OVERVIEW

Compact system with powerful front-end audio engine and a bass module.

Spend less time setting up your gear and more time enjoying it. The new L1 Model 1S portable line array system delivers a potent combination of portability and performance. It's compact and light enough to make setup quick and easy, yet powerful enough to fill a mid-sized venue. This system works well for solo musicians, bands and public speakers. Includes one B1 bass module for enhanced low-end performance.

Put your PA behind you
The vertical configuration of the system's small, closely spaced drivers allows the L1 Model 1S system to project sound forward and to the sides-delivering 180-degree coverage-but very little up and down, reducing unwanted reverberation. This produces consistent tonal balance as sound spreads more evenly across the stage and into the audience, and the volume level drops off much more slowly than with a conventional speaker.

Unique BOSE technologies enable the system to serve as both PA and monitor. It can be positioned behind or to the side of the performer – and you hear just what the audience hears. You're in control, and there's no need for conventional monitors, mixers and PA systems.

Convenience to go
The three components of the L1 Model 1S system-upper array, lower extension and power stand-connect quickly and easily without the need for separate speaker stands. Setup and breakdown takes just minutes, and everything stores neatly into the included carry bags, making transport easy, too.

Powerful multichannel audio engine
Combining the T1 ToneMatch audio engine with your L1 system expands your options to connect additional instruments and microphones. You can also use the ToneMatch engine to fine-tune your sound with powerful, proprietary tone-shaping tools.

The compact, four-channel engine provides fingertip control of a library of ToneMatch presets. Just touch a button to make hundreds of precise refinements to the sound of instruments and microphones. The engine also features a complete suite of studio-class reverbs, additional effects and dynamics processing. It connects to the L1 Model 1S system via a single digital cable for quick, streamlined setup.

Deep bass from small enclosures
The B1 bass module is BOSE's more portable bass option, and this package includes one of their B1 bass modules. It is considerably lighter and smaller than conventional bass bins required for the same performance. And it ensures more accurate amplification of lower notes for most voices and instruments.

With the L1 Model 1S system you can add a second B1 module or power one B2 bass module for more flexibility and even greater power.

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1S System with B1 Bass Module and ToneMatch Audio Engine:

This system is definitely a Bose. I love the sound quality. The tonematch is really handy. It actually has presets for my Taylor. I love using this to jam along with tracks from my IPod. If playing rock music from your IPod, make sure to set the tonematch on dj high volume music. Even if your playing it quiet, the sound quality is much better.

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1S System with B1 Bass Module and ToneMatch Audio Engine:

I'd been thinking about buying this system for our duo for some time now. We use two vocal mics, acoustic guitar and either bass, flute or sax (depending on the song). We perform at small venues both indoor and outdoor from wine tasting rooms to art festivals. Crowd size is from 20-100 and room sizes vary but mainly small areas sometimes with a dinner crowd where space is limited and low sound volume is desired by the venue. Before I got the Bose, I was schlepping mains, monitors and mixers and now I don't have to. Everything plugs into the Bose brain except the bass which I put directly into the L1, and I can have unique settings for each instrument and each vocal mic. I leave it all set up to go so instrument changes are seamless and there has not been any feedback or noise issue with the volumes set. This system is great! I should have gotten it long ago. I got the bass module and the brain and although I really didn't want to spend that much for the whole package I'm glad I did because the sound is great- even with the bass, and the setup is so easy. We don't have a sound engineer for our small gigs so having everything so easy really works out great. In summary- great system. No regrets.

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1S System with B1 Bass Module and ToneMatch Audio Engine:

I am a one man show playing Acoustic / Electric Rock (often with drum loops). This L1 with Tone Match & B1 handles everything I ask of it. This is not something you want to run an entire band through, but if you are a one or two man performance this is what you are looking for. This Bose system puts out the most reliable sound of anything I have used in many years of Live Sound. Channel 1 I dedicate to my microphone. The Studio Quality Vocals blows me away. Changing the Tone Match to the various types of Microphones and dialing in the type of effects I want takes my vocals to a new level. I dedicate Channel 2 to my guitar amp (Line 6 Spider Jam) and Mic it with a SM 57. The guitar sound coming from the Bose is true to the amp sound I have dialed in whether its a Blues Overdrive or a Heavier Distortion. For my Acoustic tunes, I use a direct line in Channel 3 to the Tone Engine. There isn't a need to run through a guitar amp. This system will give you a pure clean Acoustic sound and the Tone Engine allows you to add various levels of modulation such as Chorus, Delay, Flange etc. I was worried that my Hard Rock sound would not have the bottom I needed for pulling these songs off as a solo artist. I mistakenly determined that I would eventually have to purchase a second B1 or a B2. I was mistaken, the B1 handles everything. I use the 3rd channel to run a direct Line from my guitar pedals ( Electro Harmonix C9 & Mellotron) in which I program the systems preset frequencies that are pleasant to Keyboards. Nothing like hearing a Hammond Organ coming out of the 12 speakers and B1 Sub through this system. I use the utility input (on the L1's base not on the Tone Engine) to run a direct line to an electronic wood block for a base drum kick. There isn't an EQ for this line, just a volume, but I am able to adjust the kick tone by tapping on various locations of the wood block. Channel 4 is for my drum loops and gives a very authentic percussion sound to support my songs.

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1S System with B1 Bass Module and ToneMatch Audio Engine:

My search for a lightweight sound system with top-of-the-line sound is over. This system meets all the requirements, plus it is super easy to assemble, and I was able to plug in and use this system in just a few minutes.
With the Tone Match unit added, I have plenty of plug-ins for several instruments and mikes. Love this unit!
An added bonus is that all components fit neatly into the included carry bags!

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1S System with B1 Bass Module and ToneMatch Audio Engine:

I find myself playing more acoustic shows lately. Lugging around a powered head and speakers with all the stands and cables was just overkill for these smaller gigs. I've done a few gigs with it and am really happy with the set up and the room filling sound. No more worrying about how the fronts sound compared to the monitor, or being too loud for those sitting in front just so you can have the sound carry to the rest of the room. I think I may even be able to use this for small band gigs where only my voice will be going through the system.

Comments about Bose L1 Model 1S System with B1 Bass Module and ToneMatch Audio Engine:

Okay, so fourth time is a charm. I bought one of these units as an open box this past summer. Bottom line, it was defective, & I returned & reordered it twice again. That's three defective units I returned. That made me suspect that Bose was returning stuff to stock & reshipping without inspecting or repairing. They never asked why I was returning it, though I did put a note in with one return explaining the defect. Suffice it to say I was very disappointed.

Then as the holidays approached I saw them go on sale, new units as cheap as the open box plus 36 mos. free credit.. So I decided to give it one more try. I'd seen these units in action. The ease of set up & take down combined with the amazing sound was very attractive to me. We were spending 1.5 hours setting up our conventional p.a. with monitors etc., never mind take down & all the stuff we were lugging.

So I haven't gigged with it yet but at home set up took 7 minutes, take down was about the same. Very nice, & it's functioning as it should. It sounds great but I'm still in the learning curve on the Tone match engine. Truth be told it has a lot of features I'll probably never use. I do wish the tone match had one more input. We have a five piece band where everyone sings, we'll have to figure something out there. My main idea for this unit was to use on smaller venues with probably up to three singers plus one acoustic guitar going through the Bose. I think it will be terrific in that realm.
