A solid set of drum mics.......Nice job.
I purchased these mics as a replacement for many more expensive professional mics that I had sold off throughout the years after closing a commercial studio. Some heavy hitters for professional studio use.

I purchased these mics as a replacement for many more expensive professional mics that I had sold off throughout the years after closing a commercial studio. Some heavy hitters for professional studio use.
I'm filling a need in a home studio. I didn't expect to get "high quality/robust" mics....just enough to do the job on a budget, as it's mostly for personal/occassional use now vs. my Senny's, AKG's Shures, etc., which were used in that commercial studio day in and day out.
Well, I'm actually very satisfied with this set for drum miking - Yes..even the kick mic that many seem to have negative opinions about. It works fine.....it's all about drum tuning/damping/mic position and proper EQ....not over EQ.....watch for those phase issues which will pull things apart.....miking drums properly is an art.
The mics are quite good and robust for my applications.....they will find many other uses as they all have different characteristics, and that's why you pick certain mics, not just the most well known, or expensive mics. I used to follow the pros advice, spent tons of $$ and finally learned that these are tools, and the user needs to be a craftsman, and it's what can be done in a craftsman's hands that makes the "magic". As long as the tools are well designed, hold up, and work properly, the rest is up to the user. I'm very happy with this CAD set. Are there better mics.....sure....but will these get you what you need on a budget.....YES!

Pretty decent set of mics, not bad for demos and home recording, give you a nice clear signal from each mic without a lot of bleed, but they don't sound very 'sweet.'
I could never get a good low pitched, fat floor tom sound out of any of the tom mics without a lot of EQ and compression, rack toms sounded ok though - The bass drum and snare mics were both ok, but nothing to write home about - The overheads felt ugly to me, and they didn't seem to sweeten up very much with EQ or reverb either.
In comparison I always used a relatively inexpensive set of 2 MXL condensers as overheads or room mics and either of those mics made the drumset sound better, fuller, and sweeter than the whole set of CADs. When listening back and mixing down I would almost always end up muting the CAD toms and overheads and using the MXLs instead.
I would've been better off spending a little more on a nice bass drum mic and an sm57 to go with my two good overhead condensers and doing a 4 mic approach (which is what I'm doing now).

Comments about CAD PRO-7 7-Piece Drum Microphone Pack:
These mics are perfect for the drummer on a budget. I don't regret buying them at all, and they are solid and should give me a long time ahead of recording. Learning how to properly record drums is more the curve than anything. Just buy them.

Comments about CAD PRO-7 7-Piece Drum Microphone Pack:
These are not made for recording. These are live mics. The kick drum has a small diaphragm. The larger capsule is misleading. They work for live settings when good mics aren't available. Cheap feeling. I don't expect these to last more than a few years. It is the best deal for the money. The sound quality is poor so make sure your drums/instruments sound really good. You could do ameteur recordings or demos with these mics. The overhead mics work on acoustic guitar. The kick drum mic is okay for bass guitar cabinets. I suppose, if you had to, you could use the clip-on snare and tom mics for other instruments or for room mics. Overall you get 7 mics that work for cheap. Great deal.

Comments about CAD PRO-7 7-Piece Drum Microphone Pack:
I found that for the price that they were, the sound was excellent. The snare was punchy, but the kick needed a bit of EQing to get the sound wanted. The Overheads are great for close micing the hi hats and I used one on the bottom snare with good results. The toms could be better, but really for the price they are still good.

Comments about CAD PRO-7 7-Piece Drum Microphone Pack:
I was skeptical because they looked like toys when I took them out of the case. But they did the trick for a 3 day live event. I used the snare & tom mics, and used the kick mic for my floor toms. Very happy w/ the results. The only negative are the mic clips. They can't be removed or moved to facilitate placement between drums.

Comments about CAD PRO-7 7-Piece Drum Microphone Pack:
These are not the best quality mics out there, I rarely say to get mics that are specific to any one thing such as drums, however these mics for the price do a wonderful job, the best things are the size and the mounts, these can be mounted out of the way much better than most drum kit mics, they don't require extra stands except for the kick mic of course.
As far as sound goes, they are pretty true to life, I had to eq the kick a tad but that is expected depending on the sound you want. We got these as a stupid deal and paid the same for the whole set of 7 that one SM57 costs and we can use them for other things also, the OH condensor mics are very bright and I don't recommend using them for anything but overheads, the kick mic works great for a bass cabinet and the snare mic is also good for lead guitar cab, tom mics are good for rythme guitar cabs and as before they just need a little eq and they sound great, we record bands live, and using these mics saved us a bundle and get a good enough sound that we don't have to work at mixing that much.

Was very impressed with this set. It comes well packed in a nice case and the microphones work well. The only thing I wished for was if it came with cables, but that's just a wish. Very impressive.

Comments about CAD PRO-7 7-Piece Drum Microphone Pack:
So far so good. For [$] bucks you could use them to drive nails! A hammer cost more per piece than these mics.
