heard.Vocals were OK but not very clear. The concept is nice but they need more development.

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1 Dual System/Quad Bass Package:

My cover band purchased 4 of these units when they first came out in 2004 for quite a bit of money, 2000 dollars apiece at least. The theory was that we would not need a mixer; each of us would play through our own Bose and things would be simplified. Nothing could be further from the truth. The amount of problems we experienced with this system were immense and not fixed even to this day. We even had someone from the company that we knew come in personally and adjust the equipment, and even then the sound is just passable. In short, the system is proabably OK (and I just mean OK) for acoustic performance or vocals only in a rock band. It really does not deliver when it comes to guitar and is woefully inadequate when it comes to bass and drums. There is a reason that they are selling extra bass packages (more than you see here) At no time did I ever feel there was adequate low end, and I constantly "red-lined" the trim with moderate input from a bass amp. My drummer never felt his bass drum sound was adequate. We wound up selling two of the L1's and use the other 2 WITH A MIXER (something we originally hoped to avoid with this system). The sound still is not adequate. I play my bass through a regular amp because the sound is never good throught the Bose system. I would recommend spending half the money on a good PA system if you are in need of any bottom end. For the price it is just not worth it.

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1 Dual System/Quad Bass Package:

I've been a dj/musician for 15 years now I've worked with or ownwd all the major brands (JBL srx- Peavey sp... - this little system blows away it all and then some! I've mostly used it for prerecorded music so far & let me tell you the bose l1 system brings life to the music - you will hear things in the music you have never heard before because of the awesome clarity! If you are thinking about getting these don't waste any more time just do it & you'll never regret it! On a side note if you are a bass lover like me you will enjoy the rich "full" sounding bass you get out of the b1s!

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1 Dual System/Quad Bass Package:

Last year, I was invited to a graduation party for a distant relative of mine. Her mom got a band, whom I had heard of before, to play there. Upon walking in, I saw all of the bands equiptment but no big speakers. All I was was these four little tower looking things and eight small black boxes, two and four on each side of the stage. All I can say is that the product was tremendous. I can't wait o get my hands on it for my own band
