I bought two of these and the cable to connect them but no foot controller. First, one of mine arrived with the bulbs loose from the sockets. Getting the screws out to fix the bulbs was horrible. The screws are in with locktite or something. I stripped one of the screws trying to remove it and had to use pliers to get it out.Second, installing the gels is an exercise in patience if ever there was one. Whoever designed the retention system for the gels must have been doing drugs. I finally figured out that if I used a very small flat tip screw driver and inched the gels into place by removing pressure on the retainers, I could get the gels to stay. It took me 2 hours to set up both of mine. Now as for the lights themselves, the chase patterns are just OK and a little busy. The sound activation is fine on the low sensitivity setting but if you decrease the sensitivity, the lights really become annoying. The full-on setting is ok and the fact that you can control both lights from one unit with the cable connected is a bonus.Right now I'm just using these as an area wash for small gigs but I have purchased some par cans as well so I'm thinking to use these just for the drummer in the future. You can pole mount these or sit them on the floor. They are pretty stable sitting on the floor. For the money, I really shouldn't complain. They are just OK and nothing special. Probably why they've been discontinued.
We have been using these for 2 years. I just had to replace the foot controller, but we play 2-3 shows every week, so I figure it's normal wear and tear. They are easy to hook up, easy to control, and I think the chase and pattern settings work well. The gels get hot and need to be replaced once a year as they lose their color, and they are difficult to install, but the outcome is worth the extra effort. I recommend this if you're on a budget, but hurry, they are about to be replaced with other LED models.
I needed lights for my band, but I didn't want par cans on a stand because they are some what fragile with the wear and tear of many shows. I chose 2 of these instead, Im sure glad I did. They are simple to operate, 2 of them provide plenty of stage light. They were priced good. They were all i had hoped they would be.
Wow, this thing has suprised me we needed some cool lights for an 8th grade outdoor dance and it was the hit of the party, was used with a color disco ball, a small strobe, and some fog it was incredible dancing was made much more fun by this. My only bad review is the gel frames are insanely hard to use. The gels don't fit in, and it takes tons of wiggling to get it in the right spot, and if its touching the lightbulb a tiny bit it burns a hole through it, and the seize of the gels it has to be either concave or convex so be prepaired with some scisors or for a hassle...Otherwise amazing lights, what people don't mention is the back with LEDs that show what lights are lighting up, speed control, and sensitivity, mode button with LEDs to show what mose it's in, and an All On button. Great, You'll love them.
I purchased these lights with stands & foot controller. Two throw an impresive amount of light but I plan to buy two more. When used with fog they look even better. You can't beat these for the money. They are quick & easy to set up, even if you knew nothing about lighting you could be up and running in a very short amount of time. Four of these mounted in the right location with the use of a good fog machine will work great in most small to medium venues.
We picked up these lights to add to our small light system, sometimes we don't have the space to go in with the large system and operator. We also ordered the the foot switch and the lights work and look great, nice and compact easy to use and great for small rooms and for the price KILLER...!
