OVERVIEW

Small package with big punch.

The lightest and most portable of all of the ETX line, the EV ETX-10P is a 2000-watt powered PA enclosure with a 10" woofer and a 1.25" titanium compression driver. Its bass response goes all the way to 65 Hz, pretty surprising for a 10" woofer. It is clean, clear, powerful and ruggedly built, another expression of Electro-Voice's 85-year commitment to quality sound.

Inside each low-profile, tour-grade wood enclosure are a range of unique new features that set ETX Powered Loudspeakers apart, combining intelligent technology and innovative industrial design for spectacular results across all applications. EV-engineered high-efficiency transducers and high-powered Class-D amplifiers, Signal Synchronized Transducers (SST) waveguide design and smart FIR-Drive DSP all work together to provide peerless EV sound quality and precise coverage at the highest SPLs.

Comments about Electro-Voice ETX-10P 10" Two-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

This speaker is everything a DXR10 and K10 could only dream of being. It's in a class above those, PRX, and I'd imagine DSR and KW series (standard K's in a wood box).

This speaker is CLEAR, FULL, POWERFUL, all the way to it's limit. It's incredibly balanced and clear throughout it's powerband and doesn't get harsh on the highs when pushed. It has as much bass as you're going to get from a 10", but if you're DJing an event you'll be using subs anyway. The DSP is state of the art; it's great for fine-tuning the speaker depending on the environment.

I recently purchased a DXR10 and K10 to take home and compare. The DXR10 was full and punchy, but lacked clarity. The K10 was detailed but not as full, and became harsh and ear piercing at higher volumes. I needed a 10" speaker due to portability issues, so the DSR series was out of the question. JBL's PRX710 didn't do much for me compared to K10 in store.

The only negative to the ETX-10P, compared to the more affordable K10 and DXR10, is it's 14 pounds heavier, but that's what you get when moving up to warmer wood cabinets. The K10 is convenient to carry around due to it's side handle being vertically positioned, and it being only 30lbs. It worked great as my keyboard monitor, but the sound wasn't what I wanted for personal listening and live events. With the ETX you're getting a wood cabinet, more power and punch, fullness and balance, great DSP.. at a relatively small increase in price and weight.

The sound of this 10" speaker is absolutely worth the price. If you need a 10, don't bother with K and DXR, unless weight is a deal-breaker for you. The ETX's sound was the deal-breaker for me, well worth the investment.

Comments about Electro-Voice ETX-10P 10" Two-Way Powered Loudspeaker:

If you want the best....this is it. Well worth the investment. QSC is a joke beside this thing. It out performs the k8, k10 & k12 big time!
Simply put nothing comes close in this price range! NOTHING!!!!
Leave the world of plastic QSC, JBL, etc. speakers behind and join the hot, clear, punchy, thumping sound of real birch wood! WOW!!!
By the way: I've owned the QSC's but no more. These are the REAL DEAL. No comparison between the two really.
This thing is killer.
It a PRO speaker.
Welcome to GREAT!!!
