A handheld condenser mic that delivers high performance in its price range with on/off switch
The PL84S handheld condenser mic with an on/off switch delivers a high performance blend of a tight yet warm low end, smooth and musical mid range, and crisp yet silky high frequency content. Ideal for vocal styles requiring the finesse and articulation of a condenser, coupled with a forgiving and musical cardioid polar pattern for expressive mic techniques. The PL84S seriously challenges the performance characteristics of competitive condenser models costing twice as much.

This Microphone is easily the best mic in my set-up. I use it for both live sound and recording and it works like a charm in both applications. I bought this mic because I needed a good vocal microphone and this totaly delivered. This mic is a condenser too, but it is priced like a dynamic mic. The switch is really usefull when you want to mute only this mic in your set-up. Overall awesome...buy it!!!!
What's not to love?
Does everything that a condenser mic should do
best I've seen for the money Honey!
Try and find one close for the moola.
This really is a great mic. I have it paired with a 48v Nady Phantom Power Supply and it really picks up your voice beautifully. It's perfectly articulate and really lets you cut through the mix -- it's very responsive in those respects. However my words cannot nearly do it justice, as I have a very low-end PA. It really is quite bad, but the PL84 makes it sound quite a bit better and louder. In fact the other night I was was practicing with my bandmates and I found myself much more conscious of my singing. (I never sing without playing guitar or bass.) Honestly I have yet to use it a lot but so far it's awesome. The only thing I don't like about it is the on/off switch. It's oddly large, and plastic for some reason. Other than that, it comes nicely packaged in a compact box which is inside a plastic sleeve. The mic itself is in a plastic sleeve within a foam sarcophagus sort of thing. Comes with a mic clip, Euro adapter, Electro-Voice sticker, a litlle carrying bag, and I think a velcro strip. The carrying bag is a nice touch. It's imitation leather with a thin padded lining, but honestly I'd rather use the box for transporting it. It's snug and very well-protected in the foam.
So if you're looking for a superb condenser for a great price -- look no further.
It's a fantastic deal for a great sounding mic.
The mic sounds great. I use it playing live. It has a fantastic range of high and lows and accentuates my singing style.
The mic appears to be made very rugged and well suited for live or studio work.
It's a great value with the sales that are on now. It's a mic that previously I couldn't afford to buy.
I needed some inexpensive mics for some home recording I'm doing. Connected this to the M-Audio Fast Track and it sounds very good. I have not used live, but it appears to be built well. has a littlle heft to it. Comes well packed, includes a zipper case. If I needed another few I would buy these again
