OVERVIEW

Designed to reproduce your sound with great sonic detail as a main speaker or stage monitor.

The Electro-Voice ZX4 is designed mainly for portable applications to be used by performing artists, musicians, and small bands. And with an integral pole-mount, the ZX4 is ready for any main mix application. To accommodate different stage depths, the ZX4 incorporates retractable monitor feet. This allows the ZX4 to be used as a stage monitor with a 45° or 55° angle.

Every musical detail can be reproduced by the ZX4, from extended highs to powerful lows. The DH3 compression driver—with its pure titanium diaphragm—coupled with the ZX4's large 90° x 50° horn allows for tremendous intelligibility and pattern control. The 15" EVS15-SF low-frequency transducer delivers tight, low bass frequencies and outstanding power-handling capacity.

The rugged enclosure of the ZX4 is perfect for portable applications, while the stylish design gives it appeal in even the trendiest of environments. At only 44.5lb., the lightweight ZX4 allows ease of transport and set up.

    Comments about Electro-Voice ZX4 15" 400W Passive PA Speaker:

Bought 2 of these to replace an older EV model that was too big and well past their prime . . while these have SLIGHTLY less bass output, in most venues they sound big, boomy, and with great tone. I use these with a live band primarily for outputting instrument and instrument tracks, and only on very rare occasions do I need to also use a subwoofer.

They are an odd shape, which sometimes makes it difficult to transport them on a cart with other gear, but for their size and output they are very light weight and easy for a small person like myself to carry.

Highly recommended, I'm considering adding one more for larger venues.

    Clear Sound, Light, Sleek

    Comments about Electro-Voice ZX4 15" 400W Passive PA Speaker:

My last band bought these after going through two pairs of Peavy SP series speakers (both pairs blew out). The EV speakers sound really good in the low-mid to upper ranges. Low range is ok but we used them with subs crossed around 120 Hz and they sound fantastic. Far better than the Peavys which seemed to have no mids at all. They are very light and easy for one person to put them up on stands. They also have a bolt to tighten them up to the stand so they're stable when their on stands. They are also very sleek looking. If you have the cash or find some of these used get them. You won't regret it.
