Comments about dbx 131s Single Channel 31-Band Graphic Equalizer:

This was a replacement for an older 31 band EQ. This went right into my rig and worked great right out of the box. Pro quality product, heavy duty and rack mountable. I would say give this a try. Love the 12db gain feature.

Comments about dbx 131s Single Channel 31-Band Graphic Equalizer:

Overall I am happy and would recommend this equilizer to anyone looking for the basics. If you are going to be fiddling around with the sliders a lot or need to change the settings often this may not be the eq for you as you may wish to find one with presets like Alesis offers. But if you are going to set and forget or only adjust a little here and there this might be the one. I have owned dbx equipment before and have been satified so far in most every aspect.
Nice EQ with basic features. Its nothing terribly fancy but has what I need to get the job done. I use this equilizer for fine tuning my bass rig which is sort of overkill considering the number of bands, but I like the flexibility it lends in helping to shape your sound. It is also great for helping to get rid of muddy or boomy sound that you may sometimes have trouble with.
Well built piece of gear. Expect it to last me a long time. Controls are pretty solid, 31 sliders (20Hz to 20kHz) have a good quality feel about them with a center detent that clicks. My only gripe is that there is no power switch, but that is minor and I suspect most similar units don't have a power switch either. Has an XLR and TRS input / output, along with the following controls: bypass, low cut, and 6 / 12 dB modes of operations, input gain (-12 to 12dB). Also included is a clip LED and a basic LED level meter (-10 to +18dBu). It is also very quiet which I like very much and has good dynamic range. Specs are pretty good in general.
Good basic eq. Though there are fancier units out there, I think this unit is worth $160. If I have no trouble with it, it will be money well spent.
