The price sold me, the features hold me. I like the versatility of the UR-80 you can utlize this interface in in numerous ways. Highly recommended to those on budget w/limited space.
Nice product overall. For the price however, Edirol could have included some mor analog outputs instead of just one RCA(left & right) output. Also, the headphone output is quite low. Needs better amplification in that department. The mic preamps are okay but I suggest that anyone who purchases this item should purchase a mic preamp to go with it. If you want to get your mic signal up to -6db without a mic preamp, you'll have to turn up the preamp on the UR-80 which will result in the noise level going to about -45db.As a control surface it does what they said it would. It works well with the included Home Studio and Hyper Canvas softwares. You also get a CD burner included. Overall, it's a nice product but the headphone amp and the preamps could be better.
I tried to use this with Cubase SX 2.0 and found that the USB interface preset for it was incorrect as the play, record, stop buttons, etc., were incorrect. This was solved via the FAQ on the Edirol site. The main problem with this is audio recording and playback: The sound card appears to work OK initially but on random occasions the playback skips and this is also during recording. Trying to record using a metronome is therefore impossible with the metronome skipping.
