      Comments about Chauvet 4BAR Tri:

Read the specs before you buy lights. These have the highest LUX. LUX measures the intensity of the light. These measure 3250 LUX. The brightest 4 Bar I've found.

Vivid colors with long throw. The foot switches are nice and offer some very usable settings, however if you really wanna make these things dance use the DMX and get a controller. The analog ones are ok but triggering these with a computer is the way to go.

The cases are molded and hold the lights well but the zippers are not for road use. They break pretty quick.

All in all still the best 4 Bar out there.

I just purchased the 4bar tri and was surprised at how bright these lights are. I bought them as a restock item and they work as good as new. Now I'm spoiled and I'm waiting for another set at restock pricing...

          Comments about Chauvet 4BAR Tri:

Bought 2 of these restock for my bar band. Was skeptical about the restock but for the couple bills per set discount I tried it. They appeared to be just rough condition boxes that really hadn't been opened.
Only problem was both foot switches had the cords ripped or twisted off at the switch. No problem MF offered to ship new A stock next day or give me a discount to have it repaired locally. I had it repaired, took 20min and they are as good as new.

The lights themselves are impressively bright. Solid build and the cases are a must and work well. Ran on auto sound active and also tried them with DMX although not live, I just plugged in the switches.

Pointed half at the band and half at the dance floor and they lit the room perfectly. We had nothing but compliments on the new light show.

Now will likely add either a swarm 5FX for the dance floor or a 150 Duo moving head.

Extremely happy with them and I'm very glad I went with the tri's over the regular 4bar, the extra brightness is worth it.

            Comments about Chauvet 4BAR Tri:

Musician's friend seems to sell restocked product without testing it. I have wasted hours re-packaging and taking product to UPS twice. They were sympathetic when I complained but ultimately I had to deal with the manufacturer. They have been responsive on the phone but it has been a month since I ordered this and I still can't use this. I recommend putting a big note on a returned product telling them what is broken and not to restock. Not getting any younger.

              Comments about Chauvet 4BAR Tri:

My very first thought on seeing these lights when they turned on was OMG this things are BRIGHT! The regular 4-Bar with 108 small LEDs look positively dim when placed side to side.

The much brighter LEDs permit MUCH better color mixing, allowing for yellows, violets and oranges that are much more striking.

While more expensive than their smaller LED counterparts, it is DEFINITELY money worth spending if you really need to light up a stage. For our band I use a mix of two 4Bar Tri's in the front and three of the standard 4Bar Flexs for back lighting.

The footswitch performance is rather disappointing to me. You step through the colors, and if you switch to one of the excellent internal chases and come back to a solid color it always brings you back to white rather than the color you left from. Also, you do not have access to any of the strobing functions via the footswitch. I definitely recommend using a regular DMX controller for anything other than turning on and off a single color.

The cases are soft sided and molded, a good fit to protect the unit. However, being cloth they are rather easily damaged. Zippers break kind of easily and the cloth can snag very easily. For heavy road work I definitely recommend keeping all the lights in a more durable road case.

If you're used to programming single lights the 4Bar approach takes some getting used to, as you're using 15 DMX channels. This is a good thing though, as most inexpensive controllers run their fixtures in banks of 16 channels, so even if your single light uses only 4 of them you still burn 16. Thus, if you use a controller such as the Chauvet Obey40, you could have completely independent controll of up to 48 lights, (12 4Bars), but if you were using single fixtures you could only independently control 12. Of course you can always run multiple lights on a single DMX channel, but if you're looking for flexibility in chases you want as much control as possible over each light.

The included stands are pretty lame. Get some decent stands and protect your investment, or mount them on truss, (which is VERY easy to do with the included hardware.)

In the photos posted the first shows the 4Bar Tri on the right. You can see from the faces that you can get a warm but bright illumination from them. These were both shot with no flash.

The other photo is from the back of the room. The 4Bar Tri are on the left and right on tripods from On-Stage...the supplied stands are nowhere near tall or sturdy enough. You can see that the Tri's really light up the fronts of the performers, and the back lights (4Bar Flex) provide visual appeal.

              Comments about Chauvet 4BAR Tri:

Whenever i first saw these lights set up in front of me i wondered how something that thin and light could produce the effects we where looking for.
The first time we cut them on it was daylight, And they where less then impressive, But later that night i got curious and ran them again in the house. They light up everything perfectly to the point i have had neighbors come ask me what was going on in here.
We use them for a Blues band, And although they produce more of a 'Club' feel they can be used for anything i am sure.
Everywhere we use them and play, There seams to be more energy. The crowd is more engaged, And everything turns out epic. the lights have surpassed what i expected of them, And have allready payed for themselves.

                Comments about Chauvet 4BAR Tri:

I've been looking for a realistic lighting solution for a while now. For my purposes, a lighting system has to be 1. easy to set up and break down, adding as little time as possible to the set up and break down process. 2. Bright enough to effectively light up the "dance floor" area. This system succeeds on both counts. I purchased the 4 Bar tri earlier, and even though I liked the unit very much, I thought that the intensity of the lights were a bit weak. These lights kept the ease and simplicity of the design, but kicked the intensity of the lights up several notches. This is a great product!

                Comments about Chauvet 4BAR Tri:

did 1 gig so far. I bought 2 trees of these 4Bar Tri's. The color washes were very good - more than I was hoping. It has added a visual a dimension to my group.
so far have only used it with the included foot switch. If it's capabilities increase when using a controller then I will be at a loss for words.
                so far so good
I'm new to the buying-lighting game so I don't know. researched extensively on line 1st. Went with Chauvet branded stuff only because I had heard of them more.
