I pulled it out of the box, plugged it in, and started fiddlin' with the knobs. And, made some pretty cool effects! Needless to say, it's a snap to use. Even a drunken Monkey could operate this Laser. When sound activated, it works quite exquisitely. Expect to put quite a bit of distance between the Laser and the object you wish to project the effect on. Other than that, I see no real problem with this particular product.
This is one of the more economical green lasers, has some good patterns in manual mode. Well built, all manual adjustments are easy to get to. It's bright due to the eyes sensitivity to green light. If you need a good basic green laser that will respond to music or run manually and has some good patterns look no further. If you need something with more versatility - features look further. Such as a multi color laser (expensive!) would be a step up or one with filled patterns or maybe even text.
I recently got this laser as a replacement for another chauvet product that could not be repaired by warranty. I have to say, it blew my mind. The laser starts out rather dim, but once it gets warm it looks amazing. You can run a direct line into it so it will go to your music without using the microphone. It looks best with fog, and puts on quite a show if you have some good background fog for it. Overall I would say its a very nice laser.
