    junk!!

Comments about Chauvet Abyss LED Rippling Water Lighting Effect:

Buy two units one arrive with a loose mirror and motor quit after 3 hour test. Replace by M.F and now works fine but the other unit motor got jam only after 6 hour of use max. Save the trouble and agravation. Project a good image in a light color surface from a max of 8 to 15 ft. with medium light room. Need remote control for speed and colors. If they dont start making reliable products you cant buy with confidence.Shame, shame, SHAME!!!

    Not so great.

Comments about Chauvet Abyss LED Rippling Water Lighting Effect:

Not very bright at all when house lights are on or par cans are on. The motor inside the unit is also quite loud. The effect does look good but the spread of the light is narrow. The unit is well made however with a metal body and it had some weight to it, mostly due to the motor.DMX should have definitely been added to this to adjust ripple speed and color remotely rather than the knobs on the unit. They really should use a lighter/quiter motor. The bracket could have also been about a 1/2" taller to accommodate the length of my O-Clamp so I can pack it and leave the clamp on.

    Simply cannot see it

Comments about Chauvet Abyss LED Rippling Water Lighting Effect:

This specialty rippling water effect by Chauvet was theoretically designed to project on the floor and therefore should work without fog. When I set her up on the truss, I thought she must be broken, could not see a single thing on the ground. Turned all the lights out, still could not see anything, projecting from about 15 feet up at perhaps a 45 degree angle. Had to go up the ladder and put my hand in front of it to even see that light was coming out. It's a good thing you can daisy 50 of these in a chain, because that is what you'll need to simulate a water surface. Even then, you will need to keep all the other lights off. Needs to go back to the drawing board.
