Comments about Chauvet Obey 6:

I suppose if you're already a DMX expert setting up this board would be no problem. I'm new to DMX and the "Quick Reference Guide" that comes with this is basically worthless. It doesn't tell you much of anything other than what the buttons do. It doesn't explain anything like setting up "chases" and such. I've been a sound engineer for many years and have run some pretty complicated boards, but this is not a "plug-n-play" piece of equipment. Chauvet really needs to have an in depth manual included with their product so that "newbies" like me can understand it.

    Comments about Chauvet Obey 6:

picked this up with no previous reviews. my biggest beef with this is that it does not mount nicely in a rackmount. so i have it slightly rigged up ghetto style atm til i find a way to make it mounted in a nicer setup. not sure why these companies can't make something that fits in a standard rackmount. so far i have hooked 4 ADJ lights hooked to it. it seems to work well including the audio sync. the manual is horrible and is completely worthless. basically you need to select the channel 1 and then either select manual rgb, fade, or chase. after that you can select the light colors for each of these. it will strobe if you lift the fader tied to that which is cool cause it strobes with the leds changing colors even. for a basic light system it seems pretty solid overall and does work with the ADJ tripars. hopefully this helps people out. there is no programming so it's basically something you turn on autopilot and have someone drive manually in between. works good for a small setup though.
