Comments about Chauvet MiN Laser FX:
Chauvet needs to get on the ball and stand behind thier products. I am still waiting to hear from them if they are willing to do this. I'll let you know if they step up to the plate.
Ok, here's the deal. I bought a Min Laser FX from Musician's Friend in June. I loved it. The laser was well handled and never dropped or mishandled. Five months after using this laser the projection didn't seem right and I heard what sounded like a loose screw rattling around inside the enclosure. I loved the laser so I figured if I could put the 'item' rattling around back in place, I would have to return the laser. When I opened it up I found the plastic 1" rotating disc had broken (cracked and split off) and that was why the beams were not working correctly and it was part of this 1" plastic disc was the noise rattling inside the laser enclosure. This is purely a defectice (single?) occurance, or has it happened to someone else? This laser is less than 6 months old. There is more though, read on.
I read the Musicians Friend policy and it only covers items, with specific's, that are only covered within 45 days of the 'shipping date'. What kills me is, I have been a devoted Musicians Friend customer for about 20 years now with literally thousands of dollars purchased from them. I do have to say except for this, Musicians Friend is extraordinary. It may only be the only bad experience I have had so far, knock on wood. Let's see it they come up to the plate to take care of a 20 year 'valued customer'.
Seeing that I could not return this laser, even though it was purely a defective product. I decided to contact Chauvet Lighting directly. I sent them a letter, with pictures attached care of 'both' thier Customer Service manager as well as thier Director of Operations at the main Manufacturing plant in Florida. Keep in mind, the broken piece of plastic that needs to be replaced is surely less than one cent. I am sure I sent a few bucks to help with the postage to send me a replacement plastic lense. I did Not send the money to 'purchase' the lense. However, I sent the letter more than 3 weeks ago and also included my email and phone number to contact me. I have yet to hear any reply from Chauvet at all. I am hoping this post will put a fire under someone's (you know). If not, it will say to me the folks at Chauvet could care less about thier customers. In which case, I would start to recommend American DJ products and cut off all ties with Chauvet. Thier choice.
IF I get a reply, or the problem gets corrected, I will gladly write a another post saying that I would stand by Chauvet. Meanwhile, I would love to hear if this has happened to anyone else.

PS: You can see ALL of our purchased Chauvet lighting gear on You Tube by searching 'Quigfest'. Moreso, by sorting by 'Upload Date'. Talk to me someone, anyone. Thank You
This product lasted less than 6 months because of a 1 cent defective plastic lense.
If it only lasts 6 months, why bother selling it.
Comments about Chauvet MiN Laser FX:
This lighting effect with LED and Laser is very fun... many patterns and motions to choose from , and psychadelic superimposed imaging... think "Pink Floyd-like" stuff.... I would recommend a fog amchine with this as lasers are less visible if they are not striking something.... Buy a clamp, doesn't come with one....
Small very cool effect.... inexpensive....
seems ok I have no frame of reference....
I would say well worth the cost for the " cool " factor.
