I picked up a Digital Reference Mic in a package deal (not ever hearing of them) at a pawn shop the day of a show as a throw in. I use a Shure SM58 and our lead singer uses a Shure SM58 Beta. That night, I noticed her Mic was just really coming through a lot clearer than mine during sound check. So I thought what the heck and I plugged in the DRV200 to try. The clarity, volume, and tone, was so much better than the Shure 58. It was every bit as clear as the Beta. So I used it for the show, I sang with so much more confidence, it was like being in the zone. I would have bet this was an expensive mic and I had taken the guy at the pawn shop. The next day I looked it up and was floored by the price. It price was next to nothing! Ridiculous. Love this mic. It's "my" mic now.

I bought 2 of these at a big discount on sale. For the money, they're a good alternative for backup/spare mics. The sound quality is acceptable, but you'll need a decent preamp. One caveat: if you like to swallow the mic, then these might not be for you, as they distort if you're too close.

Comments about Digital Reference DRV200 Dynamic Lead Vocal Mic:

I sometime run a line of 6 mics, four SM 58s and two of these and I have a difficult time telling any difference. If I need another Vocal Mic this will definitly be my choice. Cannot be beat for double the price

Comments about Digital Reference DRV200 Dynamic Lead Vocal Mic:

The digital reference drv200 is a quality microphone! I got this mic a while back on sale for a deal that was to good to be true . Even with the current price it is well worth the money. It is a little bit heavy but it sounds amazing! The sound is very clear and I use it all the time now. This mic come with a carrying case/bag and a very durable rubbery clip. Don't be hesitant, buy this mic!

I just bought this Mic and used it at first with my fender 150 PA to test it out, though it doesn't have an on/off for a lead vocal Mic it is wonderful i bought a low quality 15 dollar XLR and there was NO feedback, perfect Mic and only 60 Bucks! good for a semipro band but not for a DJ

Comments about Digital Reference DRV200 Dynamic Lead Vocal Mic:

This is a good value microphone. It does not have an on-off switch. It does seem to deter feedback however it does not have the gain and higher tone quality of more expensive microphones. In general I have to increase the volume to bring it up to level with other singers in the band and increase the treble setting

Comments about Digital Reference DRV200 Dynamic Lead Vocal Mic:

I got mine in the 3 for 1 deal. If that's still up, jump on it. Don't be fooled by the ridiculous price or the lack of a well-known name -- this is an excellent and well-made mic capable of delivering a first class vocal performance. This is good value at its regular price of (currently) C$70 -- to get three of them for that price is insane.

As others have said, the sound is very reminiscent of a Beta 58... in fact you'd be hard-pressed to tell them apart with you eyes closed. Substantially more clarity and presence than a regular 58, a lot less EQ required on the board.

Very solidly constructed, handles well, looks good.
