I have read a lot of reviews on most equipment and find a lot of faults with what some of them say about the equipment.
Remember this before you buy.
Decide what you are going to use the equipment for.
Read the Manufacture's spec sheets.
When you find a piece of equipment that individually or combined with other components gives you what you are looking for. Then Buy it.
Do not expect a single speaker cabinet to give you everything you are looking for. IE Volume, dispersion, clarity. Today cabinets work best at 50 to 60 Percent output, at best, Regardless Who the Manufacture of the cabinets is. Do not expect the cabinets to produce Lager amount of DB's. For most of us in the industry use several cabinets to create the increased DB measurement. Use an EQ unit to give you the tonality you want and remember that speaker placement is very critical.
If everyone followed this advice we wouldn't need any reviews. These cabinets are great for the money and have great sound reproductions. If you handle all your equipment with CARE they should last a long time.

I was very excited about these speakers when I got my pair but they just didnt live up to what I thought they would be.
For a DJ doing a small to medium small venue they would be great they respond well to main EQ's with already mixed music but don't do the same for live sound.
Live sound setup used.
Presonus studiolive 16.4.2
sm58 vocals
sm57 or MD421 guitar cabs
I've tried many things to get vocals to sound good through them and they just sound to thin to much mid range base. I've tried EQ's changing setting on the speakers nothing seems to work, just to note using sm58's
I also have the same problem with miic guitar cabs just can't seem to find the right EQ if there is one.
After trying and trying to EQ so one of the to would sound good I just gave up it sounds good through headphones just doesnt go to the mains riight.
All in all great for DJ buut not good for a live band, If your looking for something with a straight across EQ look somewhere else.

Comments about Electro-Voice ELX112P Active 12" Loudspeaker:
Super nice sounding speaker. These and the QSC's are the best out there but a clear price savings with the EV's. Put the subs underneath them and it is just outstanding. Recently did an outdoor Relay for Life event with them and my 9 piece horn band. Covered that outdoor event fine running all day. Great inside as well. High end is very, very smooth for this type of box and it very light. Only down side is that there is only one handle. Cleaner look when they are used as monitors, but a little harder to handle. Highly recommend.
Comments about Electro-Voice ELX112P Active 12" Loudspeaker:
No problems with this speaker, only one compromise: it projects wider than most speakers, doing a great job of filling a wider space, but not as deep as other speakers I've used. This is useful for rooms that are wider than they are deep.
The bass is good for a 12": as a wedding DJ I often have to turn it down a little; and the different connections are great options to have built in.
For the price, it's a great speaker if you don't mind a relatively short throw.
Comments about Electro-Voice ELX112P Active 12" Loudspeaker:
Maybe I am new to powered speakers, but I was not happy with the quality of this unit. I did not feel the 1000 watt power in the speaker. I much prefer the sound of my sx-300's as mains and the s-200's as monitors with separate power amps.
The rca, 1/4 inch, xlr inputs are nice.
I own ev sx 300 and love the quality--the elx112p does not seem to have the same level in my opinion.
Decent price but I would pay more for higher quality.
Comments about Electro-Voice ELX112P Active 12" Loudspeaker:
This is a really great powered speaker. I don't think you can beat the performance at this price. Sure you can go get j.b.l. flight array powered speakers but you are going to spend a lot. Most working musicians or dj's are not going to spend that much per speaker. With that in mind, I highly recommend this cabinet. The lows are quite impressive for a 12 inch speaker and the light weight combined with plenty of power make it a winner!
Comments about Electro-Voice ELX112P Active 12" Loudspeaker:
I'm using these as front of house for smaller venues and as fold-back for larger venues and they sound simply awesome. At only 40lbs they are light to carry and at this price they are easy on the pocket-book.
The rear panel has everything you need. The multiple inputs make it great when you want a small public address system.
The cabinets are rock solid for an overseas construction. Very impressed with the quality of the hardware as well. The sound is amazing. I tested these side by side with the QSC, JBL and MACKIE and I was impressed how smooth and even they sounded.
At several hundred less than the competition, can I say more?
Comments about Electro-Voice ELX112P Active 12" Loudspeaker:
I am so impressed with the EV live X 122p's..I use them for smaller events and wedding ceremonies. I also use them along side my 115's when doing larger events. They produce a very clean warm sound and the bass is awesome. Everyone that hears these speakers easily falls in love with them..they are light weight, easy to set-up, sound amazing and out perform all speakers in their class including the QSC's. If you are looking for an affordable, lightweight, 1000 watt speaker, look no further!..you will be impressed, and completely satisfied.
Comments about Electro-Voice ELX112P Active 12" Loudspeaker:
These are no nonsense powered speaker that just rock. I was looking to purchase a 12" powered speaker to replace my passive 15" speakers. I tried the JBLPRX612, QSC K12, Yamaha DSR112 & Peavey Impulse12. The EV speakers just blew them away. The price was considerably less then the competition. They are clean and powerful in a light weight wooden cabinet. If you are looking to purchase professional sounding gear, these should be at the top of your list. I am a working musician and have been playing professionally for many years.
While they weren't the first new generation powered speaker, EV has proven they are still the leaders in quality sound.
This is a basic powered speaker. Nothing fancy to try to get you to purchase the unit. They don't have feet on the angle used for a monitor wedge. They only have one handle, which seems adequate. They don't have lots of EQ setting, just flat and voice & bass boost. Sound is clear and load.
Sound is great. Very clean and clear. Reproduces bass notes very well.
For the money, these are fantastic speakers.
Comments about Electro-Voice ELX112P Active 12" Loudspeaker:
This speaker replaced my good old MAckie Sa1521s, which were 100 pound monsters that had 15'' LF cones in them. I just couldnt bring them to every gig because of the weight! Now these... these are amazing speakers. Weighs about 40 pounds, and the difference is night and day. Probably the cheapest wooden cabinet that one can find, and its an EV! 1000 watts, and an AMAZING mixer section. The bass that gets pushed out by these 12 in woofers are amazing considering their size. The look professional and are very loud. Even without a mid range driver, it plays them very well - better than any other speakers Ive heard. For the price, you cannot beat this speaker.
