I have owned my CAD mics for just over a year and they still sound great... For anyone that's used them and said they aren't good or they sound cheap, I suggest you hire a sound man that knows how to adjust your sound you need help... These mics hold up to any brand that cost 3X as much... If they are clipping when your playing you have the gain to high.
Keep in mind buying any set of drum mics is only the beginning to this endeavor... You will need a good set of cables to plug these things into your sound source... You will also need a sound source including a sound board...
I use a smaller micro board that sits behind my drum kit. All the mics are plugged into it so I can control what every mic is picking up and see if any of them are clipping... This micro board is then linked to a house PA... One quality cable does it all if your plugged in to a house PA at a club...
This 4 pack mic includes sturdy clips that mount to each drum rim... Very sturdy mounting and very pronounced diaphragms in each mic.
I have experimented with placement and found them to sound differently when they are directly aimed at the drum head vs angled... If you angle them they actually pick up a wider field of the drums and background ie: other instruments next to the drums.
Bass drum mic is excellent. I'm using it inside a 26" X 18" mahogany bass drum... I have it installed inside the drum using a mounted mic stand attached to one of the drum spurs. The mic is suspended using a stand and centered in the middle of the drum facing the batter but backed off and not close to the batter head...The sound is amazing, giving a VERY deep thud with no signs of clipping,
Snare drum mic is excellent. I'm using it inside a 14" X 7.5" maple snare drum. I have it installed facing directly downward not angled. It's picks up every sound crisp and clear...
Tom mics are also excellent and very articulate. My kit is a mahogany kit. One 13"X 10" tom and two floor toms sizes 16" X 20" and 18" X 20" ...I use one tom mic mounted at the top of the tom and angle it. The other tom mic is mounted to the smaller floor tom and also angled...I found that an angle set up with just the two tom mics allows the other parts of the kit to be picked up through the PA...
Heavy duty clamps...Very sturdy once they are positioned. Mine have been hit accidentally during playing and have never come loose or fallen off...Cone metal grill covers are a plus especially if they are dropped or hit.
Diaphragms inside the mics are very articulate they seem to do the job clearly...
I bought these mics because of the price. I think I made the right choice buying them vs paying more for another brand name...These hold up to any higher priced mic on the market.
Over all great value and I would recommend them to anyone looking to mic up their drum kit. The price is very fair and worth buying them hands down.

I ended up returning these mics. They sounded good at sound check but were extremely difficult to get mounted. The mounts were only adjustable along one axis. The mics kept falling off during the course of the set. They would work great if the mounts were removed and stands were used, but I wanted to haul the least amount of gear possible.
The mounts were not very adaptable. They did not hold the mics through the entire set..
The mics had good quality sound.
Good value for the price but you get what you pay for.

Comments about CAD Pro-4 Drum Microphone Pack:
my band is not one that waste a lot of time searching for the perfect sound. in my book less is better, because you won't have as much to forget, and or deal with if there is a problem. so having written that, our drummer uses only a kick and snare with a cow bell, ride and hi hat. not a lot going on so far this has been prefect. they are small stay out of the way while he plays, easy to transport and produce a sound that is usable live.
not sure if i'd record with them yet, although i don't see why not. maybe i'd like to have the over heads as well for that, but when most people are listening to music over there phones the quality only matters to the guy recording it and producing said sounds.
so again for the cost of these mics, they have been great so far.

Comments about CAD Pro-4 Drum Microphone Pack:
in my case, i needed a set of mikes for the band drummer. i own the PA. we play a lot.
i use an EV 320 for the kick. because i can.
the CAD snare and 2 tom mikes are great. period. and i like the mounts.
i use the CAD kick as the over head. works well...light and easy to hoist on a cheap boom stand. the things we do in the real world.
i like the EV mike bass drum eq. never used the CAD kick as a kick. never will. can't comment on it as a kick mike.
i can comment that we can make more noise than the law should allow. and get paid. and the CAD drum mikes are part of that equation.
nice case. nice mounts. ok sound. cost vs ROI = 100 %
bang on drum. mike picks up bang, sends to board. amps and speakers make loud. folks dance and go home. we get paid. day complete.

In closing let me just say, if this all you can afford, then sure go for it, what do you have to lose? Just don't think you found a diamond in the rough! If you really want good sound, then unfortunately there really is no alternative. You must spend some money! After wasting a lot of time and some money, I finally bought a quality set of the Shure DMK57-52 here on MF with a 15% sale. That is cheaper or at least the same price I was finding "Re-furb" sets on Ebay. A great deal. Equipment is generally the same as everything else in life, you get what you pay for!
I really liked the mouting clip.
Ok, here is where it gets ugly. After reading way too many reviews I decided to try these. Getting back into basement recording with Garage Band and being on a budget I took a shot. I sent them back after 2 days. With all due respect to other reviewers, the sound was awful! Sorry, but keep in mind, that at approximately $20.00 a mic, what can you expect? I returned them for a set of Audix Pro Fusion 4. These were a bit better and got me through for a while. After renting some mics I am currently selling the Audix on Ebay 7-2011 as I broke down and bought a set of the Shure DMK57-52. All I can say is, light years ahead. The Beta52 on the kick is heaven.
Don't let this rating fool you. 4 mics for this price is a good value. The quality is just not there.

We bought this for our sound company as a secondary drum mic set. But we no longer use it at our events anymore.Kick - Low head room and get full effect of the sound you have to use a lot of gain.Snare - Best mic out of the set. Captures the dips in the highs pretty good.Tom - Picks up just fine but you have to really sweeten the sound by using compression.Overall it is worth your time and initial investment to save your money and buy Audix or Shure microphones.
Comments about CAD Pro-4 Drum Microphone Pack:
I bought these to add on to the 7 piece set. Granted they're probably not top of the line, but I haven't had any problems with them. just mess with the eq 'till you get a sound you like. I think even the kick mic sounds good (which people complain of the most). Really would recommend; especially for the low budget drummer.
Comments about CAD Pro-4 Drum Microphone Pack:
Over all the mics are not bad. The snare mic sounds great. It took a bit of tweeking the tom mics but they come through very clean. The only mic I'm not fond of is the kick mic. It took alot of teekings and replacing to get it to sound how I wanted. Overall for the price these mics are well worth it just need to take your time getting it set right. Would recommend if you're buying on a budget.
Comments about CAD Pro-4 Drum Microphone Pack:
Straight to it. Dont be afraid of these because of price. They are veryyyy great quality mics.the kick mic is very good if you know how to eq,just turn down the lows and up the highs .Snare mic is soooo fat and clear .Tom mics are great, with a nice fat tone (:
Comments about CAD Pro-4 Drum Microphone Pack:
These mics do the job, and they are a steal, but the kick mic disgraces the name, and really should be used as a mic for a floor tom (where, for me, it does just fine). You won't get any pretty details out of any the mics, but they record clean. The mounting system needs to be tightened up periodically, but for a beginner, or for the core of your mic set-up, they are fine. Repeat: DO NOT USE THE KICK MIC ON YOUR KICK
