OVERVIEW

Light-weight and unobtrusive with full, clear sound.

Designed for touring and live-sound applications, the Crown CM-311AESH is a rugged head-worn microphone with unequaled performance. It sounds like the best handheld microphones ” full, clear, and distortion-free, even with the loudest singers.

The CM-311AESH is the latest version of Crown's proprietary Differoid technology. Its cardioid pickup pattern rejects sounds from the rear, such as floor monitors. Its noise-canceling ability rejects sounds at a distance, such as instruments on stage and crowd noise. This results in the CM-311AESH having outstanding gain-before-feedback and isolation.

Lightweight and comfortable, the mic's headband and boom adjust to fit any singer. An included pop filter greatly reduces breath noise and pops. Because of the boom's unique behind-the-ear design, it does not cover up the singer's face.

NOTE: Putting an XLR connector on the CM-311AESH and connecting to a mic input with phantom power WILL damage the mic element.

Great headworn mic

By lifegazer

Comments about Crown CM-311AESH Headset Wired for Shure:

The Crown CM 311 is probably the best head worn mic around. I have tried the Countryman Isomax along with various Shure and AKG head worn microphones. The Shure and AKG are ok for background vocals or people with soft voices but can?t handle heavy sound pressure. For sound quality, the Countryman and the Crown are neck to neck. I feel the Countryman might have a slight edge over the Crown in sound quality, but not much. I read another review here about the Countryman and feedback problems. I had that with my first Countryman that was omnidirectional, but my next one was unidirectional and I had no problem after that. While both mikes fit well, the Crown is easier to adjust. I am a drummer and percussionist and have no problems with the mike staying put with my head movements. As a drummer that sings lead and background vocals, the problem with head worn mikes are that you can?t back off the mike for background vocals. The Crown can be easily adjusted close or away from the singers? mouth. I have both a wireless Crown CM311 and a wired version and both work great.

Crown Cannot Be Beat..

Comments about Crown CM-311AESH Headset Wired for Shure:

This thing blows me away! The fit, once it was customized to my head, is completely comfortable...you soon forget you're wearing the thing. The weight of it helps in this respect also. Its sound can easily be compared to your better wireless handheld mics. It's a full, rich and clear sound and the way the mic is positioned, you have to really crank out the volume at ridiculous levels and stand close to a monitor or main to get any shred of feedback. In short, you have to work at finding a feedback spot with this beaut. The Countryman models pale in comparison to this. Their sound is thin and weak and moreover, it's a feedback magnet. I wouldn't recommend that unit to any musician (I think it's best suited for broadcasters, theatre and lecture folks). The Shure WH-30 is also an inferior product to the Crown unit. The WH30 doesn't stay in place and if you wear it for more than 20-minutes, you're likely to bleed from your temples. Right. It's that uncomfortable. Moreover, the Shure's sound just can't compare. Personally, I'm surprised that it's as cheap as it is. With that said, I guess what you're paying for with the Countryman mic is the size and style of it. You're really not paying for sound quality.Keep it mind, Garth Brooks, Madonna and others use this EXACT same model. In closing, if you're going with a headset mic, this is one of the best, if not the best, available.

I've had this headset for about 8 months and it hasn't let me down. The sound is great and it holds position even when I'm really jamming hard.
