Sound thinking makes for sound innovation.
BOSE L1 Model II systems are a high-quality, portable amplification system for musicians, singers, DJs and public speakers. This package includes BOSE's critically acclaimed B2 bass module, as well as an L1 Model II cylindrical radiator. It is portable, efficient, professional-sounding system.
These loudspeakers deliver wide horizontal sound coverage and a smooth tonal balance–across the stage and throughout the room. Lightweight and modular, this sleek system fits easily into a car trunk and takes just a few minutes to set up.
Like the original, award-winning BOSE L1 system, the Model II sound system is an all-in-one innovation that replaces conventional monitors, mixers and PA speakers. And this professional sound system is packed with proprietary BOSE technologies designed to improve your amplified sound.
The system's breakthrough loudspeaker produces wide, uniform sound coverage of nearly 180 degrees—onstage and throughout an audience of up to several hundred—with little dropoff in volume and tone.
The Model II system also features Articulated Array speaker technology for better tonal balance. The loudspeaker's 24 vertically mounted drivers are precisely angled to create clearer highs and more consistent tone in the room. Even people off to the sides of these stage speakers enjoy well-balanced, detailed sound.
T1 ToneMatch Audio Engine
Combining the T1 ToneMatch audio engine with an L1 system gives you exceptional amplified tone and sound processing capabilities. The compact, four-channel engine provides fingertip control of BOSE's largest library of ToneMatch presets. Just touch a button to make hundreds of precise refinements to the sound of instruments and microphones.
The T1 ToneMatch audio engine is designed to enrich the sound of musicians using any BOSE L1 system. Its powerful features and tone-shaping tools quickly bring you closer to the true sound of your voice and instruments. This versatile digital mixer helps you sound your best in live performances. It expands the input capacity of your L1 system and gives you instant access to a host of proprietary EQ presets, standard effects and processors.
Hundreds of sonic refinements—instantly
The ToneMatch audio engine puts BOSE's largest library of customized presets at your command. These ToneMatch presets instantly optimize instruments and microphones for any L1 system, all at the touch of a button.
Different presets can be independently assigned to the engine's four channels. For example, select Audix OM5 mic presets for channels 1 and 2, Taylor guitar for channel 3 and Lakland bass for channel 4 - all at the same time.
BOSE's engineers often work with manufacturers directly to expand the ToneMatch preset library. Updates are available to you free, with easy downloading via the engine's USB port.
Intelligent equalization: zEQ
Fine-tune your sound system with greater accuracy. BOSE intelligent zEQ redefines low, mid and high ranges for each ToneMatch preset. When you need to cut or boost specific frequency ranges for different instruments and mics, zEQ gives you the power.
Suite of effects and dynamics processing
Globally assign one of five different reverbs to each mic/line channel. You can also choose from three delay types, ten additional effects, and seven dynamics processors—and assign them independently to each channel.
Store your customized settings for specific gigs with the Scenes feature. The engine comes with five predefined BOSE scenes and ten you can define. Fast, one-touch scene recall helps you make quick work of repeat setups.
Simply link the engine to your BOSE L1 Model II system via the included digital cable and rev it up. A sleek bracket is also included to attach the engine to the loudspeaker.
B2 Bass Module
This BOSE L1 Model II system comes with a B2 bass module to ensure more accurate amplification of lower notes for most voices and instruments—including guitars, keyboards and various horns. The double bass package is recommended for use as a bass guitar amplifier, and for kick drums and DJs.
The BOSE B2 bass module is a high-performance flexible bass solution designed for L1 Model 1S and Model II systems. It features two 10” high-excursion woofers mounted into a rugged enclosure.
For additional flexibility, the B2 includes a rear panel switch that allows for higher or lower bass levels to be selected based on application or personal preference. Proprietary BOSE technology in the L1 systems automatically senses the switch position of the B2 and provides the proper equalization and power. Interlocking end caps allow up to two B2 modules to be stacked together. Includes protective slip cover and NL4 cable.
Applications include educational and business uses, such as announcements, presentations and training demonstrations for up to 300 people. It is also useful in portable applications within houses of worship, sporting events and many other instances where a PA and bass are required.
