Comments about Bose T1 ToneMatch Mic Stand Bracket:
I took extreme care in setup and operation due to the negative reviews.
It broke within minutes.
Comments about Bose T1 ToneMatch Mic Stand Bracket:
In summary, I feel there is no excuse for not redoing the outer clamp design such that it is made of metal instead of breakable plastic, when so many have noted this concern on various forums, and Bose has replaced so many broken ones.
If you have already made the mistake of buying a T1 Tonematch Engine for your Bose L1 system (that's a separate review), you might as well buy this bracket for your microphone stand. Because with both of them, they work great....just so long as they don't fail.
In my opinion, there is no excuse for a reputable company such as Bose, to market and distribute such a cheaply made product. They do have a clever design that makes it a "universal" bracket, fitting various radius' of mic or music stands. But the instructions for making the fit are difficult to decipher. But the real problem is the plastic materials used. Many reviewers complain about, or at least worries about, the plastic tightening ring breaking. Well, that's because it's make out of plastic. If they simply changed the clamp material to even the cheapest painted metal, you might find that it won't clamp closed, and you'd know you need to readjust it. But at least it wouldn't break! This has been going on for years, yet Bose just leaves it as is. Mine has not broken, but I worry about it all the time, and won't be surprised if it does.
An item such as this is so basic, it should have come with the T1 at no additional charge. And at the price they charge for it, this almost entirely plastic accident-waiting-to-happen is a poor value.
Comments about Bose T1 ToneMatch Mic Stand Bracket:
It is a good product when used properly. I have several musicians using these brackets with no problems.
Instructions should include the comment to only attach to the telescoping portion of the microphone stand. The bracket will probably break when attaching to the lower section. The instructions should also advise the user to position the clamp on the middle slot if force is needed when using the outer slot. If the clamp has to be forced, it will break. This product is engineered to be used with minimum force.
I have used these brackets for dozens of gigs without breaking them.
It should be included with purchase of the T1 ToneMatch engine.
Comments about Bose T1 ToneMatch Mic Stand Bracket:
I wrote the review titled "Don't Buy". It's a good product with inadequate instructions that lead to breakage. When used properly, the adapter is stable and should not break. There are two grooves used to tighten the clamp. Using the outside groove will over tighten the clamp and cause it to break. The clamp should be placed in the middle of the two grooves before tightening the clamp. Tightening the clamp is best done with two hands, one hand holding the clamp in place on the groove, and the other hand tightening the clamp. Also, the bracket top-edge should be beveled, sloping down toward you. Velcro the either the T1 digital cable or a mic cable to the mic stand to prevent the T1 from falling to the floor if someone knocks it off the bracket. Small music stands that clamp to a mic stand can also hold the T1 securely using industrial strength velcro, but the Bose Mic Stand Bracket takes far less space in the gig bag and you avoid the velcro hassle. I'm rating it a 3.0 for quality because of the inadequate instructions. I'm rating it a 3.0 for value because it should have been included with the T1 mixer considering the price paid for the mixer.
Comments about Bose T1 ToneMatch Mic Stand Bracket:
This Bose T1 ToneMatch Mic Stand Bracket is poorly engineered. It is likely to break even when being careful. I bought 3 of them. Only one survived. Get a large mike stand attached music stand from Raxxess and velcro your T1 to it.
