Supercardioid mic designed for robust vocal tones and extended low-frequency response.

Engineered and built in the USA, the CAD Equitek E100S large diaphragm supercardioid condenser microphone has an extremely low noise floor for its class (3.7 dBA) and the smooth, vintage tone and robust low end CAD is known for. The bootstrapped, full-differential Quadra-FET front end delivers high sensitivity and low distortion, plus CAD's proprietary circuitry ensures the highest performance.

The CAD microphone's nickel-plated 1" capsule delivers accurate phasing on instruments, and a full rich vocal tone, accentuated by the extended low-frequency response. Features include an 80Hz high-pass filter and a 10dB pad. From vocals to percussion, acoustic instruments and everything in between, the CAD Equitek E100S condenser mic will prove to be one of the most versatile tools in your microphone locker, in the studio, or onstage.

Not right for my voice

Comments about CAD Equitek E100S Large Diaphram Condenser Mic:

This mic is, in fact, remarkably quiet, but it was not suited to my voice which is Richard Sturben (Oak Ridge Boys) low. I've been using an AT2020 and I was looking for more "presence"...didn't get it and, yes, I played with the bass roll off with no success either. This mic seemed to add a tinny quality to my voice. It is extremely well made...like a tank and I'm certain that it will be perfect for voices that aren't as low as mine.

    New CAD E100S!

    By Ethan B.

    from Alberta, Canada

Comments about CAD Equitek E100S Large Diaphram Condenser Mic:

I ordered a CAD E100S and it came in the mail today and I'm impressed. Sound quality is great, its got a nice fullness to the low end and its a warm sounding mic. I compared it to my CAD GXL3000 and the E100S has a warmer tone, the lows are much fuller and nicer, and the highs are great to! Also the self noise of 3.7db is amazing, its dead quiet, where as with other mics it is higher, my GXL3000 for example has a self noise of 20db. Overall for the money its a great deal. Also with the current rebate you would be a fool to pass this up! I may do a follow up review when I've done more recording with it.

15 Years Later...and It Still Rocks!!!

    By clyptoad

Comments about CAD Equitek E100S Large Diaphram Condenser Mic:

I've owned a CAD e100 since the mid 1990's and have never been disappointed in the device. I use it in my home studio for vocals, guitar, and piano; I even recorded some horns once and it did great. If the newer models are as good as my vintage one, every recording engineer/musician should have one in their quiver of transducers.
