Comments about Cerwin-Vega VE-15 3-way Tower Speaker:
Great loud speakers! If you have room, get these speakers!
Only cons are that the sensitivity level is 95db versus the 101db that the Cerwin-Vega! E-715's (prior model that the VE-15's replaced) had. Also, there are no tuning controls on the speakers like the E-715's had either.
On paper, it appears that the VE-15's are a down grade to their previous model (E-715) with lower sensitivity levels and no tone controls, but the sound quality seems to be consistant with the great sound that you would expect from Cerwin-Vega!
Like the E-715's, they do come with fuses to help avoid clipping.
The sound quality from these speakers is great. They hit lows very well but are not unbalanced. It should be noted that these are power hungry speakers and most home audio/video receivers will not have the necessary watts per channel that these speakers require to fully experience the sound that they are capable of producing. An audio/video or stereo receiver with left and right channel pre-amp outputs (pretty expensive features) is recommended to use a high powered amp (also pricey) to get the best sound.
With the price these speakers are listed at each, they are a great bargain for the sound quality you get (granted you have the right receiver/amp setup).
