There's no denying the many features these lights bring to bear that no other system has done before. The design is excellent with the ease of set-up, transport cases, super economical performance, multiple performance modes, light weight, and overall coolness! My band replaced a tree of 4 par 38 cans with these and the upgrade has been fantastic! Just a huge improvement accross the board! They are plenty bright, exude a super-effective wash since all four cans can now be any color, unlike the old 'one-gel, one color' design, they set up in literally two minutes, are easy to use, light-weight, and everyone in our band just loves them! Rarely have I been so impressed and so satisfied with the 'performance vs. the hype' of a product. But this light system delivers on all its promises.Yes, as others have said here, the build quality could be improved - nothing major, but you know, knucklehead stuff. Ours were missing one of the screws that hold the stand legs together. A trip to the hardware store fixed that, but it was annoying. But other than that, I hafta give these lights two thumbs up and 'green light' anyone who is considering them to go ahead and purchase with confidence. We're gonna buy another set so we can hit both sides of the stage in larger rooms. For smaller rooms, or for duos or singles, one is plenty! So go ahead and buy these. You will not be sorry. There's simply nothing else like them on the market!

I won't buy another one. My business requires my band to play outside a lot and you can't use these outside. From now on, I'll put my money into a more professional digital system that can be used in any environment. Also, the fact that 2 of the 3 units I bought have locked up on white indicates to me that this is going to be a problem for anyone who plans on using these lights more than occasionally. The cases the lights come in offer good protection, but won't last long if you're using them professionally.
I initially bought 2 of these systems for my small stage set up. As everybody says...easy set up and easy to run. But within about 2 months one of the footswitches went out. Lucky I still had the second system footswitch because I couldn't buy another one without buying the whole system. Then, one system locked up on white and I have not been able to get anyone with Chauvet or MF to tell me how to reset it without sending the unit in. So I bought a third system to replace it while I get the locked up system fixed. BUT....then a second unit locked in white mode within just a couple of weeks. Again, no help from Chauvet or MF without sending the unit in. The cost of shipping and repair, along with the down time, make it more cost effective to buy a new system. But who can afford $400 bucks every 3-4 months? So....I went back to using my old standby PAR 38 and PAR 46 sytems. Also, you can't use these systems outside and a great deal of my business occurs outside during the spring and summer months. While set up and transport is easy, it's not worth the cost when you'll have to replace it or repair it in just a few months.
The system is built pretty well, but easily locks up. The footswitches are plastic and break easily if you use them a lot. The case it comes in is adequate, but not roadworthy. Also, Chauvet does not provide an adequate manual to tell you how to reset the units. They want you to send it in for repair. This makes it cost prohibitive to working bands.
At $400 bucks, it is a little pricey if you have to repair or replace it every few months. Don't plan on having it repaired because the shipping costs, repair costs, and down time make it more convenient to just buy another one.

Comments about Chauvet 4Bar LED System:

These lights are so easy to set up. That's why I bought them. Very bright. For a bar band, cant go wrong. The problem I have with these lights is the power cords. They are maybe 4' long? They don't even touch the ground when on the stands at the lowest setting. What am I supposed to do with that. The cords are your typical removable power cords for amps or stage speakers or whatever. They are way too short. Sites sell aftermarket cords at 15' for about 25 clams a piece. I spent 800 clams on 2 sets of these lights. I'll probly wind up spending another 50 on longer cords. Anyone who has set up their own sound/lights/amps etc for a live music scenario knows how much of a pain running all the cables and power cords is. Really wish they had given me at least a 10' cord so I could actually plug these lights into a snake sitting at ground level.

The lights work great for a single act like myself. After cooking under can lights for years these were a welcome relief from the heat that can lights put out. My only complaint is with the case. The zipper is so cheap it broke within the first few weeks.

Comments about Chauvet 4Bar LED System:

I've had these for several years and they individually do what they do consistenty. There is not a lot of light. About the equivalent of 2 par 38's (300W), so you'll need 2 of them minimum for a 3+ band.I don't find DMX user freindly but I finally got 2 of the light bars linked together with proper DMX cables and one day it all quit and I had to go back to individual use. The most negative issue is the case. One of the worst in the industry. I've had to buy a keyboard case to put it in since the zippers and material are too flimsy and broke. So you will have to baby it and place it carefully to avoid case damage. I've had to repair the foot switch cables a few times and toughen up the strain relief. I've also had the cable break in the middle as well. Nice design but not too rugged.

I admit, tech support is minimal. The videos are the most helpful. I have two units, and wanted them to react the same via one foot pedal. The answer is plug in one pedal and plug dmx out of that unit, to dmx in to the second one. Then set them both to dmx. The first one acts as the master and the second as the slave. Both will react the same to the pedal. No one seemed to know that. I figured it out muself.
