The highest is pristine, but the lows (something around 450hz and down) leave much to be desired.
I have owned the MA10DBK (which is the equivalent to the above unit) and have had nothing but rave reviews from clients regarding their mixes. I love them for their small footprint on my desk(s) and enjoy mixing them with a dual 8" sub woofer and two other sets of reference monitors when necessary to get the best quality mix. I use them specifically via the digital optical input and have had absolutely no problem with them at all. I love these little speakers for near/mid field referencing. I would recommend them to anyone interested. I use a set of Tannoy Prot J plus studio monitors for my mid field, MA10DBK's for the near, and a pair of KRK RP8 Rokit Powered Studio Monitors for my far field. I enjoy what I do, and can only guess that other people who have ridiculed these monitors need to reassess their room placement, and perhaps have a professional come in and check the room dynamics and fix it (mo-pads, foam, etc.).
If you want to monitor your sound at a low price these seem to fit the bill. They are sufficient both for the high and low end, and they look great too! They fit well on the desk. It beats keeping the headphones on all the time.
I am not a professional at all but I know how pro studio monitors sound like and they are very good. I use these monitors just for listening to my music like normal people do. I can say that the MA-10D is very impressive for the price. I am supprised that is goes 45hz to 35Khz on the feq response. I really recommend people who don't have that much money to buy these since for the price they are super and very flat response. These monitors really sound like the person is singing right front of you.
I thought I was getting a steal, but I guess you truly get what you pay for. These monitors have a nice look, but the sound qaulity of horrible. I went back to using my computer speakers for now until I can find a good qaulity pair of monitors.
These are not very good monitors! I had mine for about 3 months and then sold them! I bought them for my small studio, but as soon as i got them i knew i wasted my money. My stereo hooked up to my computer was better and much cheaper. I suggest save up and get better monitors.
