Comments about Denon DN-S3000 Table Top DJ CD Player:
I've been DJing on vinyl for several years as mainly a Hip-Hop mobile DJ up until a couple of years ago when I switched to the Denon DN-3000's. I have to say that if it weren't for Denon having the vinyl-like spinning platter, the transition from vinyl to CD would have been much more difficult for me. I've tried other CD players that only have a stationary jog wheel or platter, but the feel is totally different from vinyl, and would take much longer to get used to. As far as quality goes, I've had a couple of problems...one with the CD loading mechanism not loading the CD. The other being the platter having too much play, or getting a little bit loose as time goes on. There is a torque screw that will tighten the top of the platter, but it won't control how the platter spins, which is the tension of the wheel. Other than that and the price being a little high, these turntables are the best CD turntable out on the market for DJ's that do a lot of sratching/cutting, or that are turntablists. The only other CD turntable that can compete with this one is the Numark CD player with the 12" wheel. However, as a mobile DJ that has to setup/breakdown equipment, you still have that bulky feel of a Technics SL1200. The Denon is much more compact even with cases.

Coming from a strictly vinyl setup, I can say that this unit surpassed my expectations when making the jump to cds. the platter feels VERY close to the real thing and the scratching sounds great too. I love the platter effects and the dump mode.
Comments about Denon DN-S3000 Table Top DJ CD Player:
The Denon does exactly what I'd thought it'd do, plus more. It was pretty simple to learn and seems to be made very well. Kinda pricey though, but compared to the prices of every other real-time CD scratcher, it's cheap. Pretty much like using a regular record turntable. The effects it can do are good also, like pitch and key shift, and the dump mode.

Hmmm... first reaction was "WOW this sounds better than my dads hifi CD player for his home stereo" Yes it reproduces sounds with a great warm yet precise quality. As for doing its job, well it can be used to mix very easily, and scratching will take some getting used to but the feel is very solid. I would not hesitate to buy it.

The only thing that is bad is that you can't change the pitch with the wheel while the player isn't in scratch mode
