A good PA starts with the speakers first. These double 15's are awesome. You "do not" need subs in a small to medium venue. If you need more low end you just EQ it in. These horns will throw to the back of a good size club. Also the 15's are some of the best cast frame speakers you can get. I do not recommend ever bridging an amp for main mid/high speakers, just buy a bigger amp. I have been using EV for many years now and I can not say enough about them.
I have owned a set of these for almost ten years now and they have really held up. I highly recommend these for sound quality, durability and longevity.
I've had a good relationship with EV for many years, endorsed them for mics and speakers, and used these for keyboard monitors on stage for years. I just tried using them as mains for small venues, and I have to say, they are really something. They are, in terms of sound quality, not too far off of EV's X-array and X-Line series. Like JBL's EON series, these are real top of the line speakers masquerading under the false pretense of a low price. In the hands of a capable engineer, they sound as good or better than any Meyer, McCauley, Vertec, EAW, Dynacord or other major array in the hands of a mediocre engineer.I am definitely going to buy more of these.
Going way back to the mid 1960's, Ev manufactured a reflex speaker with a 12", mid horns and a tweeter. They called it the Eliminator. It was at that time an amazing stage speaker for mid venues and for larger venues you added another pair. Stacked above the Ev Century 4 dual 12" subs they were unstoppable. Over the years I have owned various Ev speaker systems and aways got quality in endurance and great unparralled sound. In the 80's they butt kicker was a 15" full range model 1503. Now I am here to tell your this new eliminator surpasses the previous and is super easy to eq for the perfect sound in any environment.
