Outstanding EV sound in a fully integrated system.
The Electro-Voice SxA360 is a high-powered active loudspeaker that features carefully matched electronics and transducers. You also get typical EV ruggedness, reliability, and impeccable sound quality. With the SxA360 active PA speaker, it's easy to quickly set up a high-quality sound system.
2 built-in power amplifiers”a 350W for low frequencies and and 150W for high frequencies”contain electronic crossover circuitry and constant directivity horn compensation optimized for the SxA360 PA speaker's components. A limiter circuit prevents the amps from clipping, while preserving sonic quality.
The line input utilizes Neutrik combo connectors that accept either 1/4" or XLR-type connectors. XLR balanced output. The Electro-Voice SxA360 PA speaker also functions as a powered floor monitor with optional separate line output. A 3-pin, XLR-type, balanced, low-impedance output works with long cable runs.

Here the story, I was going to in to my local store to buy the QSC K12 when my salesperson said,"Just listen to these speaker and tell me what you think?" So I went out to my van got a big band cd and the salesman put it in the cd player, set up 2 QSC's and 2 sxa360 side by side, eq'ed them to flat response, put them at the same volume and let it go. I could not believe my ears! It sounded as if the band were right in the room with me. Such "highs" and good bass, too. The QSC just couldn't match the sound. For me, I like the brilliance of the" highs" of the EV's. The natural and life-like sound.
Well, I've used them at a number of events and I am so pleased with them I can't begin to tell you. I can even hear myself on the mic, so crisp and clear.
So here we get to the title of this peice. I don't think many people even have heard of these speakers. Yeh, yeh everyone has heard of EV but what of the sxa360 and it's brother the sax100+. EV you've done a poor job of letting people know of this speaker. Thank god for my salesman. Oh, one other thing, these are not cheap speakers compared to others out there. I think these are speakers you work your way up, but I don't regret for one minute purchasing them and when I look at them sitting in my room, I can't help but smile because I got the Best D#%/ speakers and that means the Bose L1 uh huh, I said it!!
I guess my ranking is not accurate in that if I were some 20something looking at active speakers. I'd go for the QSC K12. After all, look at the back of a K12 and the back of a sxa360, but that is why I like the 360's SIMPLICITY! Although EV, couldn't you have put a mic input and controls like on the sxa100+? You lose a few points on the handle configuration. Hey we ain't all perfect. After all you didn't consult me before you made this speaker and why NOT! Don't give me that excuse you don't know me, everybody uses that on me even if it is true.
Pick it up, look at it, but play it and the answer is Yes!
The sxa360 is competitively priced with the QSC K12 but and it's a big "but" on the back of the unit which I stated on the feature section so I won't be redundant.
They are fantastic!
I've owned a pair of these speakers for a couple years now, and they have performed extraordinarily well in a wide variety of situations. I've used them as the mains for my band's PA system - using them for every instrument of the band as well as the voices - and the sound has been excellent. They're relatively small (only around 36 pounds) so some people have lower expectations of them. These speakers simply blow everyone away. They reproduce the sounds exactly. I promise you that you will not be disappointed if you buy these speakers.
