I have to make a correction to a previous review here. While reviewing the user's manual (always a good idea!) I noticed that there indeed IS a way to control the chase speeds of this 6Spot from DMX. When the 8th channel specifies one of the eight chases (values 11 to 239), the 2nd channel controls the speed of the chase. That is on the manual page 9, but I haven't tried it out yet. That makes this unit much more useful, but I still give it a 4 rating, you can't dim the channels or make your own color mixes. I still recommend this as A LOT of BANG for the buck.

Very light, very easy to set up! The bar has a hole in the middle to slip on a light pole and screw tight there. (mine had to be filed down inside, the weld line was very promenent.) It is small and visually looks decent. LEDs are certianly low-maintenance. The spot beams are somewhat narrow, only 10 degrees, requiring a good 50 feet distance to cover a performer. That would be better for something like a mirror ball. Programming, even with DMX is very simple.
As for drawbacks, you may notice in the pictures that the three color beams (red, green, blue) do not exactly line up so cyan, magenta, yellow and white have colored edges to them. For me that is tolerable. I also noticed the yellow color is a bit washed out and not too saturated. The built-in chase programs are somewhat limited, most problematic for me was the inability to alter the speeds of the chases from the panel or with DMX. Also, strobes are not very 'stobe-y', they are on 50% and off 50%, so I would call them flashing, not strobing.
Still this is worth considering, it is very light, affordable, easy to set up, and one of the few ways to get up to six independantly controllable color-changing spot lights to highlight specific parts of a scene or stage. The red, green, blue, magenta and cyan colors are fairly rich, but not extremely powerful. The yellow and white are not so pretty. I'll have to see how long this holds up, but it appears solid enough if it is not abused.

i'm a dj who is very busy and find that this addition to my light show is not only very portable but easy to set up and run. takes no more room in the van,i even did 2 shows in 1 day a wedding and a club! ha ha both on time!!

We use these as accent lighting for stage shows, I would reccomend haze or fog to really make them pop. Nice and bright, and they are very responsive on sound active. Expect to get many years of service from them.
DMX or sound active, plenty of options. Several mounting options make them very versatile.

Not a bad price for what you get, with LED prices still high compared to incandecent, with all the different operating modes and chases these are a good bargain.
