Comments about Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Factory Bundle:
I purchased a MBOX Pro a few months ago. I am now running Pro Tools 8 and it works great! It comes with some key ingredients such as Midi, SPiDf, 4 audio inputs, 2 Mic Pre's, 2 headphone outputs, and 48V Phantom Power. I bought the unit for recording while traveling in my RV. It functions perfectly on with my Macbook. And, it sounds really good! It is easy to use and small enough to fit in my notebook backpack. The structure is pretty solid so it should last a long time. If, you looking to go mobile this is a great way to go!
Comments about Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Factory Bundle:
I've had the Mbox 2 Pro for about 2 years now, and I've been really pleased with it. Pro Tools LE is not the easiest program, but once you get the hang of it, it's very powerful. The issue I have is that there are not many inputs. Also, Pro Tools is not compatible with any inexpensive interfaces with more inputs. If you're planning on recording your whole band at once and you don't want to drop thousands on it, you may have better luck with an M-powered product with more inputs, or a Cubase-oriented interface from Presonus or MOTU.

If you want THE FACTS about the MBox 2 Pro Factory Bundle, read this review:- Despite what other reviews say Digidesign DOES provide 90 days of complimentary tech support with this product. You have to register the MBox and Pro Tools software online first!- Installation of the Ignition Pack is VERY time consuming. Talk to Digidesign Tech Support about the "Installation Tutorial Videos", they're an absolute MUST unless want high blood pressure!- Don't waste your time with iLok tech support. They're simply unwilling and incompetent. If you have iLok issues, call Digidesign. I've used virtually every other medium for professional and recording. The bottom line is, Pro Tools is THE standard used by nearly every real studio. As with any pro recording system, you'll need to use a good set of powered monitors, and a good deal of skill, for proper mixing. Once you learn the MBox 2 Pro interface, you'll be well on your way to cutting pro-quality recordings. I had been using the same Pro Tools system since 2001. It still works fine, but I bought the MBox 2 Pro as an update/upgrade for my studio. If you're a beginner, this system will grow with you and you'll be very impressed with the Ignition Pack. If you're a pro, you're likely using Pro Tools already and the MBox 2 Pro Factory Bundle is a no-brainer.
Comments about Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Factory Bundle:
I bought My M-Box 2 Pro just recently, previosly I was using Creative Audigy 4 sound card (which I thought was good) I was wrong, like totally wrong. Creative stuff is ok when You wanna play video games, but when I was making music with it, it was total disaster. Anyway I got my M-box connected with Mackie 1402-VLZ3 mixer, Mackie is connected with EVENT TR8s monitors, and rest are midi usb stuff, keyboard, torq, trigger finger so on. The vocal quality with M-Box is just amazing, although I have to admit that I'm disappointed because I can't connect My Audio Technica AT3035 via mixer, but It goes straight to M-Box. I don't know if that's good or no but it's how it is. I had some problems with Installing Pro Tools, and honestly I have no Idea why they give 2 Pro Tools In the bundle. 1st I installed Pro Tools 7.0 just 2 reinstal it in next couple of minutes and install Pro Tools 7.3 and upgrade it. Guys from Digidesign We don't need billions of cds we just need right thing! However this doesn't make it worse. The price is pretty high.. Yes It is, but it's worth of this money. Lots of plugins, amazing sound quality, no strange noises on the line. M-Box if You're about to record whatever with high quality just grab it.. but 1st prepare your wallet to get empty. Great equipment!!
Comments about Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Factory Bundle:
First of all pro tools is a very advanced piece of software yes you can click and record on a instrumental track and bang song done. But the Mbox 2 Pro allows you to go way more advanced than that. This is the exact piece of equipment you need if you want to do recording at sample rates at up to 96khz with no latency. Sound quality is awesome and all the complaints about the sound not as good as HD is this I record through a very expensive preamp mic and mixer so that's why my vocals sound like I want. You pay for what you get and this is a true studio keeper the Mbox Mini is perfect for mixing on the road as is the Mbox 2. The Mbox 2 Pro is good enough for true studio use and that's what I wanted also note that you need to learn how to use the software to get good results.
Comments about Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Factory Bundle:
Yes, it's expensive, but it has a nice variety of inputs and outputs. The phono preamp is great and the input pads are a nice touch. The best part is that the unit can be completely bus-powered, including the phantom power. It also comes with a bunch of bundled software (but not the full versions).
Comments about Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Factory Bundle:
Man, this is a great piece of Studio equipment. I love the sound quality. If you know how to record and mix; you can make your recordings sound just as good as industry recordings. My recordings sound a lot better since I purchased this item. The plug-ins sound awesome. I run Protools on a Macbook with 1GB of Ram. Make sure that you get a recording hard drive. Recording to your system drive can result in fewer plug-ins and reduced track count. I record all of my files to a Lacie Recording Hard Drive with 250GB of Storage. The Mbox2 Pro is a beast. Don't miss out. Get it while you can.
Comments about Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Factory Bundle:
I do like the phono inputs and the fact that it has 1/4" INS and headphone jacks on the front of the panel. It does perform all the basic functions that I need in my home studio; I was just hoping for better quality sound.
Comments about Digidesign Mbox 2 Pro Factory Bundle:
After about 3 weeks of looking for a review on this thing, I found nothing except useless "star" reviews and of course digidesign saying its the next best thing to sliced bread. So I decided to write my own!I am a recording engineer major in college, and have extensive use with assorted microphones, digital interfaces, speakers, rooms, and even some analog tape machines. I've used logic, samplitude, sequia, and of course Protools. All of these programs have their flaws, but I find Protools to be particularly good for tracking, and extremely easy to use for editing and mixing. The mbox 2 pro gives you a full 4 inputs, 2 with pre amps, and 2 in the form of aux ins. The dedicated monitor output is awesome, and the D/A converters sound great. Im running a macbook pro, 2.0ghz, 1.5g ram, and protools screams on it. I can track the 4 tracks with little latency, and it runs natively on intel processors. The headphone amp sounds good, and the second headphone out can be switched to use as a studio monitor if desired.Over all, the mbox 2 pro excells and being a middle ground between the 002 system, and the basic mbox. The high resolution sounds good, and the firewire can bus power the unit for on the go gigs. My first impression of the unit was that it was bigger then I expected, but thats simply to fit all the I/O's on the back of it.I fully expect I could record a drum set on this, with 2 mics for overhead stereo, one on the snare, and one for the bass drum with good results. If your looking in to getting a protools system with project studio capability, this is definatly worth the money. Im not sure that the extra plug ins are worth the extra, but I havent used "Maxim" to its full potential yet, and the joomeek compressor and EQ really shine. The analog delay sounds great. The whole package is definately worth the extra money for protools, which will only run with digidesign hardware present. (!)
