After over thirty some years of lifting, loading, unloading, and repairing, large bulky systems, I broke down and spent the money for my 802II's and MB4's --AND Bose processor. I've been using the system for about six years now. Best money I've spent. I've read the reviews that say "no lows" and all the other stuff. I don't claim to be a "sound engineer" but I do know what sounds good. If you can't get these to sound good you are doing something VERY wrong. Most who can't get the Bose system to perform should simply quit griping and go get the Bose processor. You can't blame the speakers for the sound if you don't use the whole system. Maybe it's the fault of the sales persons for not selling the complete system but I doubt that. Everybody wants to get by on the cheap, but in this case the rewards for using the complete system far outweigh the cost. You must also use good quality power amps with output of over 500 watts per channel. You wouldn't try to power your Corvette with a lawn mower engine...........or would you?

Because I design and repair audio equipment for a living, I know what's inside these things. They are junk. You can bench test them yourself as I did. If you don't have the equipment or know how to do that, ask any competent audio tech. You will discover that these have terrible frequency response, weak power handling, and need all sorts of electronic trickery to make them work. The reason some people like these things is because they have decent dispersion characteristic and are usually placed above the audience's heads. You can do that with any pole mount speaker. There are many pole-mountable passive loudspeakers on this website that provide MUCH better sound, are far more reliable, handle greater power and have better dispersion, for less than HALF what these over-rated mud-flaps cost.Check out the PDF specs for yourself! You will see that Bose doesn't even publish any real specifications. The so-called "spec-sheet" is just more hype. There are no facts; No dispersion or frequency-response graphs, no driver specifications, ...just some marketing buzz-words and pretty pictures. Check it out for yourself. Use your brains. This "flagship" Bose speaker has been around for over 30 years. It sucked then, it sucks more now at this price.

Comments about Bose Panaray 802 III Loudspeaker:
I'm a one man band using midi sequences for my backgrond sounds (bass and drums). I've used the 802's lll for around 6 or 7 years. They are one of the best speakers I've ever used. There crisp, clear, and full. You need (must) use the the panaray controller to get the proper sound. I get tons of bass sound out of just the 802's. I also own the MB4 cabinets. Using the MB4's I've been asked to please turn down my bass sound by bar owners. They kick big time. While in Florida I saw a DJ using 2 802's with Peavey bass bins spread out over 3 blocks. You could hear him crystal clear up and down the street. I also hook up a couple of extra peavey speakers(Sp5) with my 802's using the Boss controller. The controller also works great with these cabinets. My only concern is that the 802's are so light weight that I'm afraid of them getting ripped off if there left in a bar. You could carry these cabs for a mile without getting tired. They are pretty high priced, but worth the money for there sound. I get great comments all the time how great my sound is. I didn;t get those comments when using other brand speakers.
Comments about Bose Panaray 802 III Loudspeaker:
Have the BOSE PANARAY SYSTEM w/802s for 5 years now; performed at a huge venue - beautiful crystal clear sound!!! Moreover, blew away the contracting arena sound people that used their sound system the year before. Can't wait to add to the system!
Comments about Bose Panaray 802 III Loudspeaker:
I used these as an engineer for 5 years. The cabinet splays the sound very well. The stands also elevate the speakers so they carry across a room of people.Use a pair of these with the Bose Processor and you're a happy audiophile. Excellent for home theater, spoken word, small bands.Enjoy.

Comments about Bose Panaray 802 III Loudspeaker:
I can't afford the bose controller so i was a little dissapointed at first, but I bought a crown xti amp to power them and it has all the eq and crossover features (hi-q network)that were needed and I can truly say it has a better, more pleasing over all sound the any speaker I have heard(except studio monitors) I can carry two at once, and don't cry when they get rained on, because they are made to take it 365a year. The sound carries better than any other setup I have tried
Comments about Bose Panaray 802 III Loudspeaker:
I own and have the Bose 802 for a number of years. The speakers sound great for the spoken word. Don't even think about using these for a full band without subs. Even with subs I have not been happy with a full band playing. I'm in the process of replacing the speaker. Overall the speakers work well for a small band or the spoken word but are over price.
Comments about Bose Panaray 802 III Loudspeaker:
I have these speaker since 1991 and all i can say is these speakers are awsome clear and krispy sounds u need to have bose 802 controller to feel the real good sounds.
Comments about Bose Panaray 802 III Loudspeaker:
We have 6 of the 802 III and 1 Bose MB24 for a sub. We have used OAP, Peavy, Mackie, EV, Klipsch, JBL and EAW. Nothing compares! The Bose has a better sound and the all around dispersement is greater. The low end on the 802 is between 55-60 hertz so if you like alot of subharmonic or bass you can feel then go with a Bose sub MB 24. Its a 130lb beast that has 2 12 inch paired in at 4 ohms that will throw out some major lows.I beleave that some hate them because they try to use them with out the Bose controller (EQ) They try to EQ with a 31 band graphic and this can not be done. You must use a 7 band parametric EQ. this is like using (31) 31 band graphic EQ's! If you do not know what butter- worth 3rd is then please stick with the Bose controller. You will not go wrong with these. I would use a DBX Driverack as well to ad the compression and extra functions that will only make you love the Bose that much more!

Comments about Bose Panaray 802 III Loudspeaker:
Amazing. By far better than any speaker Ive ever heard. Ive ran JBL, Yamaha, Electro Voice, peavey, mackie, Nothing compares! You definitely need a bose controller to go with it. If you want quality and a solid, powerful yet lightweight speaker... Then this is the way to go. These have crystal clear highs and punchy lows and if you want some more bass then get a sub. I would highly recommend the bose 502b for a sub to go with these. Overall, stick with bose when it comes to speakers!
