A 3- or 7-channel DMX-512 slim LED PAR can with 108 colored LEDs and a slim profile.
The Chauvet SlimPAR 56 is a traditional LED PAR can housed in a casing that is only 2" thick, which allows it to go where other PAR cans don't fit. Powered by 108 red, green, and blue LEDs, the LED PAR can offers 3- or 7-channels of DMX control. It also provides static colors and red, green, blue color mixing with or without a DMX controller. Built-in automated and sound-activated programs operate in either master/slave or DMX mode. The Chauvet SlimPAR 56 DMX PAR can also features a variable speed pulse effect and a double-bracket yoke that can also act as a floor stand.

LED is the way to go. The days of lugging around those hot cans are gone. I've had mine for several months and have had no issues. The plastic casing seems durable enough and only time will tell. While not extremely bright I have been pleased enough to recommend them.

These LED Pars are the perfect size and very bright. They are very durable - our gear usually takes a beating and these have held so far for over a year with 20+ uses.
We use these for DJ jobs as a row of 4 on a truss facing the crowd or on the back wall as up-lighting. We also use them as wash lighting for live bands. I'd say they are effective up to 20 ft (more than enough for most venues).
They work great with the Chauvet Stage Designer 50 through DMX and also work great with stand-alone pre-programmed mode. The sound active mode is better than most.
Great buy for any price!

You can't go wrong with these lights.The light weight slim design and double legs makes setting these up for up-lighting a breeze.Color mixing is flawless and they are bright!
I had some par led cans from another well known brand and when I got the SlimPar 56's I was actually embarrassed that I even used the other lights.The difference in color quality and brightness was night and day. I own 8 of these lights and plan to add many more!

I use these lights and a controller for my bands... I am just the drummer, but I am also the light guy now as well, but since these lights are so easy to setup, manage during the gig, etc., I don't mind taking on the light responsibility!

Great lights that will can be used in a stand alone situation.
You can scroll thru and set the basic preset colors with the onboard LED menu or plug in a DMX controller set a custom color unplug the DMX cable and it will keep the color until you unplug the light.
It also has some very nice preset programs it will run thru and can be set to sound active.
Very decent throw, about 5' wide at 20' so they are pretty narrow beams.
The only bad thing I can say about them is the fact they have a plastic housing . It's a very durable plastic but still plastic.
I will be buying more of these in the future for plighting purposes.

These lights have also performed VERY WELL as uplights in wedding tents... the spread could be a little wider, but the throw is really quite good. I run 8 units on a 3 channel DMX controller. The setup time to string DMX in the tent is the ONLY bummer... actually programming the light is a sinch! Chauvet nailed this part really well, very easy.

I took 2 SlimPAR 56's with OBEY3 for mobile disco.Before I had only Elan and KintaX, and had to buy some floodlight for colouring the dancefloor. They do the job. Leightweight, compact and easy to use. Many features (standalone/DMX/auto/slave modes, extra bracket, daisy chain...) They are not so solid and not extremely bright, also the angle is not very wide, but they really cost the money! I will definetely buy more (as much as I can - for uplighting).

I purchased a couple of these to try out for our rock band's live performances. They are easy to setup and look very professional. I'm in the process of buying another 4. Two used as uplighting in front of the drums looks awesome. Got them with the obey 3 controller and it's ideal for a simple show. Used with or without the controller, these things are awesome for the money. Compared with bulky hot par cans, or more expensive LED par cans they or good., Not the brightest compared to those but just add a couple more and you'll be set to go.
