Sound thinking, sound innovation.
BOSE L1 Model II systems are a high-quality, portable amplification system for musicians, singers, DJs and public speakers. This package includes Bose's critically acclaimed B2 bass module, as well as an L1 Model II cylindrical radiator. It is a portable, efficient, professional-sounding system.
These loudspeakers deliver wide horizontal sound coverage and a smooth tonal balance-across the stage and throughout the room. Lightweight and modular, this sleek system fits easily into a car trunk and takes just a few minutes to set up.
Like the original, award-winning BOSE L1 system, the Model II sound system is an all-in-one innovation that replaces conventional monitors, mixers and PA speakers. And this professional sound system is packed with proprietary Bose technologies designed to improve your amplified sound.
The system's breakthrough loudspeaker produces wide, uniform sound coverage of nearly 180 degreesâonstage and throughout an audience of up to several hundredâwith little dropoff in volume and tone.
The Model II system also features Articulated Array speaker technology for better tonal balance. The loudspeaker's 24 vertically mounted drivers are precisely angled to create clearer highs and more consistent tone in the room. Even people off to the sides of these stage speakers enjoy well-balanced, detailed sound.
This BOSE L1 Model II system comes with a B2 bass module to ensure more accurate amplification of lower notes for most voices and instrumentsâincluding guitars, keyboards and various horns. The double bass package is recommended for use as a bass guitar amplifier, and for kick drums and DJs.
The BOSE® B2 bass module is a high performance flexible bass solution designed for L1 Model 1S and Model II systems. It features two 10â high-excursion woofers mounted into a rugged enclosure.
For additional flexibility, the B2 includes a rear panel switch that allows for higher or lower bass levels to be selected based on application or personal preference. Proprietary BOSE technology in the L1 systems automatically senses the switch position of the B2 and provides the proper equalization and power. Interlocking end caps allow up to two B2 modules to be stacked together. Includes protective slip cover and NL4 cable.
Applications include educational and business uses, such as announcements, presentations and training demonstrations for up to 300 people. It is also useful in portable applications within houses of worship, sporting events and many other instances where a PA and bass are required.
The B2 bass module is also ideal for musicians and DJs that require higher bass output and impact. Both will benefit from the flexibility of the three-position sensing switch. Simply switch to â+â for the maximum bass output. Full bands will appreciate the B2 module's higher output, which provides additional bass for kick drums and bass guitars.
The L1 Model II power stand weighs only 24 pounds, and its four retractable legs make it very easy to transport and set up. The power stand also has a simplified control section; the single line-level input can be used with instruments, mics, mixers, laptops, MP3 players or DVD systems.
All of the system's components are also built to handle the road. The loudspeaker has a rugged, reinforced grille, and each package includes padded carrying bags for major components.
Spatial Dispersion and Articulated Array speaker technologies in the loudspeaker produce wide, uniform sound coverage. The 24 small drivers are arranged using Articulated Array speaker technology in a slim, vertical enclosureâcreating nearly 180 degrees of horizontal coverage and consistent tonal balance. The loudspeaker's two-piece, interlocking design makes for quick and easy setup, breakdown and transport.
ToneMatch port on power stand for digital audio and power connection to ToneMatch audio engine.
Analog input, trim control and signal/clip LED for line-level analog input via ¼" TRS phone cable. Can be used for instruments or other audio sources like DJ mixers, MP3 players, computers or DVD systems.
Bass module out for amplified bass output signal to one or two bass modules. L1 system automatically adjusts equalization appropriately when bass modules are connected.
Bass line out delivers post-DSP bass signal output. Accepts ¼" TRS phone cable. Use to connect powered subwoofer, additional amplification system or Bose PackLite amplifier with up to two additional bass modules.
Retractable legs provide stability for streamlined L1 Model II power stand and loudspeaker. Four retractable legs fold out of power stand simultaneously for quick setup and compact transport.

Comments about Bose L1 Model II System With B2 Bass Module:
Our band is it was developing was using a combination of two old amplifers with a crossover to keep the lows from the highs, with a separate amplifier for the bass player. The sound was uneven. I chose the Bose system after a demo and reading many reviews, as well as seeing what the competition looked and sounded like. The Bose is a magnificent sounding and well-thought out system. First, the physical profile of the speaker tower (line array) is elegant, dramatic and efficient. The tall speaker is composed of two parts that link together and then drop into the base unit where the amplifier resides. It is foolproof and goes together in seconds. The stabilizing feet of the base unit are designed to be extended fully and a clever mechanism prevents you from trying to place the unit without the legs extended, an example of the thought process that has obviously gone into this system. The system is meant to integrate with the Bose Engine audio mixer, where a CAT5 Neutrik Ethercon connector links everything together. One power cable to the base module powers everything; the mixer derives power from that CAT5 cable. Finally the sound: Clean, powerful, and the dispersal of the sound is as described, WIDE, the height of the tower makes sure the sound gets out to the audience. The B2 cabinet means the bass player (and kick drum unit) do not require their own bass amplifers. The efficiency is tremendous; we went from 3 amplifers to one. The mixer is amazing and needs a separate review to accurately describe how versatile it is. Briefly stated it is a state-of-the-art audio console with software and menu functions which allow gain, compression, gates, reverb, etc to be assigned to the mix. Sound is pristine, absolutely no hum, plenty of intelligent metering and LED indicators, mute function very handy too. The lack of hum is astonishing; our old equipment hook-up always had issues. Since the Engine mixer is sending digitized audio to the base cabinet and not audio the isolation breaks the old AC hum loop problem. There is also almost no residual system noise with things cranked up with no inputs on as well; certainly nothing an audience would ever be aware of in a real gig situation. Only limitations of the mixer are there is only one type of "global" effect which applies to all channels, would be better if individuals could be chosen for each input. Also the mixer has only 4 inputs; Bose says 5 but 4 and 5 are "shared". I have to use two submixers to get all 7 sources we use to work but this is not really a big deal. This system stands alone in the live sound game in my opinion. No ugly tripod speakers ready to tip over that also block visibility and focus sound in one direction any more; the Bose disappears on stage and the tower has it's small speakers (24!) placed at different angles to spread out to 180 degree dispersion or close to it. The overall sound is neutral, the bass can be adjusted to be very deep if you want. The B2 cabinet has three coarse settings and the mixer can EQ to your heart's content with regular as well as parametric equalization (these are available for each channel). Price is up there, this is not a cheap system. However the peace of mind and immense control this equipment provides is well worth the extra money, when you are playing out with this system your mind is on the music and the audience, not on the sound system. A winner.
