Comments about Celemony Melodyne editor Software:

I was hesitant to buy Celemony's Melodyne editor because it is a bit expensive and in my experience, recording software often requires a steep learning curve to produce more than marginal results. After spending half a day with it, I am extremely and pleasantly surprised at the ease of use and the quality of the results. Using it on guitar solos and rhythm parts has been a snap (no pun intended) as the program allows one to select individual notes that can be snapped to a grid, lengthened or shortened, moved to different tone and changed in amplitude and timbre. Chords can be arpeggiated, weak notes made strong, and bad notes replaced. The corrections can be very subtle and graduated, thus retaining the human characteristic of the recording. It essentially makes recorded instruments and vocals as easy to manipulate as software instruments. I thought it would take a miracle to make my vocals aurally palatable, but the pitch correction macro tamed my wandering frequencies without sounding artificial. It even allowed me to correct places where I had rushed the lyrics. I am using Melodyne Editor as a plug-in in Logic, running on a MacBook Pro with 4 gigs of memory. It does test the limits of the memory, but it only crashed once in an afternoon, which is about par for the course. Editor works on only one track at a time, but this was completely sufficient for the type of corrections I required.

Comments about Celemony Melodyne editor Software:

Think I said it all.
I found the software very easy to use. It loaded up without a hitch. I'm using windows 7 on a laptop with 8 meg of ram.
To put it in a can make a frog sound good..... and jumping an octave in a wave file is a mouse click away.

I give it a 10 for my uses.
It all depends what you want to do and what your true needs are. It's a bit expensive but well worth the cost for a pro sound arrangement.

Comments about Celemony Melodyne editor Software:

This program has changed my home studio from a hobby into a moneymaker. Having the right mics/equipment is good, but having Melodyne makes all sorts of things possible that just weren't before. You will not be disappointed by this program.
This is the only program where you will have the ability to change the notes a voice is singing while making it sound like they actually sang them in theifirst place. The DNA makes this program irreplacable in any studio that records guitar at all. You need Melodyne before you need a DAW. It's that important.
I had a few tiny issues installing, but after that was all resolved, the program ran like a dream. Celemony has already proven itself to be a righteous company in my eyes and I'm sure they won't disappoint in the future.
The fact that you can get this program for this price is a joke. Similar programs that don't do half as much could cost double this price. Don't kid yourself, you can scrounge up the dough to infinitely inprove your recordings.
