Comments about Chauvet Par 56 8 Light System:
Love the lights themselves, even the stands are fine but not so much the controller. I set everything up and turned on the system. The Obey 3 controller for the simple variety of colors (using their color coded buttons) worked fine, red, green, Cyan etc... The sliders for pure red, green and blue worked fine but not much else. The chase, macro, strobe functions didn't seem to function properly and that bothered me thinking it possibly not a very quality product....so I called, asked and was given the ok to exchanged it for the Obey 40. In just a very few days the Obey 40 showed up (I had to pay for return shipping and the extra for the 40 but was happy to do so). It does far more than I need now and I can program anything...oh and all the buttons work, there is a hookup for a smoke system also... Not related to quality but for general use.... to make this whole system set up VERY EASY..... When setting up the system I installed all the lights on the stands. I then ran all the DMX and power chords in a clean manner and zip-tied them to the cross bar of the stands. I even used the braces that come with the cross bar (you will see what I mean when you buy this, nice addition to keep fittings from breaking) and now when I am done playing I just loosen the clamp for the top upright bar and all 4 lights, all the wiring etc... comes off in one piece. I hang this in my trailer, fold up the bottom of the stands and put them under the lights. Now I can set up the lights in a few minutes. I set up the stands, grab the 2 bars of lights, hook up power and a DMX cable to go to the controller on one DMX cable to go to the other light bar and I am done. The lights are so thin both sets of lights on the side of the trailer only stick out maybe 10". They are held with 2 small bungee cords and away I go. Great lights great controller (the Obey 40)ALSO the Obey 40 will mount in a rack!!!