The B2 bass module is also ideal for musicians and DJs that require higher bass output and impact. Both will benefit from the flexibility of the three-position sensing switch. Simply switch to “+” for the maximum bass output. Full bands will appreciate the B2 module’s higher output, which provides additional bass for kick drums and bass guitars.
The L1 Model II power stand weighs only 24 pounds, and its four retractable legs make it very easy to transport and set up. The power stand also has a simplified control section; the single line-level input can be used with instruments, mics, mixers, laptops, MP3 players or DVD systems.
All of the system's components are also built to handle the road. The loudspeaker has a rugged, reinforced grille, and each package includes padded carrying bags for major components.
Spatial Dispersion and Articulated Array speaker technologies in the loudspeaker produce wide, uniform sound coverage. The 24 small drivers are arranged using Articulated Array speaker technology in a slim, vertical enclosure—creating nearly 180 degrees of horizontal coverage and consistent tonal balance. The loudspeaker's two-piece, interlocking design makes for quick and easy setup, breakdown and transport.
Analog input, trim control and signal/clip LED for line-level analog input via ¼" TRS phone cable. Can be used for instruments or other audio sources like DJ mixers, MP3 players, computers or DVD systems.
Bass module out for amplified bass output signal to one or two bass modules. L1 system automatically adjusts equalization appropriately when bass modules are connected.
Bass line out delivers post-DSP bass signal output. Accepts ¼" TRS phone cable. Use to connect powered subwoofer, additional amplification system or BOSE PackLite amplifier with up to two additional bass modules.
Retractable legs provide stability for streamlined L1 Model II power stand and loudspeaker. Four retractable legs fold out of power stand simultaneously for quick setup and compact transport.

Comments about Bose L1 Model II Single B2 Bass with T1 Audio Engine:
I play in an acoustic rock duo featuring acoustic guitar, cello, two voices, and a PoarchBoard (kick drum emulator). We travel via Mini Cooper and seeking a reliable PA that could fit in with the rest of our gear was always a concern. I had a keen interest in the Bose L1 system for some time, though I was turned off after seeing it used at various open mics and music workshops. The sound never seemed that impressive, and seemed to lack bass. This was before the invention of the B2 Bass Module, and each demonstration I saw either lacked the T1 tonematch, or had someone inexperienced with the audio engine running sound. My cellist is very particular about his sound, and we both have a discerning ear regarding audio quality. Amplifying his cello at gigs has always been a bit of a challenge, either due to microphone feedback, or due to attempting to get a decent sound from a cello pick up. We ended up using a bass amp plus Sans Amp Pre-amp, which was a lot to haul around and a lot of cabling to mess with.
When I received the system, I was surprised with how large the B2 unit was. Fortunately, the entire system could fit into my Mini Cooper along with the instruments and bandmates. I will say that the extent of the Tonematch engine is impressive. Out of the box, I was able to find a pre-set for my guitar specifically, a favorable pre-set for a Shure Super 55, and a wonderful pre-set for the cello (Cage Realist I think). My cellist was flabbergasted with the quality of his cello sound using his pick up alone. We were able to not only find a sound that truly captured his instrument, but even enhanced it! This is a $30K cello we are talking about! I absolutely loved the Martin D-28 setting for my D-28 Marquis. The sound was so true, while emphasizing bass and percussive hits to my preference. The effect features are fantastic, though it would be nice to adjust more then one frequency on the parametric EQ. We dialed around this limitation, and really isn't that big of a deal for us. My PoarchBoard sounds huge through the B2 Unit on the middle setting. I haven't had a need to go to the plus at all! The system has had extremely limited feedback issues, which is great!
We've used this for several gigs outside of our home city, and the sound was absolutely flooring. It was quite the conversation starter as well, most people were impressed that such an permeating and superior sound could come from such a small unit. This is perfect for touring acoustic duos or acoustic bands that have 4-5 channels to run at most. The sound reproduction is flawless when the T1 is used the right way. I would not get this system without the T1 or B2. Set up is super fast and easy. Amazing product!
