I read some of the annoyances people have with this unit and its basically ignorance on the users part. 1st the squelch is useless.. any ajustment other than ful off drastically shortens the range and causes drop outs... the transmitter need to be adjusted so it only shows its peaking on the transmitter when you're hitting the strings hard.. other than that you will get distortiooion... finally you have to adjust the output on the back of the transmitter to match the volume you have when you are hardwired into the amp.. I use pedals and active pickups and the only adjust ment Ive ever had to deal with is a slight lowering of the gain when I am in an overdrive channel.. the whole process will take 10-15 mins... and thats with going back and fort from wireless to cable to match the output... once its set.. its set for good.

I bought this about a month ago when the nice people at a local shop told me I would never have to buy another system again. I got it home and it cut out when I simply moved. I'll never buy a digital reference product again. I was truly disgusted.

Highly satisfied!

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

I was always skeptical on buying a wireless system as I hear many horror stories of them cutting out, tone loss, etc. I shopped around for a few weeks and came across the DR-3500. I bought it a little over a year ago and cannot say one bad thing about it. I have never had any tone loss, signal failure, or anything. It's easy to use and very handy for gigging/playing around the house. I can play my guitar upstairs, downstairs, and across the street (seriously, I've tried it) if need be. Get rid of the cord dependence! Sure, it's up there in price but you'll end up spending more money if you buy a cheaper one. Rule of thumb for buying wireless: NEVER BUY ANYTHING UNDER $250.

A True Dependable Workhorse

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

After trying Sure, Senheiser and EV systems I was frustrated by the lack of alternative choices without spending 1000's of dollars on a amplified system. A friend recommended I try this - I laughed at at him! I play 6 nights a week in Vegas and this system is FANTASTIC. Never drops out, never fails, sounds just as good as a cord (once you balance the gain settings). My only gripe is I have gone through several of the pre moulded cords but at 15 bucks every 6 months I can handle that. If you are looking for a great wireless at ANY price - BUY THIS ONE!!

EXCELLENCE!

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

I had originally purchased a Sennheiser EW172 Wireless system. It was a great unit for about a month (maybe two dozen shows). That unit died, so I sent it to a repair shop that shipped it off to Germany to get repaired; during that time, I picked up an identical unit off eBay, it died within a half dozen uses.I then picked up the Digital Reference DR-3500 and I have used it for dozens and dozens of shows and it has never failed me. I like that it uses AA batteries, thus I use rechargeable batteries.I thought Sennheiser was the best, but in my experience, this unit has outperformed TWO Sennheiser units that were almost twice the price.I would have given the unit 5 stars for all categories if it had only had an XLR output on it...

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

This is great for the value. If you're looking for a good wireless syastem, then I recommend the DR-3500. I have't experienced any problems with it yet. Just know that always buying batteries for the transmitter will get annoying.

Same as Audio-Technica ATW-2110 2000

By Equip. Man.

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

Just a quick note, this Digital Reference DR-3500 is the exact same piece of equipment as the Audio-Technica ATW-2110 2000, item # 276530. I discovered this while product comparing in my research before buying a wireless system. The support tech in live chat confirms this is the same product with a different brand name. I've decided to get the much better German-made Sennheiser EW 172 G2, which has a metal case (both receiver and transmitter), and gets much higher reviews, even if it does cost a bit more. This product, however, would be an option to seriously consider if price was an extremely limiting factor, and durability wasn't as important to me.

Digital Reference DR-3500: awesome buy

By guitarnate

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

I have been using this wireless system for two years now. I've traveled with it, used it with my tele, my acoustic, my les paul, my ibanez. It's played through a vox tonelabSE direct to mixing board, through a pedalboard to a Mesa Blue Angel, and through a Lab5. The range on this unit is really great. It's easy to change channels and adjust volume both in the belt pack and the receiver. After getting it adjusted (which is easy) the quality is as good as a using a cable. I put hours on this set every weekend and it just performs great. I haven't tried them all, but I think this might be the best deal out there!

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

Just got this thing and it sounds awesome! It actually acts as a clean boost for my 5150 and boogie amps. Clean reproduction all the way down the block and at gigs. No dropouts. I don't even use alkaline batteries and get 7 hours out of it. Shreds a cord. I'll never go back to a cord again. Terrific value

Awe Inspiring

By myspace.com/npirocks

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

I would like to say that this system is the sweetest in its price range, by far. It definitley beats out the SHURE and any other out there. The tone is not only good its identical to using a cable. The only thing I can say about the DR name is that they are very inconsistent. The first one I bought the antenna was bad, and the reciever wasn't good either. So just make sure you get a warranty, and your covered. But once you get it all straightened out you can walk down your block without it cutting out. So definitely an amazing buy, and I recommend it to everyone. Especially those looking to Rack it!

Comments about Digital Reference DR-3500 Instrument Wireless System:

I first used this in band practice to see if it would do what it clamed and I had a hard time with it. The volume would cut in and out, I couldn?t get a good tone and I switched back to a braded cord after two songs. The next time I went to practice I figured I would try it out and I haven?t had a problem with it since. I found a great tone with it now and I have played one show with this and had no problems. There wasn?t a spot in the bar that I didn?t get a good signal. The one thing that really needs improvement is the belt clip. By the end of the show it was gone and I had the transmitter in my back pocket. A great buy for the price.
